What the hell are you thinking? A server wide event GK. Glad your looking for ways to reward the teams, but you do know that this is a PVP game. One in which killing someone else actually causes that person to lose things.
Unless your server sits around holding hands outside of a seige and only pretend to be intrested in PVP this "prize" has ruined the whole tourney for some of the servers.
Why would the winning team want to give their enemies a xp advantage cause they won the battle tourney?

This is like saying : What ever team wins the world cup, that region they live in will all get nuclear weapons as a reward.
Someone suggested the gatekeeper event cats be a prize for the winning server soon after they were removed. This shows that NCSoft does listen to our suggestions contrary to what many think. I, for one, welcome the event cats.
IMO the reward should have been something like "passes" which are given to the winners of the tournie, they can then use the passes for the teleports, and could sell them to other or hand them out to their clan/alliance. The GM's in their desperation to please us overlooked once again server politics and the like.
I think the point is that it's a pvp game and a TON of pvp happens when those event gk's where around. I cant speak for your server but for Gustin things where very interesting with those cause it was easy to hunt people down. If you dont like the idea why do you tell your server not to win. Anyway i would kind of enjoy the event Gk's again they make things easier and more interesting.

The winners also get the A grade helmet and jackpot money, so they will be happy regardless.

Hmm ok when was the last time you went up to a person your at war with and said "Man we have been killing you a lot lately, come lets group and get some of the xp back for ya."
I think the point is to involve more people in the event. This event is for the select few who are high enough and lucky enough to get their names in on time. While it is a cool event, most players will not be able to participate or benefit from it. Even though most players won't be "doing all the work" like those who actually compete, it will make them feel more involved.
Here's an analogy for ya - It's like a high school whose football team has made it to the state championships. Even if you don't like the guys on the football team, you still want them to win, because the principle promised the whole school would get a week without homework if they did.
There are different levels of loyalty and competition. Even if you hate those guys on the football team and they hate you and your friends, you are still a member of that school and when it comes to your school vs. another school, you want your school to win, you want your school to crush that other school.
Anyway, like someone said, if you don't like it, don't win. If you hate those other guys so much that you'd rather not get any reward at all than allow them the slightest bit of fun, then fine, whatever, your choice. I for one like the idea.
Another thing... these event gatekeepers make it much easier for Raidboss farmers to control the raids. I've noticed a vast improvement in the availability in RB's since these were removed, I for one am hoping my server doesn't win.
they just dont want their egos hurt by getting ganked like they do on Devianne (covenant)
I could give a laundry list of things they do devianne just to gain unfair advantages and they are all about holding down not just their enemies but everyone on the server because they dont want any real competition ever. ( I wont go into the particular's but im sure people can figure it out on their own)
The GK is an awsome reward. Devianne will enjoy it very much thank you. If not we kill KoS our teams. :p
You will also have an XP advantage. So it evens out. A server wide reward makes it a server wide event. If you can't kill your enemies trying to XP for 2 weeks oh wll. XP more then them and get them after the GK is gone.
People complain cus they can't use the lame, camping port spot pk. :)
