I recently made a de archer...now I was wondering along with dumping sp into bow..should i dump my sp into dagger while I get the skills. for close combat reason. just curious
The first thing I did with my archer (also a DE) was to burn all my archery skills up. Then I hit my dagger, but only after I was maxxed out for my level on bow.

Might not have been the proper thing, but it works for me so far. Mind you, I'm only mid-20's on that character, so... I'm probably not your best resource.
If you plan on only hitting mobs with bow and running and hitting and running go for only bow skills. But if you plan on hitting a mob 2 or 3 times before they reach you with bow, and then switch to dagger like I do, go for both. It's a lot faster lvling all in all. Just cost a little more as you will get hit by mobs, thus you need heal potions. It's all about your gamestyle.
I currently have al evel 26 Light Elf and I love her and what I did was max out all my bow masteries first then I did Dagger b/c even if you don't use the dagger kills when you solo most people in raids prefer that you carry and use dagger after your mp has been sucked dry in a raid so I suggest getting both and which ever you enjoy or want more *bow or dagger* then max the skills out for that one first and gl :)
If your final path is a Bow user class it's important to focus on those. You wont always get Dagger masteries if you go Archer in the end, just like if you go Dagger you wont continue to get Archer skills.

Many Archers even at high levels will use a Dagger as a sidearm to deal with Archery resistant monsters or when they run out of mana. By that time I wouldn't worry about SP cost as you should be able to afford the old Dagger masteries easily.
Maxing out all bow related skills still I used to hunt using a dagger till C grade just b/c due to lack of mp using the bow. I only used SP on the daggermastery skill, never beeing bothered about all the other dagger skills.
Once I got CS SA on the bow I started to use the bow regular.
If I do become a bow mastery user (which i currently am) What at CG is the best armour or armour set to buy? The Best (not worried about pricing)

Plated leather. +4str is huge, and cost only -1con (and a rediculous amount of money). PL set goes for 9-12mil at Lionna.
And you can put another +4/5 STR tatto on top of that.
