basically i started fishing for the sole purpose of gathering POFC
from what i hear the best way to get it is by haveing a high lvl fishing skill
i started off at lvl 10 and slowly started raiseing it if it was too easy or i figured the rewards werent good enough
at the moment im lvl 18 to try out the 5% chance at getting red fish (check the guide)
as far as i can figure the optimal lvl for fishing with an a grade pole is 14
fish usually die in 2 hits and the rewards are fairly reasonable
some problems i have
keep pulling up mobs but they rarely drop anything
keep haveing to change locations
any tips on the fastest way to proof of fish catchingness?
I've fished up about 5M but I'm still kinda new to fishing. Someone told me to stop upgrade fishing when it was lvl11 in Fishing Skill cuz after that you don't get the good-profit-stuff.

Regular Fish Gems are by far the highest demand items from fishing. However if you have higher fishing levels you cannot get those from the fish. The downfall of having lower fishing levels is that the rate of which you get hairping/patch parts is much lower. Also lower fishing levels you do not get as many proof of catching fish from the oils as you do from the higher level fishes.
hmm I have an A grade pole and fishing expertise of 23. I cant really fish without shots. Last night after a long block of fishing I got about 4k proofs, and would be more, but I dont turn in the shiny gems, just the rest.
My conversion for the higher level fish used to be horrendous at 40-50% and the fat ones going at 30% or less. Then I remembered something I used to always carry on my toon in Gustin server. Finally got one and my conversion rate shot up to 80%. Maybe it was luck or a hidden design but I'm happy. I dropped said item once and though I was a stingy archer, I ported and ran like mad to get it back. Anyway I have stopped fishing but now.
I just fish at level 4, with D grade pole. For me, its easier and faster to pull in plain old fish oil and convert it up than it is to sit and crack higher level fish and get useless patch/pin parts instead of premium oil that I need.
