I died in OB with 12 PKs and was still red.
Restarting put me in spitting distance of Gludin.
Using a SoE put me on just another spot, still around Gludin.
So I'd guess that if you use a SoE while red, you'll just end up around the nearest town, instead of inside, regardless of PK count.
Man, that works in so many ways ! ;-)
Post your results **** voice, I'm betting around town designated by SoE if 5 or less PKs, Floran if 6+.

Well, sadly my method is flawed or I would have posted my voice.
I created two characters on Talking Island, PKTest1 and PKedTest1. Guess who went red?
I leveled to 5, killed poor unsuspecting Pked 6 times. Before becoming a murderer I had done the town specific scroll quest, so I had in my posession the scroll to Giran. After I killed my victim for the 6th time I used /unstuck. Sure enough, it ported me to Floran. I then attempted to use the scroll of escape to Giran and...(drumroll please) I couldn't due to unsuitable terms!
I'd always assumed you could use those scrolls anytime you wanted and they were like regular town specific scrolls....guess I found out different!
Okay, so now I have no town specific one and I have a level 5 blood red character in Florin :)

DM to answre you just a bit differently.
I went red this morning. when the opposing side come in to get us, I bsoe'd and it landed me out side aden.(cause I was in FG) a fair disstance, infact I was so close to BS that I went there and worked off my karma. (ended up dieing off my last 300 karma cause two mobs argo'd and sleep failed) "no drop tho"
so the tes shows when you are red and use a town soe it doesnt work?

would have killed them but working off karma in elmore is not an option nor is dieing it off :/
