And calling it a waste of time would be far too generous of a statement...
Now...before everyone starts up...I actually found three bunnies, so I did partake of some XP and SP scrolls. But the main reason I found them is because the same bunny kept respawning in the same place for the first few hours of the event. I just happened to be hunting that small area. When I did stop hunting and wandered around looking for rabbits. I found abso-smurf-ly nothing. Now I'm thankful that I got anything, but I could have done without the XP and the SP if I could truly feel like I was part of an event. I've been a strong supporter of your newly developed desire to give us events, but if all events are going to be some other type of lotto driven excercise in futility....don't do me anymore favors.
A real event doesn't need over-the-top rewards, it just needs to be plentiful enough so that the entire paying population can participate in one form or another. It should be a cool diversion from the normal bump and grind, not an uneventful (pun intended) invitation to see the countryside. Now, if any of you GM's or Dev's feel that scouring this lifeless landscape at these slow travel speeds looking for a string of angel hair pasta in a bowl of spaghetti is fun, I want to know why I don't see any of you roaming around on a daily basis enjoying the sights.
You could have just had alot of rabbits spawn, but have some easy to kill and have some that were high level with high patk and high run speed. I mean..could you imagine someone being chased down and murdered by a rabbit???
C'mon guys...please..just use a a bit of common sense on these events. I, for one, am sick of playing lottery-quest. I don't know of anyone that actively searched for rabbits after the first day. It really says something when people decide it's better to just grind than participate in an event. Just keep in mind...It's nothing wrong with making some parts of the game a bit relaxed.
While the feedback on the event is welcome, I did want to mention that event isn't quite over yet -- there will still be some bunnies on the loose the rest of the day. (And they have nasty big pointy teeth.)
Apparently nobody told you but this event was over opproximately after the 1st server restart..
Since then, we, the player community, just pretend to see and kill some Rabbit so that you won't feel embarrassed from being kept in the dark by your boss.
And i'd say it is a great event for those who didn't intend to really gain something. For me it was quite a pleasant suprise to find a rabbit. Even though it was the only rabbit i saw, even though the reward wasn't worth anything, it is fun and refreshing break from grinding :P
As far as i could understand, everyone gets grumpy if they cannot make millions during the event. But making adena through event is just another form of grinding, not very much different from regular grinding. Events that provide suprise, not adena, are much more valuable for me.

Honestly..I don't think it's about the rewards at all. Most people are very put off that they never even saw a rabbit. This is what happened at last year's Easter event. No one wants to be left out of the events, everyone wants something they can use, and people don't want to work excessively hard at something that's supposed to be a "diversion" from the usual grind.

;)
Then why do people keep killing me!!! I know I have bunny ears on, but come on I'm a big orc. Stop hurting me, I've got nothing left to give!!!!! :(
I agree here. Not a single time I as much as have seen a rabbit :/ I don't like most of those "go find something somewhere" events because by the time I get there that thing is usually already dead.
Same thing happened with Dafstin's event. Byt the time I got to the group clannies found it was already wiped or boss killed. no fun.

