NCsoft reveals E3 lineup
MMORPG specialist is first publisher to announce games for May's game expo; Tabula Rasa, new Guild Wars campaign headline.
As members of the industry prepare for their annual pilgrimage to Los Angeles by packing aspirin, earplugs, and homemade hangover cures, game publishers are readying their games for show at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. NCsoft is the first publisher to reveal which of its wares will appear at the Los Angeles Convention Center May 10 to 12.
The sci-fi-centric Tabula Rasa, from NCsoft's Austin, Texas studio, headed up by Richard Garriott, will be on the show floor. The PC game is currently scheduled to be released later this year.
Also making an appearance will be the next chapter in ArenaNet's Guild Wars franchise, though it will only be shown behind closed doors. The recently released Guild Wars Factions, on the other hand, will be playable by attendees.
Rounding out the games shown on the exhibition-hall's floor is a trio of titles. NCsoft has high hopes for Aion, an MMORPG set for release later this year in Korea, and will be showing the latest build of the PC game. Dungeon Runners, a fantasy-based MMOG, and Exteel, an online game featuring fighting robots, will also be on display.
GameSpot will bring more info from NCsoft at this year's E3 next month.
Okay, so I am hoping there will be some L2 love at the show. Anyone official know if the game will be on the floor?
I'm curious to hear more about the other MMOs on the list.

We do not plan to have Lineage II playable on the show floor this year. We will have staff attending the show (including myself) to answer Lineage II questions from attendees, press, and fan sites.
If someone does go ask why the bot problem in this game is so much worse than any other on the current market. Also an answer on why NA hasnt banned IPs like Korea did to save their core gamers the grief we play with day in and day out.
See it would be pointless for me to go, because i would be at the RFonline booth.

That sucks, a bit suprised too, see that C4 was a game in an of itself with all the new content and land added.
I am a bit on edge to see what they have for Tabla Rasa.

Uh oh..you told them you would be gone for E3! I can just hear the poster's plotting. I wonder who will rule with the iron fist in the velvet glove while you are gone?
thats compleetley dissapointing. plaync doesent care about l2 it seams
But then again, they don't have City of Heroes/City of Villains either. Seems to me they want to use this E3 to push their new games Which makes sense as space might be limited and these new games don't have any revenue coming in so they want to make sure that they eventually do.

But no, it isn't a new game. It has more mobs to grind in different landmasses, more gear to grind for, a subclass system to grind for, a nobless system to grind for, animal ears to grind for, baby pets to grind for, hmm...yep there is a lot more to grind for, and not much new stuffs! Maybe the Hero Competitions for when you grinded forever to grind to kill a guy to get glowing stuff and chat to the world. Oh, all so very new, I would agree, they added 80% more grind to the game, grind that players are not that excited about, why not...lets talk about it at E3! Pfft...see my point?

If all goes well with my work schedule I'll be there! WOOOOOT! :D
Banning IPs does not work, as it does not in Korea. The Koreans are also having a major problem with the Chinese stealing people personal ID numbers so they can get in to the game. In most of Asia you have to use your SSN to get in to a game. And right now Korea has had over 200,000 people get their SSNs stolen by Chinese farmers. So don't say that it is a NA problem only, our problems are way less than the problems that Korea has with the Chinese farmers. This info was on the news the other day.
So yes the NCsoft Korea knows there is a problem, as soon as they find a way to keep Chinese hackers out of the Korean server I am sure they will let us know.

Ew....that just....well...SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad that's not happening over here! And I'm kinda curious as to what Mistryl looks like. I mean, the individual is always talking to us here and there!
I'll get a picture WITH Mistryl! May the travel budget gods be merciful.....

So essentially, what you're saying is, you have a much better job than me.
LOL...um...yeah. My job rocks! :D Today's work agenda: meeting with BioWare - Austin. Someone pinch me?
E3 is an industry trade event. In past years, you can buy a floor pass or conference pass to see all the new games, but you couldn't get into to private viewings/parties/networking stuff. This year they've really toughened the admittance policy so I don't know if non-industry folks can do this.
As for being at IBM...it's a computer company. You can make the argument that it provides platforms for gaming, which would get you in. :D

While I have been busy with work lately, fear not (or for Mistryl, fear!), I will be there to molest any Lineage II staff in attendance.
And this time, since its E3 and not a developer conference, I will be sure to snag some ninja photos of Mistryl for everyone.

Every year I go to E3 and ask about different game mechanics, or future plans. They don't tell me anything! In fact it seems that the people working the floor actually don't know much.. o.0
I'll take some pics this year.. ;) And actually have some from last year.. NCSoft had the best performance of all of E3 last year.. Lets hope for a repeat...!!
