Found this interesting post while cruising sites. It's a short story but not too bad. I'll cruise sites in their public areas and post other stories as I find em.

I've been there when she felt the cruel sting of cold steel. I watched as she sank to the earth thundering out in defeat as life was slowly drawn from her. Her initial feeling must have been one of arrogance for she charged our numbers without hesitation but soon.....her arrogant display of courage began its transformation into that which Orfen knows so little....FEAR.

Orfen and her band of marauders clashed with an Alliance known as Solidarity. Little was known about this band of insignificants but much could be said from what followed. There were many experienced souls that were dealt a horendous defeat by Orfen in days past. Those present that have experienced that defeat were not here by mere chance. Nor were these warriors here as a means to test their abilities on the battlefield...... for in every eye I saw an unmistakeably steely gaze that could only be described in one word....REVENGE.

Long have the moments been for some that have waited for the time that would mark in them the end of a foe that has stained their very lives with hatred in the uttering of her name. It is easy enough to want to join the hordes that have clashed with this foul creature but to have witnessed the carnage...to have lived it......and then to see that silhouette in the distance, hardened the hearts of those that traveled to face her again.

With fearless abandon the warriors of Solidarity charged the field as Orfen advanced. In some cases the mere echo of her heavy steps sending the crashing sounds of her massive legs into your ears would have been enough to send a bolt of intense fear coursing through you....and in an instant....your fight was over. Not this day. This was a day of courage that will live on in the hearts of those that were fortunate enough to experience it.

Swords flashing against the sky were brought down against thickly armored skin that did not seem to bare the signs of injury but this did not deter the attackers. Arrows and bolts of magical energy crashed into the body of Orfen as she brought down her mighty limbs upon us. But what seemed an impossibility in the arrogant eyes of our foe became reality. Orfen was failing.

Soon a feeling began to dwell on Orfen and she was afraid. Her existence was nearing an end and in desperation she used magic that had not been previously seen before this encounter. Suddenly and without warning Orfen and her crippled minions vanished. Never had this been observed by anyone of us till that day. The victory we so earnestly yearned for snatched from before us. Anger soon turned to rage. Would we ever witness the downfall of this miserable beast!!? Suddenly a silver ranger was rushing over to us. His eyes revealed an earnest to inform us as he explained that in years past it was said that a party of adventurers had come to vanquish Orfen. The battlefield was riddled with bodies and none of them was Orfen but the signs of pursuit were unmistakable. When the tracks were followed none of them belonged to their foe but to the pursuers only.

This struck hard a blow in the minds of the party that found the shattered remains of those that had pursued Orfen to her Lair. For at the center of the nest they could see that the adventurers had fallen. The bodies of the remaining adventurers that were finally struck down by the horde were scattered throughout the nest as if Orfen had hunted them one by one. They could not enter to gather the remains due to a field that caused them damage as they tried to enter.

Hearing this the Solidarity Alliance knew that what they witnessed was the same as what the Elf had just described. They pondered that if that group had fought Orfen so valiantly and caused her to port out and still suffered a horendous loss what fate lay in waiting for them at the center of the nest where her powers are obviously more formidable. An orc pushed forward and roared out "We must not wait!! She regains her strength while we stand here and COWER!"

At that very moment tiredness was replaced with renewed energy and the party quickly made the trek to the center of the nest. They arrived at the rim of the nest and, just as the elf had told them, as they entered within the life was being drained from them. We pressed onward deeper into the bowels of her hideously grotesque domain. Orfens black magic had taken hold draining us all and before we could decide what was actually happening Orfen was upon us.

The attack was more brutal this time. Orfen could not afford to allow us a single shred of hope that we could defeat her. More of her minions arrived and the fight seemed hopeless. Through the blood and sweat of all those souls hope still lingered. Blades fell and the air was filled with the wisps of arrows and the crackle of magic. The battle was deafening. One could only imagine how this onslaught might have looked from a distance. I like to believe that anyone that may have witnessed this would have felt the same courage as we did and their sword would soon ring out with ours side-by-side as strangers with a common purpose. Brothers and sisters in-arms raging against this devil child.

And if you recall in the first part of my story. Orfen was afraid. We had stung her already and we pressed the battle hard even under the adverse conditions of her curse. Life was slipping away from her as well as from us. Our healers fought so valiantly for every ounce of mana they could recover to keep us going. Soon Orfen cried out. Her armor had been breached by the dagger of an Abyss Walker and she began to bleed. Her foul fluid flowed and the stinch was so unspeakable that you had to fight for air as we continued to crack her armor more and more. Years of her vile exisitance and the black magics that produced her must have been the reasons for her putrid odor so foul as it was. The blood seemed to put the orcs into a frenzy as their savage nature came to life and it was as if it was able to energize their bodies. She was dying and we would see the end of it. Her frame stumbling from one direction to the next as the agonizing pain began to over-take her. She lashed out fiercely but her attacks grew weaker. Finally, a roar that would turn your soul cold escaped from Orfen and her body fell, crashing into what was once her mighty domain. Her cry echoed through the canyon for what seemed like eternity and then all was silent except for the wind rushing over her spent carcass.

A joyous horah went out as all those present rejoiced in the down-fall of what seemed an un-ending foe. Some simply wept as they remembered loved ones that had fallen before her. They cried out that they had avenged them and that she could no longer spread her pestilence anymore. It was a great and wonderful day.

Yes...I was there when she fell. There was no greater satisfaction that day than to have been there....to have lived that moment with those valiant souls.
