I'm going to be SK in few levels so it's time for me to plan my future skill tree, equip and tatoos. Because I'm complete n00b in this topic, I'd like to ask for advice, thanks in advance.
Skills:
1) After 2nd transfer SK gets hate aura and life leech in addition to hate and Drain Health - this means I should learn both skills of the same type or choose one and forget about the other?
2) focus mind, corpse plague - this looks like a waste of SPs to me - or am I mistaken?
3) Currently I gave up on learning Deflect Arrow and Confusion, I don't find any use for these skills - if anyone knows any serious advantages of both, please share :)
Equip:
I'm aiming for Full Plate armor (not set, I'm not the kind of person that would pay ungodly amount of adena for a small boost in defence) and a sword... but I don't have a slight clue what kind od sword :confused: Is it possible to fight thru C grade with Delu Sword? or is it better to save more for better one?

Lately I read very good topic on that matter and It was very helpful. I decided I'll go for +4 str -4 con, +4 dex -4 con. Last slot I'll save for something that wil help my magic skills :) I'm not sure yet if I should go for more MP or faster cast time :) I'll be grateful for any help :)
Don't ever consider buying dual swords... if you don't have money to afford c-grade at 40 get an elven long sword. You are better off with a sword because of masteries.
You cna't ever increase men as a fighter. So no tat will give u +++mp. Your tat setup looks fine... i woulnd't touch my mage stats since slower cast is bad and less dmg is bad...
1.You will be using ALL of these. Hate when soloing for Duoing, Hate Aura when in a Group against Group Mobs. Life Leech to get 75% health returned (weak attack), and Life Drain which is 15% health returned (strong attack), use Cbsps on both for greater affect.
2. FOCUS MIND IS TEH PWN!!! Seriously, dont you want more MP for your Hexes, Power Breaks, and Stings? I know I do. Corpse plague is a Good thing to do every once in a while when surrounded by mobs, but i dont find myself using it all the time. Worthwhile with Cbsps.
3. Deflect Arrow is good with PVE and PVP, dont expect arrows not to do damage, they will still hurt, just not as much with it on. Confusion is useless for a SK.
Equipment:
I suggest Full Plate and eaither a SOD /w Health SA for parties or a SLS /w Focus SA for soloing. Both will do you fine.
I also woundnt worry about tattoo just yet, your much too young for that!
your new drain is a low damage high %hp regen drain. You will do less damage with it, but you will get more hp back from this one than your old one. Im in A grade and I still use both constantly. And hate aura is NOT a replacement for hate. Hate aura is AoE hate, and it costs more mp than hate. You will use both, and cant do without one or the other really.
And deflect arrow is only "useless" if you are not getting hit by arrows :) when you PvP an archer, or fight archer mobs, believe me deflect arrow is great.
corpse plague is not all that useful. I use it sometimes when I get several mobs on me, but just for fun, it really isnt an impressive skill, and Im sure you could live without it.
You wont use confuse much unless you like to grief people or bots. If you like to do any of those things its very handy.
focus mind is very helpful. As a tank, or fighting solo, you will use a lot of mp on hate, hate aura, drains, hex, sting, etc. Focus mind helps you regen mp.
Full plate is good, but really the bonus is great, if you cant buy one, maybe you could get some friends ro eventually help you farm the parts and craft one. The little bonus is very nice.
And I would start using a sword and shield pretty soon. It fits your masteries, both for sword and shield.
as for -8 con....... I shudder to think about a DE with -8con at your level. I think stun will land on you 100% and youll die in no time.
-BUT-
there are a lot of ways to build SK and it really depends on what your gonna do most the time. If you are gonna be a tank, then your gonna need to suppliment con at least a little. If you are just gonna DD, then go +str and dex, but dont go overboard, especially without the fullplate HP bonus. There are a few more ways, but for money and level I would say that these are the two main ones.

I see that I misjudged usefulness of some skills :), I'll try to make up for it ASAP :) As for my equip - I'm using sword and shield - I've always been, but believe me, you don't wanna know which :)
I see everybody is recommending SLS, but there's now way I'm gonna get it (at least before lvl 40, and I'm being really optimistic here :)), so I guess I try to get Delu, as Raven suggested...

hmmm... well... I'll save the tatoo making for higher levels, 5x for example :)
I used a sword of delusion until lvl 50, not to bad really. I used the rest of my adena to get fp armor later on aswell. I used chain till i could afford fp,just so i could use my shield sills.
As previous post said before on focus mind is good, and confusion not really needed. As far as deflect arrow goes, i always get it. I for one mostly fight archer mobs and it does help very much. Plus a lot of pkers use bows and every little bit helps.
Tatoos are tricky sometimes, I got my first tatoo at level 60. I think if you solo a lot its not really to bad, because your drain,hex,life leech will helpout.
