Bounty Hunter 40+ Setup

Question for all your Bounty hunter loving dwarves out there. At present this is my setup:

Full Plate (Full set including shield)
Samurai Long Sword +3

I've seen a few posters suggesting various tats and weapons + Special abilities.

This is what i'm aiming to go for:

Armour the same as above
Weapon - Yaska - SA Health
Tats - Str +4 Con -4
Tats - Dex +4 Con -4

Now i obviously understand that this is gonna help me hit harder, faster and more accurately. But is this going to put me at a big disadvantage with lack of HP and easily to Stun?

I know Dwarves especially Bounty Hunters are not the best at PVP but will it be beneficial to do this setup sacrificing my Con? The other option is to create a massive HP boost (various +/- tats) where i could assist the clan in taking damage away from other members?

An example (for non griefing methods) if someone had been griefing a clan member i could flag on the pker/griefer getting them to in turn flag back on me and while they waste damage on me another DD in the clan could wipe them out.

Those are the two options i'm considering and i like the first one better as i enjoy soloing a fair bit of the time (on a different time zone to most of the clan) so the idea of doing better/faster damage is always appealing, i just want to make sure i'm not sacrificing too much to make this setup.

One final question.

My HP at the moment is about 2200 if i do the tats so my con ends up at -8 and i have a SA health Yaska does anyone know what my HP will end up like? i'm currently half way to level 41.

Any answers / advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Crafty
Come on there must be at least 1 bounty hunter out there with some thoughts on this? :p
I have no tats, I use a comp set with a +3 yaksa with health. I can't answer the -8 CON thing because I don't want to gimp anything ATM.
You should ask thisquestion to yourself.

Do you PvP enought to justify the extra damage speed aka leveling faster? Becose yeah the STR don't truly help you in PvP neitehr do DEX, thoght the question really is do you PvP enought?

I took my BH from 40 to 52 with Plated Leather set +5 STR +4 DEX -9 CON, in about 3 weeks time, lots of good spoils and not to mention all the 40-50m I pulled in in seeds during that time.

But yeah +5 STR helps a ton in PvE, not really in PvP nothing helps in PvP truly for a dwarf :P

Also if your partying with an SE or Prophet who have crit related buffs, take duals with crit sa or swords, (Dagger is not to recomend) Becose crit buffs increse your damage drasticly over what any of the blunts you can use do.
yeah thats the sort of info i needed, thanks for that :)

I plan to mostly PVE for the time being so will give the Tats a go for the mo, when i get rich i'll get a pair of duals to try out ^^ but thats only after i get an Emi bow for just in case situations ;)
Thanks again
BH lvl 62 here :)

I would advise not to sacrifice any CON. Not because u loose HP (u can make up for this by using healing pots) , but mainly because u will get stunned all the time. Especially at higher levels, many mobs have stun and your faster kill speed with the +STR will be annihilated by the lost time when u are stunned.

For weapon , a good choice is either dual swords or a blunt.
I prefer blunts because we have masteries for that after all.

Or u could consider using a pole and do poleparties or duo with a healer (preferably a SE because he has vampiric rage buff). "Poling" half hp mobs , like the ones in tanor canyon,is the fastest way of leveling.

if you can avoid it dont PVP.... ever
if you are going to pvp just go +str and dex, no matter what happens you will always be the last one targeted and no matter how much hp you have you wont survive
you may as well do as much damage as possible before anyone realizes you're hitting them

i lvled side by side with a +con ws with stun resist armor
mob stun rate is so overpowered that even when the mobs are dark blue they still had like a 60% chance to land stun on me
my buddy was lucky to avoid stun 5% more than me

i'd recommend getting the extra damage tats and try to avaoid stunning mobs unless you are grouped
I never saw much difference in the Stun rate between a -8 CON BH and my no-tattoo WS. They seemed to get stunned about the same (too much).

exactlly what im saying

if you can avoid it dont ever fight a mob with any other skill except dagger skills if you have a shield
mob skills are so overpowered it really doesnt matter how you try to combat it. eventually it will land and it will hurt
lvl 72 BH here.

This is my setup.

Tallum light&heavy/maj jewels/lance+3(no SA)/Aoba(rsk focus) without a shield for increased evasion.

Tats +4 dex -4str

When I duo with a healer I keep my hp at 60% for the additional crits and I cut through mobs without a problem. I constantly switch between heavy and light depending on my current HP/MP. I only fight green mobs when I am duoing.

When I exp in non-aoe groups I mainly use my light and blunt for additional mp for spoils and stuns. I see no need for a shield.

For aoe I use heavy if I am pulling or holding the initial aggro. Light if I am only using sweep/whirlwind.

I love my HP way too much to do -8 con. Plus it makes you really unbalanced. when I bring my hp to 60% I still have more hp than any mage/dagger/archer/supportclass.

I don't know this for a fact but I probably have a kill rate that is comparable a dwarf with +8 str -8 con. However I can still pvp, tank, pull, and my stun resist is still high.

My Friend and clanmate is also a BH(takemeout) and he is lvl 74. He had +4 dex +4str -8con and during aoe he would be stunned 2 or 3 times as much as I would. Meaning his plus +4 dex +4 str didn't do crap seeing how he was stunned the whole time. During solo mobs and if my hp was below 60% I would normally hold aggro. Just recently he removed his +4 str -4 con, but is staying with the +4 dex -4con.
Going -4 STR on an dwarf is probobly one of the non smartest thing you can really do speicaly to put it on DEX, Dex give barly any bonus at all.

Anyhow +5 STR give an 13-14% damage bonus -5 CON you lose 5 levels of HP, the stun is non changable you get stunned as much anyway, hell I got -11 CON totaly on my dwarf and I get stunned as much as befor aka 45CON no changes at all. Con do help towards stun but we talk a tiny % change here.

Your beter off to maxmiise your damage for higher lv speed over time, and aim for a weapon with crit ( no risk they really do suck keep hp eg below 60%, I prefer ot keep mine abow 90% ) If you still must have an blunt thoght as truly it dont give you that big benefits with buffs ( except one blunt, Meteor shower with crit sa ) go sword or duals with crit sa, we talk 50% more damage with buffs, yes exactly 50% more damage with an +4 Dual SLS vs +4 AOBA at lv 60.
Thanks for the response everyone, has given me much to ponder, probably gonna give those tats a try and see what its like comparable to what i'm up to now. Thanks again for all the info ;)
Seeing how this is totally objective, I don't see how you can tell me that -4 strength is the "non smartest" thing I can do.

If you talked to anyone I party with, they will most likely tell you that I do my job very well. When you are pulling whole toi floors, the middle rooms in martyrs and any other place that has AOE stun mobs you can without a doubt tell the difference. why does being at 60% hp any difference from having -11 con and being at 90% hp. I bet there is almost no difference.

I did not directly attack you when I told you my setup. You can't tell me it doesn't work. I use it and it works very well. Please use your brain a little before you talk. otherwise you will only be wasting my time.
