Giran tax rate.

I was thinking of spending more time on the Devianne server.
I started a new char there who is very poor and does all the quests to make her way on the Devianne server. But omg! when she finally earned herself to finally buy her first brig armour she finds that the lord of Giren is obvioulsy a money grabing tyrant 25% is simply taking the the privalage to far.
oh well back to wooden gaters :(
I pulled up the castle control map for the server...Aden and Giran castle are controled by very familair names..MuneMasa and MasaMune..same allaince..Both cities are at 25%..Dion and Heine is also at 25%..Those leaders are on crack...Cheapest cities are Gludio and Gludin at 5%, and Oren at 8%..So buy everything you can in those two cities.

I never actualed looked..but can you get the brig from Oren...it never crossed my mind to look?
Goddard is at 15%

We kept Giran at 5% over base for around 6 months. Then someone threatened us with "If you raise the tax you will lose that castle". So we called their bluff, its been that way since.
Never mind the whole "running a **** manor so people don't have to care about the 25%" thing. :)

You shouldn't buy brig from the store anyway. You're probably better off looking for someone selling it in town. I bought a brig top in dion yesterday for 500k - at LEAST 300k less than the shops sell it for. Private Stores > Shops. :)
brig top is over 800k in Giran Shop?

Last time I checked, yes...
That doesn't sound right at all. From memory Brig top should be 380K or so in shop.
Go gludin take ship to rune buy there its same as if in giran where 5% tax @least will be till c5 ;f. For all D-grade stuff u can buy in giran.

with the game minimused as i type, the price of brig tunic is 403650a. gaiters 252,450a

you paid 500k for tunic? you must have bought in dion :)
Every Castle is now at 25% tax rate..this server sucks..
Except it rocks. There are many reasons to hate playing on Devianne (like all the jerks), but taxes seriously isn't one of them - and that's coming from a summoner, probably the class group that suffers most under taxes (because I have to pay out my -_- for pet SS with them this high :p ).

Learn the manor. It more than compensates for the taxes. Also, our inflated market values for materials are a godsend for newbies trying to get into their first armour and smart active-legit* players.

* To be fully legit, you have to never set a buy store or sell store with a good deal to try squeezing some money out of an ebayer. Active-legits just don't do any rule breaking things themselves and profit of the horrible state the game's economy is in - which isn't all that horrible if you consider that, because everyone can still get what they want.

This works takes time yes, but works. And to all the lords of manor's 5or 10% of something is alot better than 25% of nothing. So if you stop buying from towns with high taxes taxes will come down, this much is within our power to change.
Have Fun
Well the all castle 25% change was primarily due to Covenant taking Gludio and Oren last weekend. These two had the lowest (5% and 8% respectively) before being taken. It's most of the big clans that dictate the high prices so it's directly due to the politics... then, I expect most clans to be greedy.

Though as much as I do hate that tax rate, I agree again there's more things to base Devianne on.

I looked at the Seal of Strife's votes some time ago. It keeps going down and down each Seal period. In my opinion, soon it will be below the required 10% to reactivate it every turn, and Dawn will lose the Seal, forcing castle holders to revert to a 15% maximum tax rate.

In any case I think I'll start a self-embargo on Covenant castles, not buying from Gludio, Oren, Giran, or Aden based on my political beliefs ;)

theres more than covenant in those towns
bah

I don't mean from everyone in the town, I mean from the stores (NPC) in the town, which is all that takes tax.
Rune is still 5%

Rune is still 5%

It's not 5% - it has no castle to be taxed by. It may, however, have a 5% higher base price than either Giran or Starting Villages (don't remember which is cheaper)
Giran has a 25% tax rate because it can be set to that. When you own the castle, you can set it back to 5%, or whatever you want it to be. Most likely, after you see what it costs to hold a castle, you will set it to the highest amount possible.

Thanks for playing Lineage][.
Giran as a castle makes so much money, you don't even have to have a high Tax rate to cover the expenses... not even close... Depends how the manor is run too.... Dunno about your server, but Giran is the heaviest town (Gustin) .. when we had the castle, we had the lowest rates on the server, and had money coming out the ***.

Yes, I agree here. And in the case of Covenant, they don't need any extra defenses for the castle - every knows full well they stop any attacker on the siege field and end the battle there (so increased castle defenses, guards, etc --- they dont have to pay for these).

Plus they're hardly in a monetary need compared to other alliances. They probably don't have any real need to keep it as high as it is but I'm not going to complain - because they win their right from fighting the castle and that's it.
I would appreciate it if taxes were lowered. Probably not happening, but it would help the public and hurt the farmers, and that's good for everybody. Well, except the farmers of course.
