The Rules

General Discussion Started Last reply 20 posts
ok we see alot of posts everyday dealing with common events and gripes

the question i ask is what are the rules for playing lineage?
some examples

OMG im lvl 21 and cant afford a brig helmet, lineage econemy is screwed
rules state that you should have NG until lvl 25

ZOMG nuker hit me for 3k damage, im lvl 65
rules state at your lvl you should have full unsealed majestic jewles +5

OMG i cant afford C grade
rules state you should be manoring and have at least 3 dwarves

ZOMG sleep has 100% land rate
rules state you must wear NM armor and have agis if you pvp

OMG i cant break even when i hunt
rules state you can not make a profit if you use ss/sps
I usually enjoy your posts.

What in the name is this?
Are these "official" rules, or just rules as per nameless1? If so on "official", link please. ;)
most important rule :

dont drink and play ... (type) ;)

lol
basic nameless rules
1. WS>all
2. must obey rule one

not my rules im just wondering what ppl think the general guidelines of lineage are

should you have top NG at lvl 20?
top B grade at lvl 56?
do you have to use manor system to survive?
must you play the market?
should you craft all your gear?
is everybody required to have A grade at lvl 75?
is S grade for everyone or should it only be reserved for the leetest of the leet?

basically what i want is when some newb comes onto the forums and complains that things arent going their way, we can just say please see "the rules" for what you should have/do
1: If you get owned in the arena, the class that beat you needs to be nerfed.

2: It is the Necro's fault that I am too stupid to have song of warding.

3: If you rerolled a glad in c3 thinking they were going to be the fotm, you must make 10 nerf nuker threads every 2 days.

4: Anybody with better gear e-bays

5: Anybody with higher lvls bots.

6: Anybody who uses /target is running a bot program.

7: All heroes are griefers, botters, and ebayers.

8: At lvl 20, you are qualified to complain about endgame content.

9: BSOE must be on your hotbar at all times.

10: A player's own stupidity has NOTHING to do with why they just handed me their nightmare helm to try on.
1. Player A pays $50 for the game and $15 a month for it, Player A can say and do whatever they want.
I would go with what I, casual grinder and full time roleplayer (I play a lot but most of the time spend in game is definitely not grinding/making money ;) ), managed to achieve (if I could. Anyone can)

level 25 - Knowledge Set, Demon Fangs, Elven Jewelry
Level 45 - Drake leather armor, +3 Kat*Kat, Elven Jewelry (I skipped C grade jewels... they are worthless in PvE)
Level 55 - Doom Light Armor + Shield, sls*sls, BO set
Level 61 (current) - DC light top/bottom, Elysian Axe almost ready to craft (about 5m in mats to get) and 50m in adena used for making more money.

And I'm lazy as hell!
Rule #1 - Have fun. It's a game.

Rule #2 - See rule #1.

Rule #3 - There is no rule #3. It does not exist. You're delerious. Stop reading.

I said stop reading.
Then again, we only have your word for that the money was gained legitly, so its rather neither here nor there.
its much simpler:
1. make your own rules.
2. if you feel a need to look like everyone else ie, follow the train, then its your own thing.
3. if you're cought cheating then you're guilty otherwise do what u do best.
4. annoy the crap of every moving thing in lineage, you payed for the service, now use it!
5. dont go a female dark elfe for looks, go for a female dwarf for being who you truly are: a legitimate .erv.rt . :D
6. have fun.

Anyone with more pvps than pks is a carebear.
Anyone with more pks than pvps is a griefer.
Anyone high level is a botter.
Anyone low level is a noob.
Anyone in with gear is an ebayer.
Anyone without gear is a scammer.
Anyone with a clan is bandwagoner.
Anyone without a clan is a farmer.
Anyone with karma is cocky.
Anyone without karma is scared.
Anyone that rerolls is childish.
Anyone that plays a gimp is a crybaby.

Those aren't real? :p

Here are some postulates:

People will make rules to suit themselves.

People will scream and cry because there is one more clan at a siege, "Zerg, ZERG!!!!"

But will have no problem pk'ing someone many lvls below them and not think it is a zerg in levels.

People will open fire on someone who is unaware of them and call it a fair fight if they win. If they lose they will get mad and start shouting how they will bring down the wrath of god on their *censored*'s

People will look for already established clans who are known to raid often or help with gear but rarely will want to help build one from scratch.

People will say you shoudl lvl and get powerful but if you are forced to pk someone many lvls below you because they run their mouths you are considered a griefer.

People will say that using potions in pvp is weak. People will say that you do whatever is needed to survive and win and using potions is "ok".

So I say, make your own rules. Be a "good" player but play how you like.

Oh... YOU ARE NOT YOUR TOON! (general all inclusive "you"). Your high lvl uber geared, pk all toon in no way validates "you" as a human being. It does not make you cool, get you dates, make you successful, give you anymore worth other than what worth you actually earn in the real world and that your own mother gives you.

It's a game. Sort of like go fish but with better graphics.

Top D at lvl 20
