I am thinking of starting a new Char and i want to play a Wizzy but cant decide Which one Sorcerer,Spell howler or SpellSinger. i am leaning towards Spell Singer but i would like to hear the Pros and Cons about each one
Spellsingers cast very fast. They don't have good mana regen tools, though their natural mana regeneration is better than the other two.
Spellhowlers do a lot of damage, have good mana regen tools but cast slow.
Scorcerers are in between the two.
For PvP the Spellsinger's cast speed really makes a huge difference, but they often spend lots of downtime in PvE. Spellhowlers have little PvE downtime and they do lots of damage if they hit in PvP (plus they get Silence).
Sorcerers are again in the middle on this. Not as good mana regen as a Spellhowler so more downtime in PvE, but better than a Spellsinger.
SPS - overhit skill available, aoe sleep, 2x aoe nukes, has special skills that have a chance to either slow or bleed a target (can be used in pvp on white players)
SH - overhit skill available, aoe poison, 1x aoe nuke, has several nukes of the same power, can use curse death link for massive damge on a single target
Scorc - no overhit skill available, aoe sleep, 2x aoe nukes, has slow and decay but can only use on flaged players if in pvp
The scorc has good base stats overall to work with, however ncsoft was a little weak on giving the scorc class a range of skills to use. The SH has numerous skills it can use for massive damage, but as said is slow in casting and also has the lowest con and hp in the game. The SPS also has multiple skills to pull from, rediculously fast casting, but is weak in damge and mp management.
Hehehe, well tbh, decay works better on players then it does mobs. I usually hear from players after getting hit by decay, "holy crap that hurts, took all (most depending) of my cp away, yikes". Mobs on the other hand, well let's just say that on any multi-hp mobs decay is pointless.
But hey in pvp at least you can use ice dagger, and frost bolt on white players to start combat on the open field.
My Decay (lvl 70 Sorcerer) does roughly 2k dmg, and works pretty fast (15 seconds or so?). The amount of dmg it does is not related to any stat, other than the lvl of the Decay skill.
On a side note... The lvl 70 Inferno skill did ~4500 initial dmg to an almost 70 tank and tops it off with a lvl 10 fast-acting DOT. It's a pretty nice "Wow!" skill, but pretty useless in everyday PVP.
Dots are underpowered in this game.
A Bsps should at least affect the duration if not the damage/tick.
I would like to see Dots cost less mana as well... you are paying for the damage in time as well as mana and the effect does not cover the costs in either PvE or PvP.
I would love Ice Dagger if the dot would hit more and the mana cost was toned down a tad.
