Anyone done any type of test as to whether heavy or light armour is best for a dwarf.
As they have low dex their evasion, even with the light armour bonus, doesn't seem as if its going to high enough to be really effective.

I play a lvl 56 warsmith and tried light and heavy armor, heavy is much better by far. Don't even waste time with light. :)

As long as you're not tanking light is an option. I'm leveling my WS atm with Reinforced Leather. The set bonus adds STR. :)

S'pose you mean Plated Leather, Reinforced Leather increases mp.

</wishful thinking> :(
PS: Light if you group for DD bonus (well, BW heavy is nice for that too), heavy if you solo so you don't fold so easily.

Only a few levels you should consider light armor thats between 40 and 52, Go Plated Leather here, the damage increse is more then what hte p.def difference is.
Also at higher lv the light armor masteries add more P.def over time then what the heavy armor masteries do, it's about 50 P.def in the late end game with A grade armor. But thers also an 9 evasion bonus. But for PvE this really don't help much anyway PvP yes if your playing towards low lv melees.
In any event, soon al melees is gone in this game anyway, and you should go Light armor with +5% M.def :)

Not enough (read: none) pvp going on at 40-51 to justify that gawdawful look of Drake Leather.

Yeah for pvp I just use light for the additional M def. I use heavy for aoe group or if I am taking alot of damage. Light for additional stuns/spoils.
I have macros so I can switch between the tallum sets pretty fast. I try to stay in light to keep my mp up.
