Crushing

In order to make spirt or soul shots a person has to use graded crystals, in order to do that they have to crush graded items. Can any thing graded be used?

And how can a person justify crushing graded stuff just for crystals? I mean it's graded!

because to thepeople making the shots it's worth more for non top stuff to be shots than to be equipment.

i regularly will buy a few mil in underpriced D equipment to make crystals, same with C.

a lot of dwarves i know craft things specifically for crushing... or buy underpriced items from other players to crush. theres a lot of low end armor/weapon drops that most players just crush when they get them as a drop simply because there is no market for less than top gear.

Is it worth to craft things for crytalizing? I usually sell mats to store if they are not for top grade or for some stuffs that are easy to be sold. :confused:

its impossible to justify crushing some items

say i manage to buy a +10 homu for 4 million adena
i'll take a stab and guess a +10 homu has a crystal cost of about 8 million adena
now that looks like i could make 4 million by selling the crystals but in reality the actually street price for that weapon would be closer to 100 mil

bit of an extreme example but it holds true even for d grade,
elven long sword
crystal cost about 1.8 mil
street price prolly 2.5-3 mil

I crush top B and low B items :) it just depends on the market price and crafting price of the item compared to the crystal value of the item. Often you can craft items for less than what it is worth in crystals and thus crushing brings you profit. This is a good trick for slow selling items that have lots of materials on market.

And Splatter, why not crush D/C/B if you're using A? :)

I think most of C and B crystals come from overenchanting failures anyway..

Well i need to do something with my dwarf. My first idea was to craft non grade shots, but with all the newbie shots a person can get that sunk that boat.

Then i thought because of the limit of a persons recipe book, the shops would shift into basic and high grade crafters. But the market looks to have fellen into the toilet.

I'm not rich or high level, and the idea of crushing anything graded makes my blood turn cold.

Um...you can not crush no grade items as far as I know(or craft ng shots). And if you are not into crushing, buy cheap from failed OE'ers.

i think in c1 you could craft ngss, it was abit overpowered because you didnt need crystals just soul ore

if you set up a buy shop for crystals you might get lucky

look around at some mammon stuff
craft bss and a-ss off higher lvl crafters
craft cbsps
buy low sell high

all of those things make at least 10x the profit you will get from lower grade crafts

hell, any grade of bsps nets waaay better profit than just ss. Quite frankly it is amazing people even craft ss. Best I could craft dss was 9a, sold for 11a. But at same prices I could craft bspsd for 46a and resell for 52, and sales were not much different.

All this aside, shots are not really where the money is at all :/

actually you really have to look at what goes into a shot to decide whats better
when crystals are readily availiable sps is usually the better bet

the most important fact in crafting shots is the adena/mp ratio
if you do the maths on all shots you'll see (on gustin at least) this is the order of profitability
a-ss
bss
absps
bbsps

that doesnt take into account how sellable a shot is, cbsps is actually a higher profit because you can sell more of them per day
also doesnt take into account A crystals being unbeleavably hard to get
if i got myself 800 A crys i'd just turn them all into a-ss and wait the few days it takes to sell them instead of crafting any absps

here's the ss/sps profitabilty equation
(crystal cost + ore cost)/craft quantity - sell price * craft quantity / mp cost
the answer you get is your total profit per mp used
the answer will be a negative number but just ignore that

If you have a crystals, you'll spend the same amount of mp whether you're crafting blsd sps or ss..

This doesn't hold true for CSS/BCSPS, nor is it quite true for BSS/BBSPS, as the mp usage for the BSPS is (2xBSS)-20 for both.

for CSS/BCSPS, and BSS/BBSPS it makes more sense to craft the shots, as it takes far less time and the profit is nearly even.

However, as dwarves realize that, the prices for the lower BSPS go up, so the profit goes up, so more people do it.. then the prices go down, and the profit goes down, and.. u get it ^^

Until you can start crafting Top C grade weapons, armor, and shots you probably won't be making a lot of adena. The only recipes worth registering at the lower lvls are the ones for materials, leather, steel, cokes, etc. To make some money now, get the mats and D shot recipes and set up a private creation shop in Giran, price low so people will use you over other dwarves and leave your toon on overnight. You won't make a lot of adena, but you will make some. During the time when you can actually play the game grind like crazy to get higher lvl.

The way I look at crushing is basically on a crystal level. I bought from a player a Gastraphetes which when crushed gave me 1758 D Crystals.

This basically works out to 511 a per crystal. The avg price for D Crystals is 600 (good deal on Lionna) so if I did nothing else but just marked up the 511 a cost to me by 100 I would in turn make over a 170k profit. Now if I also craft shots with this my profit increases more. Yes it is not a killing of money but it adds up.

So Splatter if by crushing an item you will make more money than reselling it, then crush it.