Never found a single rabbit played a few hours every day. My allaince holds 300 members less then a score found any rabbits. Seriously bad planning!
Now the event idea is fine neat little mobs that give more xp and more SP great I am perfectly happy with that just got to make the mobs more common or the rewards better.
Simple easter eggs hunt scenario for you if you have a easter egg hunt for 10 kids and put 3 eggs with 1 tiny peice of candy on them in a 5 acre plot of land you are going to have some seriously ****** off kids.
Do the same thing with 3 eggs and 50 pounds of candy in each egg you will have some seriously happy albeit fat kids and the rest envious but anxious for the next time.
Or you do the pratical thing you put dozens of eggs out so that each kid can find a couple and have some fun but none of them find enough to get fat off it!
For the future please get a clue on these events NCsoft wow that one was ******ed please for the sake of all the players spite, fire the developer that planned this one out and post an article on their dismissal on the forums
I couldn't participate at all since I have still not reinstalled my lineage client (for reasons that have been moved to the techincal boards *cough*) but I did actively participate in the last bunny event... well ya... I don't really miss seeing no bunnies so that's the least part of me being angry about screwed L2 client. :p
I found several bunnies. One in Dwarven Village on a near 70 toon that was red. One in Plains of the Lizardman near Oren that was dark blue to a level 25(pointless bunny! he was actually found 6 different times, always dark blue to every character, same spawn point). Honestly, the event was more of a non event. There was nothing special about actually finding a rabbit. At most, it cut 5-10 mobs off my next level. And I still have more SP than I'll ever need, so the scrolls were a non issue.
As far as events go, it was far from the worst event ever, but it was nothing spectacular either. Thanks for the attempt though.
The event favoured those who usually hunt in remote spots by rewarding them with a larger chance to find and kill a bunny. It definitely didn't hurt anyone, so I don't see the problem at all.
Then again, it is about time for a big rewards one for me to miss.
While the feedback on the event is welcome, I did want to mention that event isn't quite over yet -- there will still be some bunnies on the loose the rest of the day. (And they have nasty big pointy teeth.)
Yes, but sadly the servers went down, so some of us (the eurocommies :p ) can't play today.
Good event was on lineage one had to hunt foxes. Foxes spawned all over the place everyone was able to kill alot. Thing was though that most times only drop a haste/ brave/ elven wafer or healing potions while once in a while dropped enchant scrolls. Thats a good event. When only 100 ppl out of some 5k+ per server even saw a rabbit kinda sux =/ just my opinion

emm it sounded like u increased bunnies or reward .. so i waste more time to hunt em to see .. nothing changed...
so. the joke wasnt good , when did the REAL event start ? ;)
Lol I was so dissapointed in this event until tonight at 8:00PM. Its now 10:00. I was lvling a new character, lvl 17 in AC. I see this little white thing next to a ol mahum. Automated friend kills ol mahum, goes on. Im like wow, run really quick, one hit the rabbit, I jump to lvl 19.5 :D. I was so happy. I hate to lvl from 17 to 20. I then port out to buy some ss, head on north to ruins of despair. On the way there I see another white furry thing. I hit once. No dmg, I nuke it. 1 dmg. Im like wth... I bring in my prophet, she 1 hits it. Gets 10% out of it (shes 46). I move on further north towards where you start dark wizard quest, I see another furry thing. I hit it, I go from 19.5 to 20.75. Right now I am so happy. If I didnt have to work tomorrow I would stay and finish my dark wizard quest. I LOVE THIS DRAMATIC ENDING TO THE EVENT. I got almost 4 lvls out of it :D. Keep the events coming please!

Grats man you got something from this event. I searched with my lowbie toon but couldn't find any. Oh well maybe next event.
Its always the same..
You dont get what u want, then u complain..
I spent a total of 3 hours hunting for rabbits, and found a total of 12.
And believe me, I dont have the patience to go around in aden. I have to admit the first day I had a look around but couldnt find any, and felt a bit demotivated.
All in all was a decent event, or at least better then the usual grinding. Besides.. if u could find a rabbit, u got something in exchange that u didnt have before. If you couldnt find one, you have not lost anything compared to the normal grinding.
Only my 2 cents.
Besides.. if u could find a rabbit, u got something in exchange that u didnt have before. If you couldnt find one, you have not lost anything compared to the normal grinding.
The problem with events like this (event mobs which give increased exp/sp) is that if you actually stop grinding and use the time to look for the event mobs, you DO lose exp you could have gotten from grinding. And if you then do not find any event rabbits, all you get for the time you spent searching them is a big fat zero. And with this particular event it was even worse - for anybody even moderately high level (i.e. most people playing the game), one rabbit gave you as much exp as maybe ten to twenty mobs, for higher levels even less. So you could have gotten the same exp and SP just by hunting for maybe five minutes. It was simply disappointing, because the rabbits were FAR FAR too rare. I know a total of four people in my clan who found a rabbit over the course of this event, and in one case it gave no exp at all. So the majority of the clan did not even SEE one during the whole event. How sad is that.
IMHO actively participating in an event (i.e. not grinding but spending all time looking for event stuff) should give at least comparable rewards to normal grinding. Not necessarily in adena or items, but simply in "satisfaction". You should definitely not think afterwards "I should have just gone exp'ing like usual, would have been more fun".
I m sorry but I still think that with my LVL30 (at the time) artisan I wouldnt be able to grind 2 levels in 3 hours.
Or maybe I would but to me would be much more boring then going around (maybe grinding as well) clicking on the macro button.
However, I have to say that if i was killing the bunnies with my main LVL41 SH I would have probably got 10% max each.. not really worth.
Compared to previous events, this one was very poor.

