Talking with someone in game that lead me to this question. With a lot of 2 boxers around that have buffers. Will I have problems later as a prophet getting into groups or clans? lvl 14 mystic now so i really wanna get idea of the future before I make a commitment
When you realise that you're pretty much unwanted as a PvE healer because all groups can cover themselves with an SE which also conveniently provides buffs, you realise you should look for a clan.
And then, when you realise that due to lack of groups, it's difficult to meet people and see whether you get on with them, their attitudes and their playstyle so you could join their clan, you realise that you might need to join a few raid parties.
When you start looking for raid parties, you realise that most clans you would want to be in do not actually do pick up raid groups - they ask friends or have enough of their own to raid.
And when you realise you'll be stuck with a mediochre clan that possibly only wants you for your class or because they'd take anyone, unless you get really lucky or really work at it, you realise that the PP might be the more boring class to play, but there is such a thing as too much excitement. :)
Just kidding. It's not that bad. But bishops have it tough. Being unneeded in the first place is much worse than being replacable with a box. ;)
You will always be welcomed in parties and clans. Most people don't want a boxed prophet in party, specially if there is a live one wanting to join. And clans want that prophet on their hot calls for long term parties... so you picked a good class.
You can also use heavy armor and dual swords so if you find yourself duoing with a SE, you two can blast through the levels. Our clan has a guy who plays prophet and boxes a SE. They duo through the catacombs and they both are approaching B grade after only 5 weeks...
Prophets are a good class to play, you'll get groups easily. Note that once you hit 40, there'll be 2 ways to go.
1)Battle prophet. you'll need to be optimised for damage (+str+dex-con), and in heavy armor. with this build you will be most effective in small groups of up to 4 ppl (that can easily be managed with your flist ;)
2)Your usual "buffer" prophet, with robes and a mana up weapon. this build is best used in large parties (6+), where you'll usually handle buffs and mob control (rooting fear etc).
You'll hear a lot about how everyone boxes a buffer and they're therefore not needed but... thats not the case. In large and good exping parties boxes become too much of a liability - a real player is needed on the buff console~. hf
Yep PP's are **** nice to have, I personally has equipped my lvl55 PP with BW Heavy and Tsu*SLS +4 (Focus) and I must say that PP does a decent damage and can take a lot of hits as a tank....... and then it can buff + heal :) :) :)

Actually a PP is a very flexible class to play.
ANd root, and sleep, and fear, and peace....I stopped my DA to focus on my PP, actualy i LoVe it ^^
The reason why there are so many boxed prophets is that it is very hard to solo without buffs, but there aren't enough played prophets around. I gladly log off my boxed prophet any time if I can have a party with a played one.
Soloing without buffs is hella expensive (pots, and shot per damage price increases significantly). If you didn't have a main to support yourself and probably top gear, would it be as easy?
