So I want to get a stryder now more than ever, did a lot of looking around and I found out how to lvl a hatchling really fast. That wont be the problem.
The problem is that in one of the many forums I was in about pets, someone recently mentioned that once you mount a stryder, your weapon and armor are unequipped. Is this true???? :(. Do you still deal same or better damage than unmounted even if you have no weapon? If you don't and you got like 50 attack or something, then that goal of getting a stryder goes bye bye. Any insight? Those who have stryders... I plan on getting a twilight. cheap. But I won't if when I mount my patk goes to [censored]. Thanks...
It is true and you do almost no damage while riding. I made a dismount macro that equips my weapon instantly for cases where I need to kill mobs chasing me.
well if your second accound is a healer/buffer, then it's fine. Matck doesn't affect buffs at all and barely affects heals. You just don't want a fighter to nuker to attack from strider back.

But thats how it should be. Why else would anyone want to make a wind stryder if they cant mount it and raise patk. Same goes for star.
When you mount you should still be able to attack with your weapon. At least the same damage you did when unmounted. Or have the stryders attack go up when you mount and use it to attack instead of yourself. Right?
What's the use if having a wind dragon if you cant use it to attack while mounted? (Dont say you can use unmounted) It looks much better when your mounted.
You are correct that it would be cool if you could attack while mounted. Noblesse get a skill that allows them (while mounted) to attack castle doors during sieges. Maybe they'll add other skills later but as of now you can't.
I know you don't want to hear it but, the attack skills are meant to be used as it's fighting beside you. Essentially, you'll ride your extra weapon to the hunting field. Personally, I only wanted a ride so I leveled a Twilight. I leveled a wolf for damage.
Too bad you cant summon both at once :p. That would be cool. And even cooler attacking while mounted. But all in all, I decided to just stick to wolfie and make a wind dragon for additional dd. No more twilight. Since I wont ride it :). Thx for all your help.