Thats good, last rabbit event I found dozens of rabbits...there was supposed to be "much more" rabbits this time, which clearly wasn't the case.
if u could find a rabbit, u got something in exchange that u didnt have before
Like what? XP and SP? in the hours it takes to find them, you can gain that XP/SP through normal play.
If you couldnt find one, you have not lost anything compared to the normal grinding.
Yes, you have, you've used the time you could have used grinding or playing with friends.
And whats worse is that the event simply brought out alot of griefers making normal gameplay even harder...so after being used to have good fun during events (up until christmas event), it was a hard bummer to go through this disappointment :(
While the feedback on the event is welcome, I did want to mention that event isn't quite over yet -- there will still be some bunnies on the loose the rest of the day. (And they have nasty big pointy teeth.)
Obviously, you have not understand wad the OP is trying to say.
A good event is an event with an organiser that put in their heart and mind in trying to make everyone happy. Not just some recycle event that only a certain portion of the entire server population can enjoy.( I dunno whether u guys enjoy, but to me killing a rabbit and get some drops is not exactly fun. I rather kill pumkin, at the very least they talk)
Chaos,
read my post for an answer to yours.
BTW, i didnt lose anything whatsoever while hunting, I also found one while resting before a RAID.
If you're expecting ncsoft to make an event that drops millions on players, forget it. They're not that stupid to screw up the economy of a game that could potentially create revenue for 1 or 2 years more.
They need to keep the balance between the complexity of the event and the (statistical) amount of people that will win with it.
Failure to do this, will only create an impressive number of newly made millionaires (or in the case of the rabbits, u could get even 4-5 levels, but with no SP to spend in skills after).
Then if you ask me if I would have liked 500K and 50% XP from every bunny, the answer is .. yes :)
They have made events that millions can be made on, and I'm sure another will be had soon. I'm glad they're having these filler things between those, though, instead of just putting the appropriate space with nothing in it.

Don't know how long you've been in the game, but thats basically how events worked for the most part. Especially the raid boss event in some cases gave 10's, if not hundreds of millions.
And funny enough, despite the pumpkin/first letter/raid I&II event and all that, the economy is moving at the expected pace.

