I have a level 75 clan mate who has been attempting to meet Baium for several weeks now. He wants to start his subclass. He has had no luck, Baium is never there during the hours he can play.
My understanding that on Erica, Baium is farmed by Redguards (? as in the Chinese Red Guard, fanatical followers of Mao Tse Tung). Supposedly Baium is killed within a few minutes of spawning.
This was not a problem some months back, Baium was usually available for the casual player. Now it seems that if you can't be on during the 5 minutes a day that Baium is alive, you have no chance of subclassing.
Now if you talk to a GM, they will tell you that the quest is performing as intended. I guess they means that a business organization can dominate some aspect of the game to the exclusion of casual players, who also pay money to play.
A casual player should have a reasonable expectation of all quests being available, since they are paying for the same service.
It is useless to suggest that people band together to clean out Redguards. That would be a 24/7 job with no salary. This goes well beyond player competition for a resource. Even if you kill all the Redguard, you probably stiil have an empty room where Baium use to be. This would be no help to the casual player.
To add to the frustration GM responses to this issue tend to be moronic.
I would like to ask if the same problem exists on other servers? If so, has anyone found a solution, that does not involve camping Baium 24/7? And how do people feel about such an important quest being unavailableto many players?
Tell him to take a week's vacation and stare at his monitor for the entire week. Remember not to sleep, pee, shower, eat or anything else because all it takes is a few minutes and he'll have to take another week's vacation.
I think I made it clear that camping is not an option for a player with only a few hours to play each day. It really is pointless to make moronic comments like that.
Thanks for contacting Lineage 2 Support. I hear what you are saying , and agree 100%. I myself have made suggestions to the effect of allow players to "summon" raid bosses for quest purposes. Unfortunately , I to have to go through the same avenue as you do in order to get my suggestion heard. In any case, the best way to have your voice heard in this situation is to post your ideas on the official forums. You may have already been told this , but I will just reinforce the suggestion since it is your best route.

I dont think u do understand. We have spent hours on this issue. I dont mind that the quest is difficult...i dont mind that it takes hours to complete and i apprieciate that u have to work for it. But, as i have stated, Us Customers should be able to go forward with this quest on our own time.
Im not talking about Baium being able to be hunted morning noon and night. Couldnt u keep the spawn at the same time yet have Bauim available for this quest. EX...only be able to kill baium when his normal spawn time is but have him around for this part of the quest. As it is right now u have to tele into Baium and can not do this if he is not there...couldnt there be a distinction between "killing him" and "waking him" to enter? That way people can still camp him and this quest is not hindered by people who have his spawn time down to the min.

Thanks for contacting Lineage 2 Support. I do understand your frustration concerning the Baium spawn. The quest, "Fate's Whisper" is designed to be very difficult since it does offer a fairly substantial reward. By changing the Baium spawn, and making him available at all times would cause more chaos then good. By allowing him to remain on a random spawn , it prevents players from 24/7 camping him.

please take the time to read through what i am about to say. i have been petitioning on a clanmates behalf about this subject for 3 days now. i have gotten live responces and i will admit that they were nice but unable to help me...on both occasions i was told to tell XXXXXXXXX to petition himself aas they couldnt talk to me about someone elses issues. fine..i got him to petition 2 more times and both times he got automated responces to go the the offical site..which he did...he submitted his concerns and got answers such as "likely Baium may be dying before u can get to him"....well of course Baium is dead...
at this point i petitioned again...and think i made some great points about this quest "fate's whisper". i dont expect that quests should be easy...we are all willing to spend the time to do these quests..however it has to be on "our" time. some of us keep wierd hours, have families, jobs,ect that limit our hours...we should not be punished becasue of this....
my suggestions to name a few are these
1) perhaps for teh first hour that Baium spawns it should be impossible to kill him as to give other players a chance to complete their quest
2) that Baium is always there..just can only be killed at certain times.
XXXXXXXXX was waiting for a responce at this p[oint..and had been waiting for almost 3 hours...when he got a responce it was automated and told him to go back to the offical site again. i was talking to GMSeaton at this point and he/she was sorry to hear about his frustration...i asked him/her if they could petition alpha..after a delay i was told that was impossible..that alpha would have to petition again...i was told that GMSeaton would pass it on to the upper tier with a note. i talked to XXXXXXXX and asured him that he would get the customer satisfaction that he was looking for and and for his patience...he petitioned again and i was sure that he would feel better by talking to someone himself...
so u can imagine my reaction and everyone reaction in ts when we heard XXXXXXX say..omg!!!! over the speakers...yes thats right..after us jumping through hoops, being patient, doing everything that we have been told to do, being kind, not getting mad, all of this...he gets yet another automated responce...after me being promised that he would get to talk to a voice...i was not mean to the GM that i was talking to...i wasnt taking it out on him/her. y ignore a customer?? if he wants to talk to u guys let him..it is his right to talk to someone if he feels he needs to.
i have a small clan, we are tight knite, i am willing to back him up on this and order vactions for all 101 ally members...
he is level 76 ... he is not a lazy player ... he is willing to put in the time ... but he has to be able to finish quests ON HIS TIME! he pays for this time..and he should be able to decide when he plays and when he doesnt! that is the facts
so my question to u is...what would u have him do? what are your suggestions? i have plenty of my clannies that are about to do this quest and most of them have families, jobs, lives, ect...i know u say it isnt my business..i disagree. i am the clan leader, this does hinder my game play. i am responsable for helping the clannies in any way that i can. u should help me to help them..we have the same goal...if u can help me, and i can help them, then i have happy clannies, and u have poeple who play your game.
wouldnt u agree that we should be able to finish quests at and on our own time?

Ive been camping Balium for 4 days so far, with less than 3 hours sleep per day. I think this quest needs some form of rework.
Personaly, i think waitting for days to get a quest item is wrong, 24 hours maybe. In my case, tomorrow (wednesday) i can't play, so if bailum does not spawn tonight im going to have to wait again, NO COMMENT
We spent 6 hours fighting the raid boss farmers on our server for baium, they were at the post point withing minutes of it spawning and simply logged players out to do alliance rez as it spwaned and take out anyone around them.
The quest may be broken, but so is NCSoft for allowing these farmers to ruin their game and not even let us speak about it on their official forums without our threads being locked.
I don't care if he dropped the freakin' pwning stick of awesome kill-everyoneness. You shouldn't keep a player from trying to do a quest that was put there to be done, just because some other players have developed a personal vendetta against that NPC.
Come on NCSoft. Just because you have the $$$ rolling in doesn't give you the right to ignore the players. Someone needs to step up and take charge of the situation... :mad:

Please remeber this quest is bad for your health, you will get sleep deprivation, stress and anxity. These will be followed by a delusional state, were you think that NcSoft acctualy cares.
Finaly when camping balium, please remember Bres, Flasks of coffee, and the potty.
What Baium drops is meaningless, its all about the Soul Crystals he levels. If you Control Baium and Anakim/Lillith, you dominate the market, they spawn the most frequent, and do not require hundreds of people like Antharas. This is why the farmers continue to control him. He needs to be as hard as Antharas if you expect the farmers to leave him be.
I like how the quest is, but it's the problem of Professional RB Farmers. It's not reasonable to make Baium immune for 1 hour because what would be the point. The reward of meeting Baium is the ability to ever become a Noblesse/Hero. Even a player controlled alliance would be smart to keep their enemies from subclassing by monopolizing Baium. So that isn't the issue. If NCSOFT banned RB Farmers then it would be good.
