I've recently been thinking, since my healer is becoming a Prophet how do I mae her into a battle Prophet considering that they don't have strong nuker skills to begin with! and what armour and weapon would I use as a battle prophet?
Not worried about money! So saying that what is the best heavy armour for my battle prophet that I can get? considering that I have my duals already! :)
A wolf doesn't contribute to levelling speed, so it's purely optional - I believe it helps significantly in keeping certain rooms though, and in manoring. :)
I'm saying not worried about money as in I just want to now the best not whats the most affordable! and what do most people prefer a wolf or a dragon and for a battle prophet will a dragon work? What would be my tactics? have wolf attack then have my Prophet attack with her duals? since thy don't have strong nuking skills
Ok say I want to wear heavy armour in CG what am I going for full plate but that has a shield do I have to use the shield? or do I use something like the temp mithril set wthat has no shield but Evasion +4? Sorry I'm just asking alot b/c I'm turning her into battle prophet tonight so I need as much help as I can get to try and make this work :)
use full plate with shield and either a yaksa mace with health or sword of nightmare with health, but make sure u get the health SA. without it, you would die faster.
buff youself with BtB, BlessSHield, focus, guidance, deathwhisper, haste, shield, might (others as you see fit - Holy Weapon if you plan on going into undead fields.) zerk only when you feel confident that you know what youre doing.
same on dragon/wolf. make sure u have food and BeastSoulShots.
to play in this fashion:
let the pet hit the mob until u see it drop to 75%health, at that point, hit fast, hit hard, hti often. make sure the beast spams SS. this will drop a mob faster.
if money isnt an issue, then let me suggest to you a few tattoo setups:
+4dex -2str -2con
dont bother with int wit and men. no need.
the +4 dex while using a shield will ABSOLUTELY make your shield defence increase by a lot. also your evasion, runspeed and attack speed to name a handful of benefits.
the downside: loss of str. loss of con. this makes you hit less hard, and get stunned a bit more, and loose a handful of hp. this can more than be offset by your str focus zerk and BtB buffs.
most important advice: NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ZERK A DRAGON OR WOLF.
OH MY GOD thank you so much I needed someone to tel me exactly that LOL I had to copy and past your post to make sure I remembered it when it comes to my Prophet tonight :) Thanks for your help and basically that weapon is probably the best weapon of choice no doubt? would you be able to by any chance givem e more infor on the tattoos? like how to get those ones? How I use them? stuff like that I've never experimented with them yet so they are really new to me heh
when its time for the merchant of mammon to appear, speak to him. he wants Ancient Adenas for each tattoo. you must buy 10 units of the same type of dye to make one tattoo. once you have the correct dyes form the merchant of mammon, see a symbol maker. he will make the dyes into that tattoo. you cannot drop, sell or remove the tattoo, so be sure you want exactly that tattoo made. i have suggested 2 tatoos, but you may equip 3 tattoos at level 40 +.
How do I make sure I get SA on my weapon does that mean I have to make sure my weapon is +4 at least enchant? Or how do I go about getting it? I know some people who probably sell the weapon have already put SA on it hopefully but what if it's not already on?
oh thanks I'm not a prophet yet but I'm SO close to it I just wan ot make sure as sson as she hits 40 tonight I want to have my gear and weapon ready :)
As a lvl 65 Battle Prophet I strongly urge you to NOT use a single-handed sword and shield. I have tried single sword w/ shield, two-handed, and duals. You want duals. FOCUS duals, not health. Battle Prophets are not a PvP class and get nothing from the Health SA. I have -10 CON and I stil have plenty of HP for PvE. Focus realy really really helps kills speed.
Get
+4 STR -4 CON
+4 DEX -4 COn
+4 WIT -4 MEN
tattoos when you can afford them.
Use Full Plate (no shield) and +4 Raid*Spirit (FOCUS) duals.
Wolves are a funa ddition but not needed for the battle prophet style.
Better: Use a Berserker Blade Focus. It wastes less SS, you don't need to risk breaking it on overenchant (which is no issue for you of course), it's not ugly as sin, and it has a stronger focus SA. :)
let the pet hit the mob until u see it drop to 75%health, at that point, hit fast, hit hard, hti often. make sure the beast spams SS. this will drop a mob faster.
If you do this as a prophet your pet will surely die. Maybe not a dragon but a wolf will. The Prophet ALWAYS attacks first. otherwise your pet will have aggro and you'll never get it back. Don't worry about letting your pet do any specific % of damage, just fight normally, and send the wolf in AFTER you've already hit the mob.
+4dex -2str -2con
Umm He's not a Gladiator. Dex is good... but STR is the important one... DON'T subract from STR.
dont bother with int wit and men. no need.
Ummm no... have you seen how fast Prophets cast? You absolutely need +4 WIT... for cast speed and increased rez %.
most important advice: NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ZERK A DRAGON OR WOLF.