They could simply have made a complete copy of last years event, that would have generated alot more positive response.
I think the main complaint should have been that there was no warning not to go looking for those things - the event text was plain out misleading. Anyone who was searching for a bunny was invariably disapponited - anyone who chanced upon one would probably have enjoyed it as a pleasant surprise.
Then again, I could imagine a cooler, more complex easter events, with unique spring-style headgear like wreaths and light visible caps, blooming trees etc. But the world is not designed for that, and unless Korea decides to do such things, it won't happen.
I know I always loved Rune Midgard turning pink in a shower of cherry blossoms in the spring time, but in Aden that's not a matter as simple as downloading a new map and porting people there instead of the normal one when they leave the map on the server. ;)
I don't know what people have against free experience and SP.
I guess I'm doomed to be ignorant for the rest of my life. xD
its not that. nobody made a dime out of it. so they are whining.
i myself didnt find a rabbit. i sat on my duff in dion buying mats.
i crafted a scallop jamadhr and sold it for a tidy 1m profit.
i dont need events at all. period. i can make a wad of cash at the drop of a hat. exp takes patience and time. this is something that apparently very very few people have. i am perfectly happy to grind on a 1x mob all day and gain 1 lvl than to grind on 4x mobs all day for 4 lvls. i gain more out of the 1x mobs anyway.
me n u, mal. probly just us two actually appreciated the event. it got the noob twinks out of dion so i could buy stuff properly, and it probly got you somethin good too.
No, its about events dropping severely in quality and its about events no longer feeling worthwhile.
If you do not participate at all, then thats good for you.
As for "wanting event to make profit", you know, I've made over 150 million adena in the last week and I am still making more money, so its not like I looked for the rabbits for profit.
That's the whole thing - this event had false advertisement. It was a "nice touch" type one to put a little smile on your face when you get a little extra - just like the Christmas one. If you wanted to enjoy it, it wasn't one that you were meant to farm, not one that you participate in actively - it was just a little nice extra.
I still feel these are just "things to pass the time between big events", and don't think they're a bad thing - rather, just not much of a good thing either. It's just that a bit of a good thing is better than not a good thing at all! :p
The biggest problem is that it stresses out people two ways.
1. Stressed out over that what they expected the events to be like is no longer there.
2. Stressed out over that we now won't know wether next event will be a dud or if they actually listen, so you'll get disappointed people either way. If there's nothing in next event, people who did the event will be disappointed. If there's good rewards, people who didn't do the event because others have sucked will be disappointed.
They are painting themselves into a true "****ed if they do, ****ed if they don't" corner, one which they need to get out of ASAP.
It was an horrible event, and I can list a lot of things why, and PS it have nothing really to do much about the reward.
* First of every event who's limiut themself to a few lucky peoples who get to see them suck mayor ***, event should be made for ALL of the players not just a few.
* Events also need to be fun, events aka GRINDING is not fun at all as it's just the same thing as befor just some extra rewards, like the pumkin event, this events are as well hell a boring.
99% of all events in l2 envolv the things abow who basicly dosnt make them fun at all, thers ben some events who dont involve the thing I just described, like the Dark Lord events and they where alos a hell a lot more fun.

1: the event was available to everyone. if you didnt find a rabbit, youre SOL.
2: if you want an event that isnt grinding but gives away rewards the same as the pumpkin event, you have a lottery situation. no two ways around it. the luck of the draw.
EITHER go grind, and happen upon a rabbit if there is one; OR hunt rabbits.
DONT try to do both.
how many ppl complained the dark lord event was camped by farmers? betcha you did too. the rewards were no doubt great, but lay off the "give me a no-grind easy and fun event that will give good rewards"
Spudnik: Thanks for the flame, not really feeling like discussing anything with you plus you didnt seem to get anything of my post, I will explain it agian.
When in the first place did I talk about reward? I did not ever mentioned it, I was talking about event and what makes them fun, not there reward.
About the rabit, I get the same XP 1 rabit do in 3-4 min grinding, I did never hunt the rabits and never plan to do so either. I did see one but whats the point? The event is still not for all. Becose you need to be extream lucky to find one. yes where ingame +40 hours htis event saw one.
And no I never complained a bit about the dark lord event just to fill you in there, it was greate fun, managed to get the entire server to work togeter towards them and have a lot of fun fights with the mobs. And for the reward, I picked up 10 BSOE got more cash from other events then this but hell I don't care about the reward me and my friends had great fun under the event becsoe it was beter made then this lucky events where just a few can see em.
you want a fun event that doesnt make you grind for hours to accomplish the goal of the event.
you want an event that everyone can access, and everyone can participate in.
let me think for a moment...............
i know! how about an easy to kill mob scattered accross the server that anyone can kill and get massive amounts of exp and sp?
oh wait, the rabbit event is over. ROFLCOPTERBBBBBBQCAKES
if the rabbits were so freakin good exp that it saved you 3-4mins of grind, why didnt u kil it? u saved no doubt at least 50 SS or 12 bsps. if it gave you the same exp, youve cut your grind by that much more.
and really how hard were they to kill? 1 hit ftw!
they gave no other reward besides exp. this was a no-grind event.

