Advice reguarding 2nd job quests...

Player Questions Started Last reply 20 posts
Finally here i am :) level 35 and signed up for SK quest... (believe me, it took a loooong time to decide if BD or SK :P)
now the question: i've seen some descriptions regarding the different parts of each of the 3 quests... what i wonder is: are the mobs hard? better to get one/two more level before actually doing them, or i can go as i am and be fine? :) -too bad i'll have to walk, since i bought my nex c grade weap already and left so few money... :P also due to the low time i had recently selling some of the items i have in WH

TNX all ^_^
I haven't done the SK quest, but I always wait untill I'm 40 when doing class change quests. It should be doable for you to do the 35 quest at 35, but it will be so much easier if you just wait till you're 40.
your suggestion makes me think of a couple of raids before starting the quest :P (money for gk and some more levels...)

aww you know it's so hard to wait otherwise ^_^;

ty for feedback
If you do want to start them pre-40, do the 35 and 37 quest at 36 and 38. These quests require you, for some unknown reason, to be 1 level higher to finish it.
Do them when they're available... doing them all at 40 usually burns out people, and that's no fun. Start at 35... do as long as you can, then push to 36 and then finish it... go level and be happy... upon 37, start the next one... don't use a quest guide... that's about it - wey's guide to happier questing!
ty all for suggestions :) i'll probably look for a raid to give me an xp boost then go for quest (so i'll more probably level while doing it :P)

Don't use a quest guide? Are you crazy or just hardcore?

I guess if the quests didn't suck so bad, not using guides might be justifyable.

That's just my opinion though.

I don't know about anyone else, but hitting 35, doing a quest, going back to leveling, doing another quest, going back to leveling, doing another quest, and then going back to leveling some more burns me out. I'd rather get to 40 and do the quests as quickly as possible. I must admit they take freakin forever though. Took me about 4-6 hours to do the last half of the LE 37 quest and the whole level 39 SR quest. Had a nice 12 hour sleeping session after that... **** me and staying up late... erm.. I mean, early in the morning <.<
I always start mine at 35. Give me goals to get past those last 5 levels.
So the real answer here is...

Depends on your playstyle. :)
From my understanding it's best to wait till your 40. Then you can do all of them at once, it saves alot of running around.
I just finished that warsmith quest a couple weeks ago (and still haven't wanted to play that toon!)--the only easy way to do it would have been if someone else had played my character.
It would have been WAAAY harder to do each level at time (i waited till 40 based on advice from this site).
Mostly, it would have been WAAY more expensive--and it was expensive enough anyway.
I have a knight at 35. I'll start that quest at about 37 or 38. I'm raiding him with an experienced group for exp right now--which has the occasional drop as a bonus that can be sold for quick cash.

As one who just finished the process (and WS quest is a grinder), it wasn't 'easy' waiting till 40. It would have been insane and even more expensive doing it in pieces and without a guide.
Best of luck to you.

This used to work great. I could stack 3 quests and be able to kill one mob and get 1-2 items. But they changed the quest formula so you can only get 1 item per mob now. Still doing them all at once can save on time and adena.
You can still get quest items from 2 class change quests from the same mob at the same time. I did it a few weeks ago on Tamlin orcs (or was it the Leto's. Somewhere up there).

The biggest thing for me is saving money. I wait until at least 39 to start the quests because of it. If 2 of your quests send you to TI for instance, you save 20k+ in port fees by only having to go there once.
Exactly!
And with guide--it's sometimes possible to see that you'll have to grab something for 2nd quest in Giran that you can grab while you're there for 1st quest. Sometimes.
Porting fees for these quests can be HIGH.
You know the old saying, "20,000 here. 20,000 there. Pretty soon you're talking about serious money".

I started first WS quest without guide--took boat to TI--found out I didn't have some berry that blacksmith wanted. THEN I found a good guide and planned better.
Main reason why people wait till 40 is becouse most of those who alts/rerols got a C gear waiting for the char, and with C gear it's much easier.
If you whant to do them all together, you can have them all at 39. Personaly I started mine quest when they became available and when I was in the area, and used guides to find parts that that stack. I also did a hatchling quest and wishing potion at a same time. Was done with my shamy's quest in mid 39, when I hit 40 whent straight for the trainers and learned all those new skills (got amulets in advance too).

As I have gotten more than one quest item from a single kill within the last month, I doubt this is the case. It is much more likely that a few specific quests are interfering with other specific quests.
eheheh, doing quests level by level :P
lucky there's that fantastc place called pilgrim necropolis where to get money and xp fast enough :)

Yes, that is true. As soon as you hit lvl 40, you get C grade expertise for free, even WITHOUT having done the class change quests. So you can do the quest(s) with C grade gear, which helps immensely e.g. in the case of a healer/buffer when you have to kill mobs for quest items. So if you have C grade gear waiting, doing the quests at lvl 40 will make the questing quite a bit faster.

If this is your first character, I'd just do the quests one by one when they become available. Makes it a bit less confusing than trying to do all quests at once with super-optimized gatekeeper usage, and it makes the last five levels a bit more interesting if you actually have something to do apart from grinding.
yep, 1st char :) i already have some c grade armor waiting in warehouse (but just gloves/boots and shield :P so not all that difference)
and for gatekeepers... am i shocking you if i say i almost don't use them at all? except when i'm at giran and they ask to go to de village... and even then, i just teleport to gludio the run all the way long :P (and even tho, no rabbit yet lol)
