I'm just curious because I've seen PvP videos of other servers with RedGuard in them and they are using names from people in my alliance that is on a different server >_<
On Hindemith RedGuard is the botted up scourge clan with allies with nonsensical names . Its 1 tank, the rest nukers and healers all 75+, the go from raid boss to raid boss 24-7 and prevent any other clan or alliance from having a successful raid unless we schedule it at some ungodly hour before they can get to it. So many alliances have started fighting them that they have created sister clans that magically show up immediately at a Raid boss if you challenge them. Its an adena making business to them and ruins the game for far too many on the server, and NCSoft could care less.
massive chinese accounts ftw!
And the funny thing (and also what the OP was talking about) is that they seem to "do business" on other servers, too. Not too long ago I read a thread about the "raid boss problem" on another server, and there was a screenie - with a clan called "redguards", and characters with the same name as on hindemith. Wonder how they actually work on several servers, because they seem to be active 24/7 on Hindemith...
On Gustin there are two similar clans, called LightSword and RollsRoyce. They even formed an alliance called MagicSword. They have the raid bosses on lock-down and as a result the market prices on lvl 11-12 SA crystals and A helms are through the roof.
Each clan is all nukers with 1 tank and a few healers/buffers. They are on 24/7 and when they find a raid boss up they port, buff and have it dead in no time flat. I saw them take out Longhorn on TOI 8 in about 90 seconds from when they started. Account sharing seems to be the least of their many EULA violations, and it is making it near impossible for clans/alliances to gear up. Normal players can't compete with this, and it causes even more violations of the EULA as people get desperate for high end gear.
Its been this way for months and our server is finally starting to get tired of it and is fighting them. I have heard that other servers have had similar problems with raid boss farmers and have managed to successfullly get rid of them. Is this true? Any pointers on how to fight them?
PeaceCountry got banned afaik, but U2 and Astures are still about. All are essentially the same people and they make the Serverpolice farmer ally on Teon. And they're booming new toons up to replace the banned ones.
On Sieghardt we have Ondbey+Ondbey2 ( Ondbey alliance ) and Hellrisser (SP?) + BraveHeart ( EminenceEra alliance ) . Sometimes these farmers fight for raid bosses and those who get near in such moments gets lucky :D
Our server has a 3rd clan besides redguards Named FTB, currently allied with the other high level illegitimate players. They say they fight RG for bosses, they are still farmers.
Wonder how they actually work on several servers, because they seem to be active 24/7 on Hindemith...
ohh without a doubt they are running on multiple servers. If you don't see RG at a raid boss or running to one they are sitting in town near a gatekeeper, this is when (I believe) they are on other PCs doing other servers. My guess is that its a large internet cafe setup with lil chinamen with whips slave-driving some poor students who need money, lol. All it would take is for a GM to watch their behaviour and actions for like a week straight. The fact that they do NOTHING but raid and sell items should be blatently clear that these are not legit players at all but are in fact in a business. I realize they may not be using bots but they are OBVIOUSLY not playing the game for enjoyment but are in fact ruining everyone elses with their business while real players want to enjoy what they are paying for, which is a service. I know people can just leave when they are fed up with bad service but there are obligations NC Soft should attend to, which is providing the consumer with a service. If you are a manager at a restuarant and you let employees piss in people's meals its YOUR obligation to take care of the problem, they can't just tell the customer, "well we'll investigate but you know you could eat somewhere else." Nor should they blame it on the kids that encourage employees to do such actions. Thats just ridiculous. But thats basically what GMSpam fed us with some post a while back on our server forums concerning Redguard, he blamed the people that buy adena and the people that don't discourage it, lol. He *****slapped Hindemith and they lapped it up like a happy puppy.