Wad!? How complex is an rabbit event? Is there a hidden code that I am not aware of? Can someone enlighten me?
Millionare? I am a multi millionare for your info and still I cannot buy any A grade gear except a lousy clean Elemental Sword which no one wants selling at 31mil(for your info the standard price is 24-28mil, in other words I bought at the wrong price lolx).
I have to correct you, NCSoft did not screw up. They did not even make right as far as ingame economy is concerned. Therefore they have nothing to screw up, it is already in the mess in the first place.

I have a comfortable 9 digit bank account. Full B gear (several weapon types/two characters). Why do I have the feeling you thought everything should be affordable just by going out and grinding, without any work in the market?

The point is that this was a ... non-event, at least for many players.
So the event starts, players spend hours walking around in remote places to find the rabbits, but most (as can be seen in the threads) do not even SEE one on the first one or two days. And when they finally find one, they find out that they just give exp - and for anybody even remotely higher level, just not enough to justify actively looking for the event mobs.
There are people who never even saw a rabbit during the whole event, even though they were online for hours each and every day.
No, people do not want event mobs that instantly lvl you up three levels no matter if you're lvl 20 or lvl 75. And people do not want event mobs which drop 10m adena and lvl 12 crystals, or full S grade equipment. People just want an event which a.) actually CAN BE EXPERIENCED by players (i.e. more rabbits, so that you are practically guaranteed to see at least one per hour of playing) and b.) it should be fun. Fun not necessarily means "getting rich". But it means that IF you finally find an event mob, something noteworthy should happen. Even the christmas event was more fun. Sure, the christmas trees were completely useless, but they were FUN to put up in town, at least you had something to DO. Have the rabbits drop easter eggs that give you a 20min increased mp/hp regen buff. Whatever. But finally finding my one and only rabbit on the last evening of the event, only to have it give me xp of about five mobs was kind of "Hm. So that's what they do. Seems I have not missed much."
But really, the biggest problem simply was that the event just ... did not happen at all for many players.
i've know of only 2 people.. JUST 2... that got any reasonable amount of xp/sp from it... 120k for both.. and they said that was only at the start of the event.
Everyone else seems to be getting the normal low lvl rabbits spawning all over the place.. i think this is rather stupid to have rabbits like that.... specially when they are like 1/3 days roughly if you've been all over hell and back.
Meanwhile i'm seeing sever "cough" players "cough" running around targeting rabbits and killing them before anyone else can even chance it... (reported)....
A well, i'd be happy to kill even just one rabbit and actually get at least something for it..... there should not be lvl 1 rabbits roaming around everywhere.
(((They're not that stupid to screw up the economy of a game that could potentially create revenue for 1 or 2 years more)))).
Pumpkin event! I spend 20 million buying nector in that event have in turn made about 80 million back and still have 20 million in magic haste pots to sell and about 40 soul crystals lv 8,9,10 also I never sold most my enchant scrolls but instead enchanted everything all my toons own so if those were sold instead that would have been another 20-30 million.
But really, the biggest problem simply was that the event just ... did not happen at all for many players.
thats the bottom line! Only about 5% of the people on each server got to see this event. So naturally the majority of the players feel cheated and dissappointed. If you can't understand this you must be very dense or flaming for the sake of argueing. this was the worst planned event ever! Now I hated the x-mas one because it was mostly valueless to do and the drops screwed up our groups loot rotation but it was something neat and different and I knew many would enjoy it so it was no big deal to me. The difference here was that almost no one got to enjoy it! We were excited for an event and then never noticed anything. If you build up hype and then nothing really happens its common psychology to realize people will be dissappointed and in the fact that we were flatly told that we would see much more rabbits then last time and then not well obvioulsy we feel cheated and lied to. God knows I won't believe another thing Mistryl ever says.
But really, the biggest problem simply was that the event just ... did not happen at all for many players.
that was the whole point.
read the event page again please.
to find and catch a magical rabbit
not rabbits have taken over aden. if u didnt find a rabbit, TOUGH NOOGIES. seems you dont have enough prowess. hunt some more.
it specifically says you need skill to find and kill the rabbits.
if all you did was pan around going " hmmmm wonder here the rabbits are" u were 99% unlikely to find one.
the skilled hunters all went out with macros to /target rabbits. those that got 12 rabbits likely found their levelling experiences vastly improved.
