Of course, this post is not about smarties. It's about reading habbits.
When I log in to the board, I usually go for a quick tour of the locked threads. Those are usually pretty good material, since it means the OP had some kind of point, but somehow it got out of hand so it had to be closed. BIG gold star to Mistryl for a quick explanation and link to rules on every post she locks. **** you peeps should have seen it before...
Then, I'll look at the ones that have a nice title or something other than the "default" book icon. I also check out some specif posters. You need XP on a board to do that tho.
Then I'll go for high activity threads, unless they are crappy subjects like bots or ebayers.
After, I browse around. That's more complicated.
What are your reading habbits on a board ? What do you go for first ?
I Start at off-topic and work my way up, going back to the page i read the previous day which is usually page 2-3, then work my way forwards, that way i miss nothing, and can give my crappy opinion/argument.
Happy Birthday too i guess.
I'll usually just go for a thread that gets my attention (and one that doesn't involve bots/farmers, too many of those threads). And, if get a feeling it could be fairly high activity, and i could say something constructive i'll post in it. However, at times, i'll just start argueing for the "losing" side even when i don't care about the topic, or actually agree with the other people. (see vampiric rage for prophets in game suggestions.)
EDIT: I also tend to aim for game suggestions, then i'll go to general discussion.
I Can't beleive I can still get peeps with that trick. All you long time users know my REAL birthday (I had a very good thread called Where the Hell is my cake ! (I made it on my actual birthday)) but it was pruned...
I'll give you hint, we are close...
I forgot... I always check out for new stickies... Most of the time no new ones... but it's what I do first...
I check my server forums first looking for any juicy new drama. Then I move on to the general discussion forums and check any locked threads (if it's bad enough to be locked, it's gotta be good). Then I just kinda pick at random.
EDIT: I also tend to aim for game suggestions, then i'll go to general discussion.
I usually live in the general discussion area. Back in the days, if I posted anywhere else, it was instantly deleted. ROFL. Kept the dog in a cage.
So now I love my cage, it's a place of comfort and security.
Muahhahahahahahaha ! Dogs are so stupid !
Nowadays, I sometimes wanders around, but usually it's to see where the threads i directed went to. ROFL, sometimes a hard look is just enough to get a post moved or deleted.

2. General Discussion, whatever looks interesting
3. Game Suggestios, whatever looks interesting
4. Player Questions, whatever looks interesting
5. Server Forum if the Icon tells me a new message there
Only from time to time
6. General Technical Issues
First a quick glance at Player Questions, then to Suggestions and from there to General Discussion to spam in threads like this >.>
Threads concerning Orcs, economy and game balance are the ones I usually check first. Couldnt care less about how subclassed toons should be able to ride a strider without a penalty while they're infact lvl 40 etc.
Teon section is a bit boring and almost dead on official forums but I still check it. Blah is much better for server discussions tho :)
Usually I first go for the delicious drama on my server boards... it was very very quiet over a long time, but lately a bit more activity there... I like it.
Then... Screenshots and Fanart... pretty pics... discussion about style... easy for the eye and mind (after the exhausting drama) and usually quickly finished.
General discussion after... I start with the newest threads and with whatever looks interesting... depends a lot on my moot. I always check locked threads as well because there must be something funny to it. :) Mys does a good job there but I liked Sarge's style better when it came to making a remark about why a thread is closed. ;)
After that when I still have time and am not too tired I go for player questions... skip most of it... only if a thread about economics, dwarf gameplay or something I always wondered about springs to the eye I check it out.
The game suggestion and tech support boards are hardly ever visited... I get enough whining and over-the-edge suggestions about hardware, software, balance and gameplay in the general discussion area. ;) Enough for my taste.
While eating smarties I always eat the color of which I have most left... so I have the full range left to pick from until the very end. :p Dunno if that says something good or bad about myself... maybe I'm just weird.
I mean I look for my threads first (since they are obviously better than everybody elses ;) ), then I look for friends threads. After that I have a quick browse through the off topic forum, then look through suggestions, then look for posts in general by lesser mortals. :D

No you're not. It shows you have a sense of balance, justice and logic.
When I eat smarties, I seperate all the colors. Then I take one of each color in my hand. Then I'd place my other hand over them and shake them around. Then I'd close my eyes, hold all the smarties in one hand, and pick one with my other hand. Then I opened my eyes and ate the poor smartie who was picked.
I replaced it with one of the same team (color) and repeat, until there was only one color left. All those still living of the same color were not eaten, and returned to the wild.
I'm a complete sucker for newbies. I always go to the player questions forum first, and then general discussion. If I'm feeling cranky I'll go to suggestions and tell people why their suggestions are utterly moronic, but generally I avoid that section. Sometimes I go to Gustin but only when I've taken an overdoes of prozac. I always take a quick last look at the off-topic forum.
