I can't quite figure out why certain classes have a need for A grade weapon / armor.
Classes in question are: SE, Bishop, EE, Prophet.
Why in the world do these classes need A grade? Especially a weapon.?
A grade is for PvP only. Even in a Siege, or Group PvP, these classes can do quite well in B grade, since they uhm do not PvP unless they get lucky, they have a bow and other class don't.
What am I missing here?

My prophet has Dragon Slayer+3 w/ health. Over 1k Patk fully buffed. I think that's why I have A grade. -.-
Buff pet with SoM and majestic means that person is a hardcore ebayer ^^
Hmm....we crafted SOM's for our mains and gave our Desparion staffs with acumen (from weapon quest) to our buffers. During that one event where they gave SA crystals we made sure we got both blue 11 and blue 12 for acumen on all.
Why? Well, personally, I like our buffers to cast quickly, too. An SE with an acumen weapon is a life saver. Please note we did this before C4 so no Valhalla with acumen was available, and I wasn't going to OE a bunch of Homu swords. :)
Armor...well, yes, BW on a buffer is wonderful. But if you also play these classes (not just out of party buffbots) you'll want to eventually upgrade IF you can afford to do so. We have a tiny clan so once one of us has say a majestic ring, we move our +3 BO ring to the buffers, etc etc.
I've not seen a buffbot with full a-grade armor and TOP a grade weapon, but if a clan is wealthy enough or if they've raided enough, it can happen, esp. if that buffer is a "clan" buffer.
Not arguing against your question, but I hope I provided one possible answer.

What's the point when you can pickup an acumen homu for 8m~? The matk isn't very useful outside of cheating in PvP (root your oppoenent). Cbsps root lands 100% on mobs anyway.

So basicall you mean to say is: If you play one of the aforementioned classes, it would be nice to have it, but you don't NEED it. Right?
And I can agree with that. I still think it's an enormous amount of adena waisted but that's just me.
Now take someone who are actually usefull for PvP, for example, Daggers, Archers, DA's, Nukers, Orcs, Warsmiths then maybe Tanks and Warlords, the added A grade bonuses they get, will help out keeping them alive longer and killing others easier. These classes NEED A grade, but can do OK w/o it.

To this I add.
I used a conversation on my SE on PTS. it gave alot of mp, but knocked her hp so low it's like a nuker in demon at 40.
(lvl 76 with 1800 hp and 4k mp)
MY prophet is doing this, tillum robe. why cause for one it's cheepest A/g set. and is best for prophet cause of the bonus it gives +15% cast speed, +8% m df, +2 wit - 2 int, & poision /bleed resist.