think what 12 rabbits for you could have meant: 36 %.
36! thats a weeks grind in 12 kills. not 12 thousand.
use some skill, and hunt the rabbits, thats all the event wants you to do. if thats too hard, you need to go find an easier pve game.
magic easter eggs that regen? i dont think you would have liked that either. they likely would have been sold 50m each, and those that saw they had the same icon as a Stone of Purity would be selling "easter eggs" 50 m and conning everyone out of cash.
i would have loved to hear someone complain over being scammed like that. it would men the event was all too profitable for some, and not at all for others and the complaints cycle continues again.
just play the **** event and dont try to make it perfect. whether the bunnies dropped 100k exp or 100k adenas, half of us would love and half of us would hate the event. try to look at it from positive aspect next time please.
lol , just shuddup spudnik ...
we still waiting for the REAL event starting , this was a april fools joke ...
if ppl have better things todo than hunting event things ... there is NO event .... u can follow me ? ^^
Running my SR every evening for 1 or 2 hours across the map during the event period brought me 4 rabbits. DV, CEM, TC and Plain of Liz. Those 4 let me gain about 750K xp. I think it was worth spending a couple of hours running lose through the fields.
1: the event was available to everyone. if you didnt find a rabbit, youre SOL.
2: if you want an event that isnt grinding but gives away rewards the same as the pumpkin event, you have a lottery situation. no two ways around it. the luck of the draw.
You are quite wrong on both accounts.
Because the event entailed actually finding a rabbit and killing it, it was only available to people who actually were able to do this. Someone running around Aden trying to find something during an event hardly seems to differ from someone who runs around trying to find that same thing when the event is no longer running, provided that they do not find it in either scenario.
This is because with hindsight, we can know the person's probabilitty of having found a rabbit in both scenario's was zero, so they would have been able to participate just as much in the week's before the event as they would have in the week's during the event because they would not be finding a rabbit.
So we can safely say that true availability may only occur when you find a rabbit, otherwise you are participating in the event no more than you were before the event started.
Now the second one is a bit more obvious and easy.
NC could simply create an event that involves completing a non-repeatable quest which offers to each person who completes it the same unique (unique being used here to denote there is no other way of obtaining it) nontradeable, nondroppable reward. Now since the quest will be designed in such a way that every character, regardless of class or level can both undertake and complete it, NC will have ensured that no person will be left behind (I couldn't resist), and everyone stands a 100% ability to participate according to the prior definition.
And the event reward, which we have previously guaranteed everyone who wants to be able to receive will be able to do so, can range from 3 L2 day blessed enchant weapon scrolls (of a grade chosen by the character completing the quest), to a pirate's hat. Because the items are nondroppable and nontradeable, they cannot have any effect on the equipment or materials economies, and the requirement of using blessed enchant scrolls and not normal enchantment scrolls is twofold.
1) Because there is no chance of the blessed scrolls blowing up the weapons, it is likely that everyone, no matter what their risk aversion is, will use these scrolls as the risk of only losing the enchantments instead of the whole weapon poses little loss to the player should the overenchanting fail. And since each scroll carries the risk of wiping the weapon of all enchantments, there will be a period of higher demand for normal enchantment scrolls as players seek to return their weapons to the previous +3 enchantment levels. This should hold even for players with overenchanted weapons provided that the overenchantment levels are not too high
2) As the blessed enchant scrolls are really only beneficial when used to overenchant weapons, players will seek to first ensure that their weapons are already enchanted to +3, which must be done by buying enough enchantment scrolls to do so. This will again raise the demand for normal enchantment scrolls. With each blessed scroll carrying a 40% probability of returning the weapon to a nonenchanted status, there is a 40% probability after each enchantment that the player will need to buy another 3 normal enchantment scrolls in order to reap the full potential of the next blessed enchantment scroll they are going to use. As the player has 3 blessed enchantment scrolls at their disposal, there is the potential that the player will end up buying at least 9 normal enchant weapon scrolls following the completion of this quest. Thus such a reward will have positive feedback on the enchant scroll economy, pushing up prices for normal enchant scrolls.
Thus disproving your statement that good rewards must only occur when one holds a lottery.