Lies all Lies... Wolves LOVE Zerk. But you don't have them tank EVER. As long as you attack first you'll likely keeep aggro. The mob may switch at the end if the wolf gets many ctricals... but in that case (unles you're fighting crazy high lvl mobs) the wolf can take a smack or two and you have time to heal him. Use Bsps battle heal.
Ok so I'm a bit confused now I currently have CG raid Duals but they don't say anything about focus on therm? just +4 will increase attack speed! How do I put Focus on them? and second off what tattos am I looking to use on my Battle Prophet? and I think I'm going to use my dragon instead of wolf so what kind of dragon should I use? I currently have a Wind!
You need different C Grade duals to get them Focus - and you can read all about SA stratics (http://lineage2.stratics.com). :) Find their special ability guide section
Raid*Raid when enchanted to +4 give you Haste SA. Take them to Blacksmith of Mammon and exchange them for Raid*Spirit Duals. They get Focus when over enchanted.
The most important tattoo for you are +4 STR -4 CON to help you do consistantly more damage.
The next two are debatable which is more important. +4 WIT -4 MEN increases your cast speed (helps when casting Battle Heal on yourself or pet) and % XP returned on res but lowers your total MP and mpregen (not good, but not too noticable and you can't full buffa whole party anyways).
There's also the +4 DEX -4 CON. This increases your run speed, attack, speed, and critical chance.
All this -CON does lower your HP and make you easier to stun but it's still a good thing. Just be a bit careful around stunners.
Since you're a prophet you don't really want a Star (you don't have MP recharge) so I'd go with a Twilight if you just want a strider or a Wind if you want a pet who'll do some damage (also useful for stuns).
Ok I'm going to stick to my Dragon of Wind becuase I enjoy his company! Just a few more questions!
How many tattoos can I have?
Where & when do I find blacksmith mammon?
And is CG Full Plate worth getting even if I don't have shield?
You can have 3 tatoos. Make sure not to get them until after you complete your second class change.
BS of Mammon is hard to find. He teleports between the many Catacombs... shout and people are likely to help if they've seen him. use Dawn priest teleports to decrese the cost of searching for him.
Full Plate is absolutely worth getting, even if you don't get the shield. You don't need the shield for the bonus.
ok thanks a ton so 3 tattoo's after class change and wait to see if anyone has seen blacksmith or if he's around ok thanks a ton again I'll make sure to give you a shout if I have any more problems with my Battle Prophet
Wind hatchling gets UD for emergencies. Level 35 Dragon in UD has over 1100 pdef and 1000mdef with the LOWEST hatchling armor. UD lowers their attack speed and movement speed, so it is perfect for stopping them from dying.
UD is very useful... Stun is pretty much pointless even if your hatchling is higher level than the mob. I have stunned ONE 30th level mob in 40 tries with a 35th Wind hatchling.
Get the hatchling a weapon... even the lowest one increases your attack speed to something decent and adds a little patk.
If you are killing things with a hatchling, kill things that are lower than the hatchling if at all possible. Anything higher than them kills them fast. If you pick lower mobs, they can actually tank without UD and are reasonably efficient to heal as well.
So my Healer has a level 35 Wind Hatchling basically if I hunt right outside of Dion with him and kill the eye balls and stuff he should be ok? Since that stuff out there is dark dark blue to me anyways!
Hey Tiffy.. Just wanted to give you a bit of encouragement for the battle prophet. I've pretty much pioneered mine from a time no one ever considered using a Prophet to do more than buff and rest. It's tough, but since most variations have been played out at this point, there should be good info on pretty much any setup you are curious about. Cordelea has given great advise on what to look for when building up your toon and I would encourage you to follow those guidelines. I can tell you that I have used my Prophet to take down a 6x Hawkeye self buffed plus Haste 2 and won with MP & HP to spare. And I am still running around in B grade... lol It's not easy, but it's do-able and fun. :) Good luck with your character and feel free to PM me on the board if you have any questions or need any help.
Thanks a ton I really need the advice heh I'm not currently at 40 but by tomorrow I will be and I need to make sure I have my equipment ready to go once I hit that level (even thouclass change quest is long) I am still determine to make my prophet more then just a buffer/healer and I want to be able to go out there and *try* to put fear in some of my fellow CG companions ;) lol kidding! But I want to at least put up a fight and give them a challenge and prove that I'm a competitor! So if you've go any other little timbit to add in well I'm building my Batter Prophet just let me know I would love to get all the advice I can get and thanks again you guys for the help and advice in advance :)
I'd likely find mobs that are green to your prophet, and tank with the prophet, using the Wind hatchling as a damage dealer.
(Its not gonna be massive DD, but hey every little bit helps.)
