Hi. I am currently a l35 wizard heading towards Spellsinger. With mp downtime grinding is getting a bit slow. So I was wondering, has anyone ever used a bow or various weapons to continue on when mp gets low? I noticed we have generic weapon certs, so I was thinking this might be viable, just don't want to waste the cash without beiong sure.
Thanks!
As a robe user withuot root, you should never ever use a bow. On top of that, a bow uses MP as well. My suggestion to you is to find one of those healers lfg, and make a friend or two. Their skills may be low now, but a friend today is a friend tomorrow too.
As a spellsinger you don't really have the run speed or the Pdef/Patk to use a bow properly. You may also find your lack of accuracy an issue. You also don't have any bow spacific skills. Not to mention the fact that using a bow will also drain mana. The real reson you have general weapon masterys is due to the fact that mage weapons come in many forms, i.e. Blunts, swords, daggers. So sadly your just gonna have to wait it out or find a SE/EE to follow you around
Thank you both very much. Glad I didn't buy the bow then :) The friends I have made in game have been good enough to help me out with a mithril set and weapon. We are waiting for me to hit 40 so I can join raids. Guess I'll just need to be patient.
You do know that your boxer unicorn has a mana recharge skill right? (Which stacks with higher mana gain)
Yes, you will lose 30% while it is up, but you do not summon it until AFTER you are almost out of mana.
Use the boxer to XP some more when you would have been sitting... (you would have gotten ZERO during this time...)
If you are not familiar with pets you can just have him follow you along for awhile and recharge you. If you feel saucy, learn to use him as a melee unit on another target.
You would be surprised how useful he can be if you practice with him.
This is not a complete fix as he will run out and you will not be able to summon him again for awhile, but while he is up you should have zero downtime.
Since Elven wizards have massive downtime, every second you can be killing instead of sitting is a good thing.
