Seems the chinese government is worried about its citizens playing too many online games and are thinking about banning people from owning more than 1 online gaming account.
lol... crazy. Funny, since traditionally, you can only play one game at a time. And if you bot, say, a whole party, you're not actually playing at all. Who knows, the owner of the accounts might be doing homework while running the train. :p
actually if lineage NA would impose a max time of online/play per account say 12 hours that would sure help and for several reasons, some social, health and geo-political also making a precedent which would be favourd by governments:
it is known that MMORPGs are addictive, it would be a good way to help addicts and their families and friends.
it would be a way of fighting bots and powelers. and if bots want to stay online for that 12 hours they lose, it means buying another account = more money for NCsoft.
Raidbosses would be more accessible.
health: staying/sitting hours of no end in front of the computer causes wrist problems, back problems, inactivity problems. all are considered major health issues, by moving this way NCsoft would gain significant advantages from local governments and their favor. applicated in the countries present thats lot of governments.
social: People would also get to do other things instead of lineage2: all from playing other games (more money for gaming production community), get outside and do stuff with other people. and so on.
It would liberate the occupation of the servers and by that lag as well.
it would decrease the afk shops, something some players might not like and with reason.
implementing this would go through a 5th chronicle, a curiosity of new things would reduce the number of players wanting to leave.
so I am pretty sure your bosses, Mystril, would like to hear about this. it sure has something for them.
having said all that, i might need to hide in a city, never to get out out of fear to get PKes by entire bot community.
You tell me i can only play 12 hours a day in that 12 hours i need to setup shop craft do all clan leader activities and still manage to level while the top players are a good 6 - 8 levels above me and on subclasses how will the casual player ever catch up?
casual player does not play more than 4 hours a day, powerplayer play 15+ hours when they can. powerleveling players play and bots play 24/7/365. limiting the last 2 on that 12 hour/day timeframe will help casual/powerplayers to catch them up :)
ok, something most people ignore, though i must say i am not sure of this myself: while working the computer its radiating energy (any body on the planet radiates, from a human body, passing by the rock to electric appliances and gadgets, of course these radiations arent comparable with the levels of those of nuklear reactors, which are really bad). computer components are composed of many heavy metals, which over the years emanate from the components into.. you guest it: your room. and you being in that same room makes you recevear of those heavy metals. of course with the current trial and error methods, it will be a while before a research confirming this will come. the point is: these heavy metals arent immediate risk, nor is their quantity in great importance, but it will, in a long run have an important impact on a human life, like health. yes i know this seems far fetched.
It's about .5 microcuries per year, roughlyt the amount you absorb by having a americium smoke detector in your house and less than eating bananas regularly.
also americium is the standard type of smoke detector and if you live in the US your building codes require them in all new or remodeled housing units.

So many people seem to have a problem with afk shops.. What you gonna do when you need to upgrade your equipment or just shop around to make money? The only problem with afk shops IMO, is when they clog up areas, so you can't get past. Lag isn't even that bad, if you check [lower detail].
