What I mean is, for example, are swords more likely to hit than daggers?
For example, if you have a Sword of Revolution and a Mithril Dagger are you more likely to hit, per swing, with the SoR than with the MD? Or are all weapons (not including sa's) the same?
Blunts have a bonus to accuracy and a minus to crit rate.
Daggers have a bonus to crit rate and speed, but a minus to accuracy.
Swords are kind of a happy medium.
There's more to it, but I'm too lazy to type it all out.. ;)
you will also find that the crit rate on a weapon is the inverse scale. So daggers crit a lot but miss a lot. blunts on the other had hit all the time but rarely crit.
I've been using daggers a ton lately and I've noticed just what you say: I crit more, but I also miss more. On the other hand, my character that uses swords all the time misses way less, but on the other hand crits are rare. I guess I was just wondering if it was coincidence or not.
The best way to find out was to actually try it on. I would go to a NPC weapon store and try the weapon on, go to the status window and look at accuracy and critical. Though critical and atk speed is higher with a dagger, accuracy is lower. And with sword is the other way around. Critical and atk speed lower, accuracy higher. I think it's the same regardless of weapon grade but im not sure about this. I know it does change with enhancements like haste and focus, but unenhanced weapons should be the same comparison.
Personally I have used a +6 mythril dagger from 30+ on my prophet and I missed so much, but when my attack landed it was great. I did not know about the accuracy, so I went to Mammon and got a +6 elven long sword, and I could not believe the difference. I hit so much better, just fewer criticals. I honestly suggest going swords or blunts for the accuracy, but if you have dagger masteries it might be different. Hope this helped :)
