In the past month i've tried to buy 2 friends lineage2 at gamestop, and ebgames. I managed to get one at Gamestop, only because the store clerk realized he saw one old copy in the back. Then i checked 2-3 EBGames and they were all out. I bet if NCSoft released more discs/an updated C4 release, or atleast something, we would have more of an influx of players.
NCsoft prolly has a sales and a marketing staff... maybe they are combined... i don't know... these people have/do research about things like this... they have a pretty good idea about the costs/benefits that they will receive from releasing more copies to stores... bottom line... it isn't good for NCsoft's margins, or they would do it. I don't know y people post on a game forum telling NCsoft how to run their company... If you don't like they way they are doing it, buy stock and vote.
I didn't tell them what to do, or how to run their company. I just showed how hard it is to get a box version of Lineage 2 nowadays. Isn't it a bad thing when people want to buy the game but can't find it anywhere?

Why would NCSoft want you to buy the game in the store for $20 when they can earn $50 making you purchase it online?
You know, I haven't checked any of our stores for it. Not for several months. I wonder if they're easier to find here now? I don't remember seeing them in passing...
On Sunday, my friend and I went hunting for timecards. At Best Buy, there were ZERO copies of L2 on the shelf, but TONS of COH and COV, even the Auto Assault preorder box had love. :( There were only four timecards left on the shelf.
We asked the sales staff if they had Lineage 2. They looked at me as if I had three heads. I then asked if they had any more timecards, and they said they didn't sell timecards. I showed them the box in my hand and they said they don't sell timecards without the game. I showed them the WRITING ON THE BOX that said GAME TIME CARD, and they said they would check to see if they sell timecards. :eek: After FIFTEEN MINUTES OF READING THE BOX TO THEM and pointing to the SINGLE timecard in it, they said, "Oh. Is that a timecard?"
I swear, I did not make this up.
We went to CompUSA to see if BestBuy was just on crack.
There were ZERO L2 anything in the store, but so many COH and COV stuff and boxes upon boxes of timecards. I asked someone if they had L2 and he said, "Is that out?"
I was told at Eb games months ago they stopped stocking the game. Best Buy is the only place that i have seen the game as of recent. They always have the same copies that was there the week before. Word of mouth at its best, time for Ncsoft to get on it.
Just went to best buy in my area. They had about 10 copies of the old 2 month times cards, none of the new ones with the free game account. Best buy had no game though, just the time cards. The EBGames about 3 mins away walking had no time cards or game accounts.
www.l2blah.com (http://www.l2blah.com) used to sell the new time cards. NCsoft stepped in and told them to stop selling them for some reason.
I do my own advertising for the game. You can imagine how strange (hhmmm...and perhaps strangely exciting) it is for them to hear me speak so passionately for L2.
I wonder if I show them my RustNC tattoo....... :eek:
