Dark Wiz questions

Hi
Does any one know what the benifits/diffrenences are for the two summons, shadow and shilouette?

Also what is the skill higher mana gain for? does it only work if you have a recharger?
One is meant for PVE and takes 30% of exp when hunting, and another is meant for PVP and takes 70%(?) of your exp when hunting.
sinhouette takes 90%

sihouette has a nuke, due to her low matk it isn't that grat. Shadow has a passive VR.
Higher mana gain allows the Dark Wiz to gain a higher mana gain benefit when being "recharged".

However, another way to go is to just use body to mind and then have the healer give you a heal or two. works great.

Also, my advice is don't bother with the summons unless you plan on going summoner at 40.
So basically there is no point in investing in the summon or the silhoutte? That kinda sucks I'm hoping to probably go SH with my dark elf but I'm not sure yet to get either of those skills should I get one for a while well I level or just forget about them?

Well, let's put it this way. I got the summons (long time ago) used it once in Cruma (back when people used to lvl in Cruma) and never used it again.

Reason is that it doesn't really last that long and has a loooong reuse timer. If you look at how the classes are created, at each stage you get a taste of what a possible next class change could be like.

So, when you are in ng, you get healing spells. However, at lvl 20 you then get a choice, healer or nuker.

Same seems to go with skills at lvl 20. You get a taste of what a summoner would have but you only get "the real" skills at lvl 40.

The only reason I can think of to get the summon is to act as a lure for mobs or something like that. Otherwise, as a spellhowler you really don't use it. There might be Spellhowlers who do but I don't know of any.

However, if you want to try it out go for it. Believe me, you will be getting A LOT of skill points coming your way. The amount you use to get that summon is beyond microscopic in comparison of what you will be spending on skills. As I've mentioned in other similiar posts, I spent over 9.5 million in skill points for the lvl 72 skills I use.

Now compare that to whether or not one gets that summon. Not a big deal. (and it's fun to show new players :p )
The main problem is that the cooldown on summons pre 40 is about 4 hours and really you don't have any of the key skills. Being a wizard is a good preview of a SH but rarely do you get a chance to experament with pets.

I agree, but like I said, it's a "taste" so to speak. They should give you a better cool down though.
Yeah, currently it's a big gamble to go summoner. I mean i really didn't know what to expect when i hit 40 and honestly it wasn't exactly what i expected. I love my class don't get me wrong but i know a lot of people who thought they would and never got past 45 on their summoner.