Rabbit total for me last year = zero.
Rabbit total for me this year = 12.
I think that qualifies as 'much more rabbits.'
I believe NCsoft did up the spawn rate on the last day, as I found six bunnies that day, same as the number I found all the rest of the days combined. Got about 2 1/2 levels among two toons.

I don't know what people have against free experience and SP.
I guess I'm doomed to be ignorant for the rest of my life. xD
What do you fail to understand here? I don't get it.
Special Event is supposed to be that. Special. Fun. Rewarding. Rewarding does not nessesarily need to be in a form of getting millions of adena drop on your lap. It is supposed to be fun.
Where in the hell is the whole "FUN" factor of 3 rabbits spawning accross the entire map of Aden and you gotta run everywhere trying to check every nook and cranny to find it and hope it wasn't already killed by a player or the 24-hour crews?
As it has been pointed out earlier, unless you happen to see a rabbit in your hunting spot, it is truly dumb to run around looking for em. In the amount of time it takes to find em, I can assure you, I can get same if not more XP on regular hunting.
I have found 1 rabbit towards the end of the event.
1 rabbit, whoopty-dooo, found one.
It happened to be spawned in my hunting field. I kill it, the thing dies in 1 shot (where's the fun in this?!?) and gives me 0xp, 0sp, 0 drops (where's the fun in this?!?)
"free xp" you say? Look above, where is the Free or XP or Anything in there? If you'd like, I can post a screenie of the 0's for ya :p
So pls elaborate on what was so great about this event?
Many more rabbits will be found they said, uhm........where?
This event was dumb, at least in the Christmas Tree things, you collect enough and setup a bunch of trees, so that makes it look pretty cool. This..........no.
By all accounts, the Christmas event blows this craptastic Rabbit event right out of the water.
every time we have an event that gives items, its listed on the vent page exactly what we get.
the l2 letter event, the pumpkin event, the dark lord event, i could go on.
they all listed event items to be given away on completetion of a task
the bunny event = no items, just catch bunnies.
and thats the way i like it. i would rather have a million people complain that they didnt find a bunny than have one guy in a free items giveaway event complain he didnt get any.
I've read all your posts to my little rant and I've yet to see where you have the grounds to even try to make a point. You don't seem to like events. You would be perfectly okay if there never was an event as you appear to like the game as it stands. Now I concede that you're well entitled to your opinion, but I'm confused as to how a person that doesn't even participate in an event can brazenly advocate the usefulness of one.
It appears that we have a difference of opinion as to what an event should be. By your standards, anything that is out of the norm can possibly be labeled as an event. By this logic, if NCSoft was to announce a Fireworks event and then place one firecracker somewhere on the map and tell everyone to try to find it (whereas in this case simple ownership of the firecracker would be the prize in itself), to you this would be a valid event despite the obvious lack of practicality. I on the other hand have higher expectations of NCSoft and I will not easily allow them to be so lazy, neither will I send out the impression that I'll be satisfied with whatever they send down the pike. I am not NCSoft's fanboi, groupie, or yes man...I'm NCSoft's customer and this company/client relationship does not thrive on "you'll get what I give you and you better be satisfied".
I appreciate all of NCSofts hard work, but time to time all businesses need to be reminded that they're in the business of customer satisfaction. While I freely admit that you can't please all the people all of the time, the goal should always be to try to. To that end, I would think that they would work within the confines of what people have said makes a great event.
1. An event should provide a fun distraction from the normal everyday grinding. (This prevents people from getting stuck in a rut or allowing their account to expire until the next Chronicle release).
2 An event should not have a negative impact on the game's economy. (If it takes more than three weeks for the game's market to make a self-correction from event rewards, it's proabably going to upset alot of people).