Thalenduros is right, don't waste time on blues. Unless you have the perfect pet party (IMO Prophet, BD, Sws, SE), powerfeeding your pet isn't much more effective than simply letting it eat mobs you'd normally hunt for XP.
I'm not sure when I made the change, but I'm hunting yellow and light red mobs solo. I understand at lower levels that's a bit more difficult. One thing I would suggest is when you are planning to go out and solo, leave your robes in the warehouse. They take up too much valuable weight which can be better used for carrying heal pots, quick heal pots (emergency only, so maybe 5 or 10) and about double the amount of SS. Keep maybe 300 to 400 SPS on you, the rest of your weight up to 50% fill with SS. Albeit, buffing and healing is slower with heavy than in robes, a +4 Wit -4 Men greatly mitigates that making it very agreeable.
Once you hit 52, your ability to feel out new mobs to hunt will be made much easier with obtaining Return 2. As you try out new mobs, if you find yourself overwhelmed you can simply insta-return and work your way around to another area.
As I remember other tips and tricks, I'll post them. :)
Tiffy you have a BD right?? anyway I play my battle phophet as a BD clone with buff:) i tried using 2 hand sword with focus but I like dual better because I can lvl longer due to less SS usage compare to 2hand sword less trip back to town.
plus dual really help when the mobs has like 2%hp left and your 2nd blade on the dual kill it, instead of waiting for a full 2hand sword swing and use up SS for a full damage hit. I use all the gear I have from my BD and same tattoo also, from D grade to B grade. so here my sugestion, either wait to trade your dual kat from blacksmith of mammon (coming monday) or buy raid*spirit dual that is at least +4( i know u will try to red them:) get a full plate armor set no need to get the shield unless u plan on pvp alot. the armor bonus does not need to have the shield, while the shield bonus need the armor set. The main thing that will slow us down is when we run out of SS, so without a shield u can carry more SS and u can do DD well with heavy armor and battle heal, just carry a few potion to cover. tat u can use at lvl 40 is +4str-4con.
Go-Go battle Prophet team up with a battle SE and we rock 20+buff we can heal/buff/recharge/DD/tank/nuke(well undead)/plinking with root and bow. hehe it a fun class to play. gl
Full Plate
+4 Str -4 Con
+4 Dex -4 Con
+4 Wit -4 Men
If you want a shield, get a Dagger with focus. I use a dagger with focus on my summoner. Its much better then dual swords or a weapon with health. Faster attack speed and lots of crits.
Should you decide to stick with dual swords, change the ones you have into the ones that offer focus SA.
I have been playing Prophet since Open Beta, and well.. not many real live Prophets left on Kain, since most are just boxed buffers now adays. I think im probably the only PP on Kain that is left from OB thats 60+ not subclassed / rerolled / quit. not sure.. but probably am.
I have allways been a fan of Heavy armor on Prophets.
I have recently gotten the +4dex -4 con tat. and its been nice since it effects, Run speed, Critical rate, attack speed, accuracy, evasion.
I used to use the sword + shield for awhile. its been alot better with the Bless shield buff. and its funny as heck to see the shield block message saying 1 damage, from an archer hehe.
But I have found that Duals are nice, recently aquired +4 Dual sls. I also got the DPA. not the whole set. (tbh the set bonus isnt worth -3str) since Prophets dont have much str to begin with.
Fully buffed + BD dances Fury / fire, and SE buff vamp rage. I do pretty well going toe to toe with several differant DD types. but, archers hurt alot, daggers not as bad, tanks are tougher to kill since stun lands more. But ive proven that in Selfbuff only fight, vs equal lvls. my Prophet does pretty well. tho those are hard to get heh.
Nukers still hurt which is anoying to get hit for 1K+ damage from lower lvl buffed nuker.. lower lvl archers dont seem to come close to nukers damage (with heavy armor) but dunno.. just know I hate nukers..
I plan to go Dual Kesh for A grade. just too expensive at this time.
My set up is probably not what everyone would suggest for B grade+ but it works for me so far.
BW tunic+4, stockings +3, BW helm+1, Boots+1, gloves+3.
Carrying Doom heavy in invo to swap to for fighting. (after buffing with BW robes on)
Dual SLS+4, Bop(clean right now) 3kBss, 600 Bbsps. 500 to 1k arrows.
-4con+4dex tat.
BO jewels (for now, majestic jewels are in the works)
I can root mobs or people and plink at them with the Bow or, can run in and **** and slash with swords.
Reason I went with this set up is rather simple. Money. for me this set-up was cheaper then trying tons of things only to reject em. Ive allways had a shoe string budget so I plan for multiple char useage into all my gear.
I use BoP on PR, and duals for when MP on her is low because no CS sa.
the doom will end up on the DA2Be down the road. Plus I got it rather cheap. about 3m off current Kain prices.
