Do you know about raid boss farmers?

Any and all reports of players using third-party software for whatever purpose is investigated. In regards to players hunting raid boss monsters, all players are welcome to fight them on a first-come first-serve basis. Simply being first to kill the boss mobs once they spawn or repeatedly killing them is not a violation. However, using bot programs to fight the monster(s) or selling the dropped items for real-life currency are violations, and we do take strict disciplinary action against that type of behavior.

ok so you take strict action against selling in game assets for real currency well we al know the one big site out there that is still selling. what action has nc soft taken to stop the main adena selling site ?

killing bosses repeatedly and as soon as they spawn may not be against the tos but from a pure marketing stand point how do you think it makes the customers feel to not be able to make it to the high end content. wouldn’t it behoove nc soft to make some safe guards in this, maybe the same people can not kill the same boss 2 times in a row etc. ?
so basically, it's not the farmers selling adena and spawn killing monsters making it impossible for legitimate players to kill them that is broken. It's the raid boss system?

IP ban redGuard and PeaceCountry and threaten court action if they attempt to re-connect.
Today, one quest, tomorrow, the world.

If they ignore one thing, then what's stopping them from ignoring the rest? Honestly, it makes me mad. Almost mad enough to take my money elsewhere.

Unfortunately, these corporate jobs can't take a hint until their pocket books start feelin it. Keep it up, how much longer before the game plays itself, simply because people don't wanna put up with it any longer?

The issue is that people buying new accounts because their others were banned is a source of income, so the only way this is going to stop, is for us to stop patronizing places (i.e. ebay, buymyadena.com) that provide the "easy" way out. It's a vicious cycle that is only gonna stop with the players. We are on our own here...

farmer, bot, e-bay, automated players, omg wtf hax!!!!!1111111

it is the CONTENT not the words that get a thread locked... honestly you think to little of mistryl if u think it is some magic word and not the content itself...
why stop there im al lfor a ban on all asian ip's theay have there owne servers

and no it is up to NCSoft to enforce there TOS any one who has played l2 can tell them dozens of sites that are blatentley breakeing this TOS NC should have lawyers shuting theses sites down

brings up the question, what about NA/Euro people who are transfered there for business? Are they supposed to play on Asia's L2 servers(or quit) even if they have been playing here, on the NA servers since OB?

if it solves the farmer problem, yes.
I just don't understand how NCSoft does their 'bot sweeps' but misses the raid farmers, I can understand missing a bot train hidden in some corner of devasted castle, but raid bosses are NEVER killed by legit players, at least on Bartz, its pretty broken... I wish we'd get a human response, and not just the blah blah blah automated thing...
we can not play on the asian l2 servers due to there restrictions it only makes sence that the converse is true
and for the oees that had to move unfortiounatley theay would be out of luck but the perecentige of people that have had that happen to them out if the whole player base is minimal
if you wish to discussthat more please make a thread and i will be more then happy to comment there but this thread is for asking nc soft what theay have actuly done to back up there claims
NCsoft hasn't shown us they take these allegations seriously.

We *routinely* see the same raid boss farmers for months on end. They are selling the boss mob jewels, the regular raid drops, and the SA crystals for huge adena profits.

Where are all those adenas going? How hard is it for NCsoft to check? Why does it take so long? Why do the players see no impact on the problem?

All it would take is for NCsoft to watch the raid bosses, see where the adena is going, and routinely ban ALL the accounts used by the raid boss farmers.
But that takes work and effort. I'd love to share all the research that another poster on a different site has done into this, but losing my account here would not be worth it. His conclusions, and the logical path he took to end up at them are sound, and thankfully lacking in hardcore conspiracy stuff.

What makes this whole issue even worse, is that the Raid Farmer group you see on YOUR server, is the SAME raid farmer group seen on ALL servers. It is the same company/companies(this is where the conspiracy comes in) with different names. The power alliances take them in instead of fighting them as they should, this reduces thier "cost" for the things that these Raid Farmers are known for. They employ thier raid crews to seige with them, to do Antharas and to PvP for them. NCSoft should deal not only with the Raid Farmers, but the alliances that harbor them. They are equally at fault for this. In game dominence is bought and paid for by out of game acts, thus diminishing the true game that was meant to be played. I wouldnt mind having to fight the same players I see grinding every day for raid bosses, but I DO have a problem fighting the people that the only place you see them is at a raid boss or standing by a gatekeeper 24/7.

because, as they said, Unless you can prove without a doubt they are using illegal third party programs, and/or selling the in game items for real life currency, they are in no way violating the game rules or EULA.

I think that's a load of crap. I don't spend my $15/month for the opportunity to hunt down and try to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt who is and who isn't bots. I pay my money to play the game and any help I give them, they should be persuing with a vengance, since they obviously can't handle the problem on their own...

Lets see, me pay them to help them uphold the EULA? I don't think so. They should reward players who assist in a successful bot banning with a free month of playtime.
I don't doubt canto and others...this must be happening.
Could someone describe the situation in a bit more detail so others of us can understand?
On my server for the past weeks I've had countless successful raids with real folks--both a semi-perm non-clan group and "pick up" groups for bosses lvl 25-38. All over the map.
Last night alone our group found 5 standing (all mid to upper 30's) and took them all. We passed 2 other low lvl 30's standing that are now too low for us as well.
I haven't kept count but we must have taken nearly 40 in the past couple weeks or so.
Is this OP and thread about the highest raid bosses only?

I've never seen anything resembling a farmer group. Assuming it is because they target the really high and lucrative bosses?
I guess what I'm asking is, "granting this thread is accurate, are our boss days over when we hit lvl 50 and above on our characters?"

I did not mean *you* specifically. I meant that if it cannot be proven that they are using illegal third party programs or selling in game items for real life currency they are not breaking any rules.

It is within the game rules to "farm" RB. It was designed to make clans and alliances want to kill them to gear their members and level SA crystals. So you can kill them(the other people killing the RB, be it "farmers" or another alliance/clan) or sit in town. It is simple: If they were not farming them, someone else would be, probably the top few alliances on your server.
this is a problem and nc has clearley said theay punish them i just want to know what are theay doing that is soo innefective that theses sites anr makeing littalart milions of dollers from selling l2 assets

"or selling the dropped items for real-life currency are violations, and we do take strict disciplinary action against that type of behavior"
We have seen similar suggestions for game mechanics to prevent killing raid bosses multiple times in a row, and I have passed those on to the development team.