3. Remember to make events that everyone will want to participate in. (Any dolt can place an grail in the middle of a field and let those that show up fight for it, it's nothing wrong with using some imagination)
If they can keep up with these simple constraints, Events should be much more appealing to us all.
(By the way Mistryl....you're now on my most wanted list...)
Reo
How do you get complaining from Grats man you got something from this event. I searched with my lowbie toon but couldn't find any. Oh well maybe next event. Also you found 12 in three hours, hmmm had a little help huh. Let me guess you have more than one account and have lots of adena. Don't defend this event or should I say non event. It's an insult to the player base (real players) to have an event where you waiste invaluable in game time to hunt down something that is not worth the time to hunt. Its hard enough in this game to grind constantley. The drop rate is rediculas and economy prices are bad and getting worse. So I have to spend time I should be grinding, running around giran looking for something just a little cheaper than norm so I can buy it and sell for a little higher price. Thats not what I call a game. But it is part of this one so I have to do it. Im lvl 65 still in B/C gear. Understandable because I dont cheat and my idea of playing a game is not working a vertual economy. So ya I look forward to events so I can make extra adena so I can compete. Not on even ground with everyone else but just a bit closer. So don't give me the "Oh the bunny event was good you just have to look bull. NCSOFT knows they went to far with the nerf or they wouldn't be polling us.
OK there was a complaint for you. I hope the next event is better and we can all enjoy it.
think what 12 rabbits for you could have meant: 36 %.
What are you smoking? A level 73 clanmate killed a rabbit and got about 220k, with an overhit. A rough estimate of 10k for 0.01% means 10 rabbits would provide 2-3% of a level. Thats about 2 hours of leveling.
2 An event should not have a negative impact on the game's economy. (If it takes more than three weeks for the game's market to make a self-correction from event rewards, it's proabably going to upset alot of people).
This is not a problem. There has never been an event with a negative impact on the economy.
What has happened is that some people who sell overpriced enchants, soul crystals, buff scrolls, etc., to lazy ebayers, have there business fall off for a short time. They think they are the economy, but they are not.
its prolly nice exp if u killed a rabbit with a pre 40 toon,
but on main chars it still wasnt worth to hunt for.
let the poor rabbits rest in peace....
next "real" event will come.
im sure NC dont ignore so much pi**ed posts and give us anything like last year, something worth to hunt ;)
my personal vote is for the sweet RB thingi... so we may get some "cash" to blew up more weapons :p
would help the messed economy alot atm ...
may we get a "judgement day" event , evry RB farmer/bot is red and have more than 5 PK's , hehe

sounds a lot like the arrowhead run event. With fireworks being the reward. The fastest times didn't really win anything... great heh.
Anyways this event blowed. The best events are the ones bots/farmers have a hard time participating in while legit and active players have the advantage. For example the Raidboss events but I'm unsure of these events now because of the Raid Boss farmer problem, they will simply raid the bosses nonstop.
I would like future Battle Tournaments to start inside ones own server where there is a server tournament and the best of each server move on. As well making it more advantageous to having certain classes, a team bringing a Plainswalker into the match is only forfeiting a 10x better Nuker or archer. I would like however an event which would bring a very unique item into the game. All events have had rewards which could be gained through other means. The only rare items I seem to have at present are the Chrono weapons, I hope something is able to be done with those...
i didn't read the whole post, but i read some of them, and here's a suggestion:
instead of giving out xp/sp/5-7 digits of adena reward, i would rather see lots of rabbits in open field, and they drop lesser healing/healing/haste 1/alacrity pot (all store bought stuff). then for each rabbit, it'll have a low low chance to drop scrolls and what not. this way, ppl don't have to look for them, and it give a little boost to players that lvl in open field. furthermore it will create a pleasant them of easter (imagine in cemetary, you see a bunch of mobs and a bunch of bunnies inbetween them).
