there is only ONE elven support role if you desire to play as such.
i have a bishop for a main so i know what i am talking about.
as an elven mystic you will be taking the path of elven oracle - elven elder.
as an elf, youve got faster cast speed than us lowly humans, at the expense of lower intelligence.
this means your sleep and root will be faster casted, but may not land as well as it could. you will want to obtain Mithril robes for your 20-40 level progression and from there get the divine robe set, then at lvl 52 theblue wolf robe set, then at lvl 61 if you ever get that high go for the majestic set.
after level 20 your weapon wont matter much because you will no longer be getting any skills that do damage. instead, pinch your pennies and save for a good Crystal Staff or Soulfire Dirk with the special ability: Mana Up. more on this later.
the mithril robes will cost you around 2.5million - 3.5million depending who you buy from. getting them right at lvl 20 wont be so easy even if youve got some rich friends. there are a few ways to grab that kind of cash fast; 1) do a raid. 2) make a scavenger alt and play two accounts, 3) continuous questing.
the main thing about raiding is that you know how and when to heal the tank in order to conserve mana, and how and when to riad a boss effectively. there is a posted thread on raiding a few threads down, view it at your leisure but i will tell you this about raiding here: only do a raid where NOBODY in the party is higher level than the raid boss.
this provides a good mix of challenge and reward as well as experience.
if youre lucky in your raid, some useful and expensive items can drop, so be sure to raid well and often. killing a riad boss is relatively a hard task for somone inexperienced. all you have to do is work together and you will accomplish it, but the biggest and most painful truth is that it takes time and effort AND MOST IMPORTANTLY co-ordination. rading is a very popular thing to do so once you hit 20, and have change from elven mystic to elven oracle, be sure to load up your new skills, and begin raiding.
keep doing this until you think you are a fairly accomplished raider and you should be 30 in a week. begin to do harder raid or begin to purchase your equipment when you have sold yourdrops off in the various towns.
if you arent sure what the price is of something, it is always appropriate to post on the boards or pm on the boards. most raid bosses drop scrolls of enchant. these are used to increase your weapons power or increase your armors effectiveness. use at your own discretion (i never use them, bit money sink if u ask me) and sell them for big moolah when you get them.
if you get 1 scroll per boss, then at an average price of 300k each (at level 20-30) you can potentially make 3m. the normal adena you make while grinding should be enough to fund your Spritshot consumption, and teleport costs. mind you, you wont make 1 level per raid boss, or 1 scroll per boss. sometimes you get 10 per boss, other times the boss only gives 1 out to a random player. mostly they drop other tings too. not just scrolls. bu the potential is there.
as a support class, you have no way to level but while grouped. you also have no way to PVP effectively at higher levels, so beware.
make sure you DO NOT BUY the skill "kiss of eva". it is utterly useless as it increases breath gauge only. it may change, but i have never had to use it, and neither should you.
when you hit lvl 40 and have completed the second class transfer, you will have a much more interesting time of grouping as the Elven Elder has some cool features:
BIG heals. you acquire these good heals at lvl 48 and they need new spellbooks.
Movement based buffs. like evasion boosters, windwalking, fast attackspeed etc, etc. see the skills section for more infos.
there is also the special abilities i mentioned before; these are only on C grade and upward weapons. you may find one ability of your weapon suited to you more than another, one in particular that will be one of your greatest assets. the Mana Up special ability which boosts your Mana by a whopping 30%. there are others inherent to other weapons, but i would say another of the best abilities you could want is the Bless the Body ability which boosts the HP of the target when a good magic spell is cast upon the target.

for a good list (not complete or up to date just yet) of these abilities and beside the weapon name, what level of soul crystal youll need to put that ability on. its an easy to read index and one not provided by any other source.
who knows perhaps you will find that the Acumen SA will be best suited to you.
but levelling to 20 should be the first goal. do your class transfer quest at Priest Manuel in gludio town and you will be off to the races. keep the board locked and loaded for any questions you might have during that time and please FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND JUST do not ever ever ever ever ever feel shy. we dont bite that hard on newbies :)
