If lineage NA would impose a max time of online/play per account say 12 hours that would sure help and for several reasons, some social, health and geo-political also making a precedent which would be favourd by governments:
it is known that MMORPGs are addictive, it would be a good way to help addicts and their families and friends.
it would be a way of fighting bots and powelers. and if bots want to stay online for that 12 hours they lose, it means buying another account = more money for NCsoft.
Raidbosses would be more accessible.
health: staying/sitting hours of no end in front of the computer causes wrist problems, back problems, inactivity problems. all are considered major health issues, by moving this way NCsoft would gain significant advantages from local governments and their favor. applicated in the countries present thats lot of governments.
social: People would also get to do other things instead of lineage2: all from playing other games (more money for gaming production community), get outside and do stuff with other people. and so on.
It would liberate the occupation of the servers and by that lag as well.
it would decrease the afk shops, something some players might not like and with reason.
implementing this would go through a 5th chronicle, a curiosity of new things would reduce the number of players wanting to leave.
so I am pretty sure your bosses, Mystril, would like to hear about this. it sure has something for them.
having said all that, i might need to hide in a city, never to get out out of fear to get PKes by entire bot community.
now where is that anti-viral program...
ps. since the other thread was locked, but the topic was at fault.... i hope.

It's known that tobacco and alcohol cause addiction. Even coffee can be described as addictive, so should we limit them too more? What about TV shows? Let the people do as they please. If I want someone to tell me whats good and whats bad, that definetely aint a Company that I'm paying for the right to play.

Do you know how people powerlvl? They big boom(still works when you powerlvl lowbies) or use ES to AoE(summon AoE is still as good as in C3) and neither of those require long periods of time so actually you're not fighting powerlvling in any way. Instead you're making it harder for hardcore players and for bots, which can overcome it by playing 12hours on 1 server and 12 on another and they can all rotate this so they have the same amount of toons running on 1 server at a time. You'd also gimp market players hard and make it even harder for the working part of gamers who rely on AFK shopping entirely.
Raidbosses would be more accessible.
They're getting big bucks out of it, surely they would get a few more accounts or use the general rotation idea mentioned before.

Get a better chair and desk. A better keyboard and mousepad. Also, governments dont really give a **** about 1 game doing stuff like that since if you compare the amount of players L2 got to the overall amount of players there is it's really a small fraction and thus a nonfactor. Especially when those people are in no way prohibited from playing other games for the other 12 hours.
social: People would also get to do other things instead of lineage2: all from playing other games (more money for gaming production community), get outside and do stuff with other people. and so on.
Aint it my right to choose what I do with my time? Why should a company enforce me to "socialize"? And why would NCSoft want to give other companies more profit, lol.
It would liberate the occupation of the servers and by that lag as well.
Ye, it would liberate the servers as people would vote with their paychecks and switch to other games.
it would decrease the afk shops, something some players might not like and with reason.
Many people _need_ them since they dont have the time to spend sitting and watching their shops.
During the semester, I don't get to play much on weekdays. Taking my weekends off to do nothing but eat pudding, watch braindead television shows and play MMORPGs is what keeps me going during the week (I'd rather not do something strainful like going out if I'm already worn out from the week), so not being able to play for more than 12 hours would be a definite turn-off for me.
