Intro:
I've wasted on this quest several hours, just to find all my hopes on getting
decent reward were crushed :). I'm playing PK, so it's made from meele point of
view. Mages will find it a lot easier, as usual :)
Let's get started:
Quest is made by combining 4 other quests you can do independently. These quests
are: "Fantasy Wine", "Jovial Accordeon", "Adept of taste", and "Bring out the
flavour of ingredients". I recommend doing "Adept..." and "Bring out..."
simultanously. It'll save a lot of time and frustration, cause hunting ground
for both ale partially the same (Dion Plains and Cruma Swamp).
Walkthru:
It all starts with talking to warehouse chief Ranspo. He's going to prepare a
party, but he needs to gather some unique ingredients. That's when we make our
entrance :)
First task is to get bottle of wine, and the person who can help us is guard
Harlan. Of course he won't do it for free. He asks for ingredients to make a
bottle of wine to celebrate birth of his daughter. Needed items are: Leaf of
eucalyptus (80 pcs) and Chill stone (100 pcs). To get it we have to fight Enku
Orc Champions and Shamans. They drop them almost everytime so it's an easy task.
After gathering all the items go back to Harlan and get a bottle of wine. Give
bottle to Ranspo and receive next task.
For second quest talk to musician Barbado. He wants to play a duet with bard
Swan to impress Nanarin, but Swan refuses to do it cause he's in love with her
too. Guess who's going to make him change his mind :) Talk to Swan, he's
unwilling to play a duet unless we run an errand for him. He gives us 2 keys and
instructions what to do with them. First is for Beer chest in WH, second -
Clothes chest in Magic store. After getting beer from chest we must deliver it
do trader Sabin, and clothes goes to guard Xaber. Simple and easy, but after
opening second chest we find nothing :) Swan is very unhappy with our poor
performance but agrees to play a duet. Return to Barbado and he'll present us
with Theme of feast - you know what to do with it :)
Third part requires us to get a recipe from Jonas (yeah the famous "Adept of
taste" quest :/ ) He's trying to impress his family with his m4d c00king skillz
;p To do so he's going to made a dish that will please magister Mirien, famous
Adept of taste. He gives us ingredients list and clues where to find them. For
detailed info we must talk with following npcs:
Trader Sonia (Dion magic shop) - mandragora sap
to make it 40 mandragora roots are needed (red ones are common, 40 whites are
needed for premium item). drops from all kinds of mandragoras (EG FTW :) )
Guard Jacob (north Dion gate) - Honey
20 nectar for normal 10 royal jelly for premium. You can get it from stinger
wasps and Bloody bees. I recommend bloody bees cause they're next to mobs needed
in next quest
Priestess Glywka (Dion temple) - marsh moss
She wants 20 bundles of moss - green for regular, brown for premium. Find it in
Cruma swamp - hunt gray and giant crimson ants
Magister Rollant (Dion temple) monster eye meat
30 monster eye corpses from monster eye searchers or gazers - outside dion are
plenty :)Talk to him again to get "Bring out..." quest, it's worth it :)
Grocer Pano (Floran Village ) - Dion potatoes
30 hobgoblin amulets - again outside of Gludio :)
Talk to him once more and get "Hunt for wild beasts" quest (collect 20 bear
pelts from Dion Grizzlies for 3.7k adena) to fight monotony of killing
hobgoblins :)
After getting all the items, return to Jonas and get recipe. Hand it over to
Ranspo, and prepare to start last part.
Tips for this part:
- choose at least one of the premium items and collect needed ingredients to
ensure getting recipe from Jonas - if not, all hunting is lost, you'll get only
10k adena and you'll be forced to start over :/.
- to finish it quickly and to kill 2 birds with one stone following pattern is
useful:
Talk to all quest NPCs in Dion.
Go to EG and kill Mandragoras, next visit Cruma Swamp to play with ants and
leeches (leeches are for "Bring out..." quest).
After this go to Floran and talk to Pano and get his quests.
Follow the road from Floran to Dion Plains to find Dire wolves, Kadif Werewolves
(for "Bring out..." quest) and bloody bees.
SOE yourself to Dion after finished hunting and start looking for monster eyes
and hobgoblins (if you got hunt for the wild beasts from Pano grizzlies are next
to hobgoblins).
Talk to NPCs in Dion, then go to Floran to obtain all the quest items.
Return to Dion, talk to Jonas, then Ranspo.
If you didn't took "Bring out..." quest along with "Adept..." (or sold recipe to npc) you're gonna do it
now because last part starts with Rollant, he sends us to gather ingredients for
his dessert. These are:
2 antidotes - magic shop, or Bloody bees
4 Riton's fruit - Dire wolves
10 leech fluids - Giant mist leech
20 moon face flowers - Kadif werewolves
Info on where to find these mobs is few lines up :) Bring all the items to
Rollant and wait until he finishes cooking. as a reward you'll get recipe for
his dessert, and a Ritron Jelly.
Go to see Ranspo, he'll take recipe and give you your reward. I think reward is
decided on what kind of items he got from us. I got 24500 adena and Blue Diamond
necklace.
Summary:
Hours of hunting, over 100k adena lost on ss and pots, gained 2 levels,
got one full drop (crappy d ring) and all of this for 24500a and low d jewel?
Definetely not worth doing it for reward - but if you can afford spending some
cash on ss, or want to play solo for a litle bit, give it a try. Nothing can
compare to Horror Mist Ripper popping out of nowhere just when you barely
survived 2 gray ants, or Monster Eye Destroyer landing slow on you when you run
away from 3 dire wolves. Of course if you're filthy rich, dressed in top d
stuff, wielding +10 top d weapon, this quest won't offer you any challenge and
you'll only loose your time.
Ah, one more thing - receipt you get from Rollant as a reward is worth 20k
in shops.
