I have noticed a large increase in the price of mats on erica. Bone 1800 adena, varnish 2k, iron 1200. Is this farmers strugg.ling to screw up our economy for more illegal profit or is it common accross most servers?

I remember during beginning of the coalition where players defended farmers cause the the low costing mats the gave to the market lol
Supply and demand. S grade requires a CRAP load of mats. The top 10-20% of our server is crafting quite alot. Farmers and player's BHs note that they can get away with selling their mats for such outragious prices.
3 things that can happen that will bring the prices of mats back to the ground. Supply meets and surpass the demand then prices of mats will finally start to drop due to competition among the farmers and BHs. High demand finally comes to an end since the top players finally crafted all their S grade. Or you can bypass the market all together by rounding up ur friends who have BHs and go hunt for bones, varnish, and/or steel.
Figured I would try to inject common sence one last time. Well good luck complaining about the farmers ruining the market.
I know in my case, I used to have a material farming account. My main is a 68 BH. I love spoiling things, and had an account full of Dwarves to accomidate my needs. I crafted everything I own(except my weapons, these were given to me by a friend when he quit the game, and my tallum helm(bought by clan)/boots/gloves). I crafted Dual Shamshirs for my BH to use, crafted my FP set, crafted my BW Heavy set, sold the shams for 15m bought a low B Heavy War Axe for 12m. I crafted my Tallum Heavy main piece(first try, recipe free from clan, total cost 4.2m). Then I started deleteing Scavengers. I didnt NEED the materials anymore, and was tired of only playing the same class day in day out.
Many of us have given up trying to farm, the manor system made it pointless to play a scav since almost everyone else can get mats faster than we can.

It's simple supply and demand.
A-grade recipes and primary parts (weapon blades) are much more common now, so many more people are trying to craft Sword of Miracles, Soulbow, and other items. Almost all of the items require Varnish of Purity and Mithril Alloy, so players are bidding up the price of the raw materials now that they don't have to pay as much for recipes and blades.
Supply and demand... and also the change of certain things like manor system and raidboss loot. C3 you got much more full items from raids, so less need for crafting. You also got literally hundreds of different molds and enria/met fiber etc. from those. And the manor, well it had bigger capacity so it produced more mats.
Come C4, RB drops got nerfed, manor got cut = less mats on market. A-grade recipes and parts drop/spoil, S-grade for the high lvls = more mats needed.
So, in conclusion, the supply is smaller and demand is greater than in C3 so no wonder prices are going up...
There is multiple reasons really, first of the bigest design flaw in this game is this.
not a SINGLE monster abow lv 60 spoils ANY base mats at all, no spoiler will be able to get bone, vanish, and so on at all, last mobs lv 60 who spoil this things.
In fact an lv 49 BH right now spoil stuff worth 500-1000 times more then any BH at 60+ it was even worser in C3 but somewhat fixed in C4.
Anyhow I hope they ever plan to change this, to make mats spoilable at 60+ except a few crap items like metalic fiber...
after 60, the materials you will spoil will be Mold Lube, Glue, Hardener, Metal Hardener, Metallic Fiber, Thons, Enria and Asofe Cleather and DMP. I cant think of anything else you will spoil regularly for materials.
That means I have 18(15 to be exact) levels left where I am, essentially, pointless till I can subclass into a class that matters.
Well after this weekend it isn't even basic mat prices anymore. A rmore has gone through the roof.
Example
Last week / Monday
DC robe 45mil / 75mil
gloves 9mil / 25mil
boots 9mil / 25mil
and dont forget about the helms C3 = 75-100mil, C4 = 130-150mil.
Just a small example but A grade everything has gone through the roof. S grade lol will never be able to get S grade ever.
I think the reason for the spike in mat prices on Erica is because of something with the manor system...
It's either broke or the Castle lords aren't buying or selling, I was checking a couple towns' manors last night, and it appeared that no crops were being bought or seeds being sold(Dion was one)...
It maybe that the manor system on Erica is bugged, atm..
I've been sitting on some crops for over a week, and haven't been able to sell them(partily due to bad timing)....
The price of CBP/bone and varnish have been going up since this last weekend...
Erica's mats prices are killing my WS and my BH cant get enough mats on his own, so my profits are way down...
But all save my rant about mat drops/manor system/farmers for another day....
Farmers invaded en mass after C4. Seig is infested with them, every room of every cat/necro has a party of them
This made adena cheaper to buy. Players bought alot more of it. Now all the ebaying scum have so much money, but you cannot buy mats and items for cash, so those have gotten bid way up.
Happens to all games eventually, prices in game are just rising in the inverse of the falling real money cost of adena.

My views are alike. My guess was that with the falling real money value of adena, the farmers in turn raise raw material prices. This generates more sales in adena which is used to purchase the materials so it is still kind of profitable for them.
This cannot go ad infinitum ... one day all players are gone because of farmers = no byuing force for farmers, or (HOPEFULLY~~~) all farmers are gone and players will need to make their own effort to get materials. They will sure be at higher prices - but - it's always better to have player-driven market than farmer-driven market, because farmers now have much much larger control for it and can do whatever they want with prices.
