Flamberge + mammon = bad surprise to a noob

Yep! The noob is me :confused:

I'm orc destroyer with 2 handed flamberge.. and i used some money to hunt in catacomb to make AA dreaming to upgrade my flamberge with the only C top 2handed weapon i can: berseker blade.

Well.. after the a week and some AA i go to see how much AA the mammon want... surpise.. NO UPGRADE, NO EXCHANGE.. nada... nothing.. niente.
I was near to cry.
Some good player tell me i must change weapon and then upgrade.. i sold all my AA (unusefull for now) to get all the money i used in CSS and potions for hunting that week in catacomb.
Now i don't know what better. This is a huge hit, cause the weapon i must buy and upgrade and exchange is not the weapon i'm using with skill to hunt.
I saw berseker+3 with focus sold by player around 12kk.
Now i can't buy nothing.. but.. what's better?
Can some one suggest me? My nightmare should be buy unusefull weapon.. and upgrade.. upgrade.. to find also mammon will not exchange with berseker O.O

Oh.. i use this post also for another noob question.
I hoped that fishing make me made potions at low cost... i have all common recipe for potions (from 50.000 to 90.000 each).. i got the 130.000 pole.. i use the yellow good lure to get more mats for potions.. but no way i can make potions at a good rate.. full of oil.. but not of fish scale.. i still have more potions buying at shop that paying in lure!! (not counting cost of pole and recipe). I do some mistake? what the use of this **** fishing if all you can do is sell gems?

Unequip the flamberge and do an even change to a weapon that has mid-low and mid-high variants too. Then start upgrading till you get to the Top weapon of the grade, do even change again and you will have a berzerker blade.

Or buy SoD/any other top luxury shop weapon and take it to mammon, upgrade and then even exchange.

Just to elaborate: you have the AA to upgrade a weapon to top C, so just go to mammon and do the FREE even exchange to another weapon type, e.g. a one-handed sword or a dagger. No need to buy another weapon. Then upgrade the one-handed sword to top c and exchange FOR FREE again to your berserker blade.

The only problem you have is that mammon only does upgrades one step at a time, and there is more than one step between flamberge and berserker blade, so mammon does not offer the upgrade option for the flamberge.

If mammon would EXCHANGE my weapon with another one that i can upgrade.. and than EXCHANGE again with a berseker.. well.. should be well (i'll hunt to make all AA to do all the exchange-upgrade in one shot).
But seems that mammon don't do anything to my flamberge.
He doesn't exchange with other weapons, he doesn't upgrade.

From answer seems that mammon at least exchange the flamberge.. so i there is something wrong with mine?
Maybe because has Focus on it?

remove SA before u try and upgrade, he tells u that right when u ask to exchange.

First of all you need to sing up with a priest of dawn (located in all cites) during the competition period. If you are above lvl 40 and are not a part of castle ruling aliance you will have to pay 50k for that. When you log into the game you are told if that's competition or seal validation period. This will alow you to go into nekropolices and catacombs for 2 weeks.
Then you need to acumulate ~2.2mil anchent adena ether by buing it or by turning in sealstones to priest of dawn.
Then during the seal validation period you to hunt down blacksmish of mamon (the guy is sure blood relatted to master Toma in dwarfland) he teleports between all catacombs randomly. Then you can upgrade your dark screamer into crystal dagger for those 2.2mil anchent adena. You can also trade your's wearpon for equal crystal value for free. For dark screamer it's every other best luxore and more. For crystal dagger it's all other best C wearpons.
You CAN NOT trade for duals, or trade duals for any other type of wearpon.
You CAN NOT upgrade a wearpon with special ability in it.
All enchants are LOST during upbrade, but kept during even exchange.
You can upgrade almost all wearpons from low D to best C (Demon Fangs and Paagrio axe are exeptions, since they have no analogs in the crystal value lists).

same thing happens with the books mage uses, umm demon fangs,
its classed as an ETC weapon, and theres no options in mammon for it at alll, not even exchange.

It's not because it's an "Ets" wearpon, but because there is no other D wearpon with same number of crystals, so it can't be exchanged, and it falls out of the list when you upgrade it for same reason.

There are fewer two-handed swords in the game than for most weapon paths. A normal C-grade progression, by crystal values, is 916 > 1148 > 1720 > 2452. The two-hander progression is 916 > 2452.

This will be even more pronounced in A and B grades. In B grade, there are 3 one-handers and only one two-hander. In A grade, there are 4 one-handers and only one two-hander.

This is the correct solution your problem. He was saying to
1) Unequip your Flamberge.
2) Use the "even exchange" option to make it a Stormbringer.
3) Upgrade the Stormbringer to a Katana.
4) Upgrade the Katana to a Sword of Delusion
5) Upgrade the Sword of Delusion to a Samurai Longsword
6) Use the "even exchange" option to make it a Berserker Blade
...this can all be performed in one meeting with the Blacksmith of Mammon. The price tag would be no higher than the usual difference between a Flamberge and a Berserker Blade. It simply requires two extra dialogs than upgrading other weapons would, hardly a major setback.

While that is the "correct" method, I strongly advise against upgrading step-by-step from your Flamberge. It is not the most effecient method. I would recommend that you instead follow this progression:
1) Save up the Luxury Store price difference between your Flamberge and a Sword of Delusion.
2) Save up the AA difference between a Sword of Delusion and a Samurai Longsword.
3) Sell your Flamberge to a player.
4) Buy a Sword of Delusion.
5) Immediately upgrade your Sword of Delusion to a Samurai Longsword at the Blacksmith of Mammon.
6) Use the "even exchange" option to make it a Berserker Blade
...this method will save you approximately 25% of the price difference between the Flamberge and a Sword of Delusion (in the area of a million adena).
