Dual Wielding/Bots

Player Questions Started Last reply 12 posts
Hello :)

I have two random questions:

1. When, as a DE Fighter, can I begin to dual wield? And, what is the penalty in this game for dual weilding, if any?

2. The number of bots I've seen around the starting area is absolutely obscene. It's almost enough to make me give up on this game. Does the number of bots in an area scale down later in the game?

Thanks,

At 20 you get D grade mastery and can use dual swords. There are non grade fist weapons too.

And don't bother asking about that unless you wanna get locked.
I was just in DE village on Sieghardt and had to laugh as literally every 10 seconds a dwarf bot with a gibberish name ported in. All either had a tarbar or fist weapons and looked the same. That is extreme bot infestation but it doesn't get much better, even aden town is surrounded by bots as are all the cats/necros. I keep running out of petitions, not that it seems to do much good but it's all I can do. I'm starting to think bots are actually allowed now.
There is no true dual wielding in this game.

For a fee, you combine swords to make a dual sword weapon.... but it's not actual dual wielding.
Yes, the number of bots goes down when you get to more populated areas. Bots will also become more manageable-- there are so many techniques to either dispose or leech off them. My new favorite is forcing a bot using a polearm to flag-- if my character isn't in the same clan/alliance/party and is flagged, and I stand in front of the bot with a few mobs next to me, he'll actually hit me too (this isn't perfect, I'll have to ask ML how to do it just right, there are a few subtle things you have to do as well) and flag. Otherwise I usually try to train large groups of mobs onto bots, which often works well, especially in catacombs.

This topic is going to get locked anyway, might as well add what I can ^^

As for dual wielding, once you hit level 20 you are able to use "dual swords". Although no class gets specific masteries for them before 40 (right), you'll note that many healers use them anyway. No real penalty, just that you don't get extra Patk with them.
healers have "general" weapon mastery, so they can use any weapon and get the patk from skills

as a DE i would advice u to use 2-handed sword or 1 handed sword and shield, since u have masteries for those

duals u dont get masteries for before lvl 40 (if u go BD)
( u still can use them, but get no bonus from ur masteries)
And besides, Dark Elves look awesome with two handers.
Ok. Thanks guys. :)
Oh can't believe I got it on this post before it got locked.

Anyway starter villages are definatley not newb friendly anymore since you cant hunt anything without running into more farmers than mobs.
Yesterday i made about a million adenas on training (B) automated (O) Players (T) in noob area, they were 4 DE dagger with bronze set, they are now all naked, i got all their hp pot, soe, and a crap load of thread xD
It took some time but hell it was fun :p
Yes I was only my second PKer on Teon earlier, I really wanted to level him to 20-- when I went to the DE swamplands, there were over 30 bots with the same names all consisting of a random set of letters located in the middle line of the keyboard: ASDFGHJKL. They were all male dwarves with top non-grade fists, top non-grade heavy armor and newbie buffs (life cubic, etc).
I was training them at spiders nest in de area. Was the funniest thing a group of 4 lowbie reds came by and pk'd me and the farmers. I tried to explain they wouldnt get anything from pking them but ohh well had a good laugh from it after I started killing them and they all started logging off or bsoeing.
