Well, each day i get closer to get the quest for second class choise... so i'm here to ask advice!
right now i'm Palus knight... so i will need to decide if blade dancer or Shillien knight... and i like both! :S
For what i know, thy are much different: BD is full attack and duals, SK full defensive and shield... so far, wich one you suggest? of course i can always get the other as subclass (one faar day) but right now really can't decide ^^; So, regarding skills, equipment etc, what do you think should be the wisest to choose? :)
i know it's hard to say someone else what to do, but right now i'm at 50% so maybe with some flaw/merits description i could make up mind and have a better idea of what i'd like to play :)
BD = great for groups with the dances, the dances really start getting good in the 50's, no more armor masteries, has no choice but to use duals, can't really solo unless dual-boxing a SE with good buffs (vr is a must for BD's to solo or duo untill 74 with dance of vampire), always wanted for groups whether it's for pve or pvp, not the greatest in pvp due to low pdef/mdef/hp/easily stunned
SK = arguably the best pvp tank in game, decent for pve groups, can solo more affectively, has good pdef/mdef for tanks, can have a hard time finding groups due to low hp for tank class, can still be easily stunned, forms good as a heavy armor nuker with melee dd and tanking abilities
What it boils down to is how you want to play the game. The BD will get you more groups hands down. The SK will be more affective in pvp due to it's high deffense and high damage output. Both can get expensive to play, the SK probably more-so due to his use of crystals for cubics and the fact of having a harder time getting groups (unless you're in a clan that knows you're good at your class). The BD gets expensive in getting duals and trying to get them to +4 for the SA and usually blowing them up. :(
Hmm... interesting... right now the SK sounds good... i like to party, but i see the PVP as a good point (being in a clan it's probably the main aim). For PVE group maybe it's a shame, but honestly i ususally go for party of 2/3 ppl and some solo... (this also due to real life low free time ^^)
and also as style of play i prefer to last with good defense than "hit n run" before being killed :P
on the other hand, BD has less summoning expenses... and easier parties *mumble*
thanks both, this is of much help :) now i'll go the "thinking room" with some feedback to work on ^^

argh... maybe i shall talk with clanmates as well about it (we did a little talk right now but nothing too exended...)
what i like of the SK is the good armor... and think this is a good point to enjoy game in "normal" play (solo/small groups) of course the huge damage output of the BD and the great goup support skills aren't bad as well... -_- so hard to choose... :p
Hehehe, don't underestimate the SK's damage output. My clan's SK at lvl 63 in doom with +3 elemental sword took on a lvl 75 bd in full a-grade. Got the BD down to 100hp before the BD killed him. The BD admited to him that if the SK's last nuke had gotten off he would have won. The drains, the debuffs, the dot's, the cubics, and of course the lightning strike make the SK extremely nasty in combat. Add the BD and SE buffs and you'll have one of the deadliest tanks out there.
Well im a B-grade BD and my friend is a B-grade SK. We have some of the hottest pvp matches around, and it almost always comes down to +/- 100 hp. BD is all about the dmg output, and man, if you get some focus duals, you will do some hardcore dmg ;). dont listen to ANYONE ELSE. Focus duals > all if you are a BD, and pretty much for everyone else as well. But yea, his drains hurt like a ****** ( the sk's ) and his cubics can be truely anoying, but you will be outdoing him in damage if you play it right.
So far I believe every GOOD BD I've seen/met/talked to use focus duals as well. The crit damage a BD can do is great for a melee. Therefor it only makes sense to have the focus duals to utilize that more.
One thing I've seen some BD's do against high hp players is also have a bow, use their ice attack to slow and then kite them. Tends to work most times (unless it's a destroyer who pulls out a bow and frenzy's to hit like a howitzer).
i was looking for some infos about summons of cubics... but what i'm unaware of it this: where do i find crystals? are dropped by some sort of mobs (as i presume) or something else? this may sound a stupid question... but well, it is :)
Do yourself a favor and go BD. Tanks are not needed in PvE apart from Raids, so a single - the highest level one and preferable with most HP - Tank is enough for a whole clan. For normal PvE the hate skill generates way to few hate, to keep aggro on you, thus parties go out hunting without tank as he can't do his job anyways. In PvP tanking is impossible, unless your enemy is mentally challenged. PvP clans do not use tanks, its all about ranged fighters and their support. And BD is part of that support crew, as well as a BD is wanted for every PvE party with more then 1 person. And if we talk about soloing (as in, no buffbot etc.) thats something nobody with a sane mind would do, no matter if SK or BD. If you have SE buffs, i'm pretty sure a BD does well enough to 'solo'.
well, the huge number of "dual users" is in fact a good hint of what is needed... still hard to choose (SK sounds nice, but after all doing more damage compensate the less hp...)
well, right now i'm at 60% BD :P ty for suggestion
 wow! awesome! at this stage i'm looking for SK, since i prefer that kind of "way to play" but you know, duals looks so good :)
Actually, if you play a female DE, the duals only look good until you start fighting. The fighting moves of a female DE with duals look quite silly, actually. ;)
Personally, I would prefer the SK for the greater variety of skills. And you will have a class that not everybody plays. But of course, this is a personal decision, and as an archer, I will of course always prefer a BD in my party to an SK...
BD's rock! I'm going to sub BD. Fast running. Decent casting skills and good buffs. The only down side is, I think they stop getting armor masteries after a certin level. But I think there knight masteries from before keep there AC higher than most classes.
They can dish out a lot of damage, good dex for crits and crit buffs. Bleeds not bad ether.
SK ftw imo :)
tripple life drains (lifeleech, healthdrain and cubic), debuffs Hex and Powerbreak and a focussed blade will beat the crap out of any BD in his lvl range. Not to mention the LS. It does not land that often but when it does you can start your victory dance before you give the BD the "back to village" message.
