I was wondering if some of th elong time players could explain the Rite of Spring event that is coming up. I read the little blurp about it but was wondering what you must do. Kill the rabbiit? Root it and catch it? It doesnt really say and it appears this event has happened before but since I have only played since November '05 I havnt a clue about how it works. To date since I have played, I did really enjoy the pumpkin event.
Don't worry about the rabbit. They did the same thing last year, and tho I was on 6-8 hours a day, I never once found one of these rabbits. Quite possibly the lamest "Non" events NC came up with.
Don't listen to Pavlov. I found a set of bunnies back then. It's been changed this year but, basically, run all over creation looking for bunnies. The were hard to find and in groups. Kill the bunnies for awesome EXP. Last year they were grouped around a chest which was much harder to kill. The chest, however, dropped lots of good loot. There won't be chests this year so I'm not sure how it will work.
Bottom line, run all over the place looking for bunnies to kill. Get free stuff! :cool:

Well according to mystril it's a little different this year. Last year you would find (rarely if ever) in out of the way places, several white rabits arrounda treasure chest. You killed the rabbits for massive exp and then killed the chest/mimic for awesome prizes. This year apparently mystril said it will only be the bunnies and no mimic/chests. So when it starts on the 14th, start running EVERYWHERE topside. Last time they didn't go into any dungeons but that might also be something different this year, dunno.
I suggest going to general discussion and reading and following up on mystril's post there about the event until the time it happens. :D

You must have found the only set.
One person on my server posted screenshots of him finding at least 4 - 5 of them last year.

Thanks for all the input but it somehow doesnt seem like its going to be much fun if they are that rare. :( Oh well, I will just travel around while leveling and if I find one then great, if not, I still am out getting xp. Thanks again. I must say that the community here is soo much better then that of my former game.

I ran all over the place last year. I found 4 sets of bunnies all the bunnies were deep red. 2sets of bunnies still had the chests the other 2 sets the chests were gone. I think some people were afraid to kill the bunnies. Anyway I was in my 40 and got 500k xp from each bunny and the chests dropped full sets of D grade jewelry 4 EWD, 4EAD and 6 of each type of compressed shot. At the lvl I was at it was well worth the hunt. I was a poor glad at the time so the loot definatley helped me out.

My reading is that the bunnies were dark red because their level was set very high so that whomever found them and killed them would still get xp from them. A high-level toon killing a dark-blue bunny would get very little.
Their HP and pdef were set very low, so that is you got any damage on them, they died. (The chest was a different story tho; those were tough. This year, no chests.)

So this year they will be harder to kill since treasure chests are gone? Or would it be the same. Ohh if they're easy to kill it just gave me the idea of taking a low lvl toon to a very high lvl area and looking for rabbits there. Unless it is as someone mentioned where rabbits spawn randomly at random places with random lvls. This in my opinion would be more fair as a low lvl cant hunt in high lvl places, but a high lvl can go to starter towns and 1 shot everything. I hope its random :(

Yes even with a lvl 45 glad the bunnies were easy to kill and did little damage. Any little white bunnies I have ever tried to kill during events or on PTS were easy to kill with uber xp.
But the ones on PTS were awesome for drops. If the bunnies for this event have even 5% of the drops they had on PTS it will be an awesome event if you find them.

I know I have seen some people on other forums talking about how they killed all the rabbits last time. They also admitted to being assisted. But I will stop there so we don't get locked.
i myself just started at the end of last year as well, so this will be my first experience with this event. so, do the rabbits sit in one spot until somebody finds them and kills them or do the port around randomly like the mammon blacksmith or something? does anybody know for sure?

Lat years they were around chests so when they spawned they stayed there until found and killed. But fom my experience they didnt spawn again in the same place. This year who knows since they have no chests they may hop around a bit.

Not when they give lots of xp. Since there is no mention of chests I bet the bunnies pop like the mobs during the Halloween event.
Now I liked the halloween event, still useing fast heal potions from it. Bring back pumkins, or better yet let us buy a baby wabbit feed him and then let us beat him till he pops lol
First 3 bsoes I ever used was on the Halloween event. Nothing like training entire troops of mobs away from the raid boss the coming back for the kill :D
