Hello guys. . Huge question to all of you. Im planning to create ES. (Now Im 25lvl, server Gustin). Already read huge amount of information about elemental summoner, but still not sure about him Main problem for me- its getting exp solo (sometimes I dont have a lot of time to run from one place to other searching for good party) , and to be needed inside of party(if I found one). Looks like ES is for me. But can anyone who have experience (or still playing) tell me little bit more how ES in reality (cubics, summons, how is difficult in solo). Please tell me more about this profession.
Thank you
All of the summoners are ready-made groups all by themselves. (Summoner + pet) You can add anything and still have a nice group. You can add nothing and still be good to go!
Argueably, the ES is up there with the SH, Necro, and the other summoners as one of the absolute best ironman (single-account) solo classes in the game.
The ES can do it all... its only disadvantages are:
-ES is an indirect class (your pet is everything, you are weak)
-ES's strengths are also their weakness. (When pet is controlled/feared/destroyed/unsummoned, you are going to be hurting.)
-The **** donkey's racket is enough to make your friends want to kill you just to be rid of it.
-LE males look even more fruity (and that isn't easy) with a unicorn following them...
Wizus, PM me ingame, my main is Paerthesus and I am a Gustin ES. Also PM MysticLance (who is more likely to be on than I).
Generally speaking your gear changes based on your playstyle as you move up past level 40. Common sense will tell you to continue nuking past 40 and to at least level 48-- you're nukes still deal competent damage and you should be able to two-shot without even needing the summon. So from 40-48 you'll most likely want demon robes or perhaps even afford a +Int/-Men tat for extra damage. Two-shotting is key. I wouldn't suggest a 3x cbsps consumption weapon though, they get expensive to maintain-- but if you do, go for top C for more damage. I used a soulfire dirk, mid-low C grade weapon with 2x cbsps consumption, very cheap to maintain.
After 48 (or 52 in my case), you'll most likely switch to melee/healing playstyle, where BW Light or Doom Light are the two best armors to choose from. Then duals/dagger/sword are all good choices, many summoners get an AOBA w/ health.
i play PS and i moved fully away from using nukes, i focus on melee attacks, here is my current set up (also pvp effective)
Armor: Theca leather armor (+5% p.def)
Weapon: +3 berzerker blade (i almost have more p.att then tanks with sls at same lvl)
primary summon: Soulless (highest p.att and powerful poison skills)
future set up
armor: BW light
weapon: Great sword (probably +3 with focus)
tats: +4 men +4 wit -8 Int (makes up for soulless mp drain, as well it increases my m.def and resistance to sleep/hold, as well as improved cast speed)
primary summons: soulless (DD/solo config), nightshade (healer/support config)
this would probably work for ES as well, (different summons ya)
i know a ES that uses karm and dual kats but does not pvp much so if u want easy solo when ur summon tanks use karm, but if u want to tank (transfer pain FTW btw) use theca.
When you hit 52 and get the new 54 summon, you'll be able to AOE using Unicorn Merrow outside of Oren Castle Town. Right now I am two-shotting the Connabi/Cadeine/Sanhidro groups and getting insane xp and drops. Merrow is not only for AOE-- he also makes a good summon for soloing, with a lower xp penalty than the Boxer. Personally I still feel the Boxer is an effective soloing buddy, you just have to be able to kill faster or not spam ss with him.
It's already very possible to AoE there before you hit level 52, don't let people fool you! I did 51-52 on the Connabi groups. The timing is just a lot tighter, and it's more expensive as you'll have to finish every Sanhidro in melee.
It's also possible to AoE in Tanor Canyon before that (although much harder, and it'll require you to help with Flamestrike).
PS: By insane drops - do you mean Zubei Leather Gaiter recipes? XD I have six of them now. Hehe.
hm.........what kind of gear should i buy for him in the future?and what tatoo is perfect for him?
IMHO:
No grade
-Devotion set/Whatever weapon has the highest Matk
D Grade
-Knowledge set/Overench x2 D weapon to make money, Staff of Life to power through fast.
C Grade
-Demon/homunk or club of nature
(There is a reasonable arguement for plated leather/focus duals here, but you might as well take advantage of your last few levels of nuking before it is less than efficient.)
B grade
-Blue Wolf Light, B-grade Focus duals (PvE) BoP (PvP)
A grade
-Nightmare light, Soul Bow (PvP) (I'd keep the B-grade focus duals for PvE - cheaper for heals and melee, but A grade health duals make sense too if you are rich.
Pick up a Mental shield SA weapon somewhere along the way so your pet won't be quite as vulnerable to control spells.
Unless you are rich, I'd wait on the tats until 52+ when you make the final transition to melee instead of nuking with your summoner. (If yer rich get nuker tats until 52)
+4Wit -4Int (Healing pet faster is good, you are no longer a nuker and INT isn't your friend anymore)
+4Men -4Int (More Mdef is good, INT is less useful now)
+4Con -4Str (As you PvP, you will find the summoner's life is usually the short one, and the pet just wont die... anything that makes you live longer is key.)
My view (Whee, thought I saved myself the lengthy answer):
D Grade alternative to what was said:
-devotion set set/Staff of Life. You can still make a profit past shots.
C Grade
-Demon
- No point in homunkulus sword/acumen SA unless you also use a Karmian and are using the acumen to do burst heals while AoEing in Tanor Canyon/Beehive. Use an SF dirk or a top-grade staff, not a homunkulus sword if you're going to nuke.
- If you're going to melee, use a berserker blade, not worthless focus duals, unless you already have them. Alternatively, get a SLS with Focus, drake and a shield to tank.
B grade
- Avadon robes, Homunkulus Sword or SoV with acumen or SF dirk/crystal staff with mana up for PvE. AoEing is faster, cheaper and less risky regarding death at this level.
BW Light for PvP indeed, weapon and SA depend on the kind of people you're PvPing with.
A grade
- DC or Tallum (depending on your pockets) robes for PvE. Just stick with your mana up or acumen weapon, or use your PvP weapon and stop using shots for heals.
Tats:
I have +5 INT/+4 WIT from my nuking days. I'd much prefer +5WIT/+4DEX for PvE or +4CON for PvP.
