Hey, I'm building an orc destroyer as an alt, still only level 16, and was wondering if I would benefit from getting +dex tattoo's. I wantedto build one, but have always been dsicouraged by how slow they are. Also if it was beneficial to put the tattoo's on, how would I go about doing. I've never done one before on any of my guys. Besides buying the dye I'm clueless. Thanks for the help =)
my brain hates chronological order so i jumped around a bit but here goes...tattoos 101. dont get tattoos until after the second class change (level 40) since anything you do before that point will be wiped after the completion of the class change. before lvl 40 you can ONLY use regular dyes, after lvl 40 you can ONLY use "greater" dyes, so dont waste your money on a +1/-1 dye that does not say "greater". dont apply a tattoo that wil cause your total stats to go below 170. that is, dont get a +1/-3 tattoo, its just, bad. also, as of C4 and since it will probably not change in C5, i should mention that you CANNOT increase your MEN stat as a fighter class (but mages CAN increase their CON which is dumb). that said, the orc fighter is a perfect template for tattoos, emaning that you can specify yourself to either STR or CON and kick some butt in melee fights. however, you cannot really make an orc with sepreme DEX because they just dont start out with any. a +4 DEX is good, it would add 4% to speed, crit rate and attack speed, and +2.27 evasion and accuracy (game rounds this to 2). however, a +3 dex would do basically the same thing (3% to speed, crit rate and attack speed) and i belive it would round up the +1.72 evasion and accuracy to +2 each. a +5 DEX may round up to +3 to accurracy and evasion if this is true. can someone verify this? inreasing your WIT is good for a destroyer since it seems to effect the speed of frenzy, guts, and bandage. its good to have a fast bandage skill esp if you tank in wall of argos withous a healer that has purify lvl 2+. Lets say you do get a DEX tattoo (you get 3 total and they can be removed/added that the symbol maker in any magic shop in any town). Then you have 2 spots left. a +4STR/-4CON increases your p att by 8% which makes a huge difference for any destroyer, with this tattoo and frenzy and anger, you can have over 11000 p att, depending on your weapon. the problem being that in a seige its just about inpossible to get frenzy on...either you are being targetted or your not, its jsut unlikely that the 9 people attacking you are just going to stop attacking you when you get down to 1/3 hp and switch targets. of course, you could always ahve a buddy hit you down to 1/3 hp, equip your bow, throw on battle roar, pop up on the wall to drop and couple enimies and then wait for frenzy to recharge to repeat. if instead you go +4CON/-4STR and health on your weapon you end up with over 15000 hp and maybe more depending on armor choice. of course, with the DEX tattoo that means -8 to either STR or CON so its a hard choice. best thing to do is to experiment in B grade with blue wolf and doom heavy armor sets. do you like to do damage or take damage? really it doesnt matter what you choose, either way is fun.
for more than you ever wanted to know, check out this: http://lineage.pmfun.com/list/stat
tattoos 102, since i forgot something...you CANNOT have more than +5 to any one stat from tattoos. armor can give you further increases in stats, and maybe in c5 weapon SAs might even change stats, who knows. but if you get two tattoos of +4STR/-4CON you will really end up with +5 STR and -8 CON which is bad. if you want to get to +5 in a stat either use a +4/-4 and a +1/-1 OR a +3/-3 and a +2/-2.
inreasing your WIT is good for a destroyer since it seems to effect the speed of frenzy, guts, and bandage.
These are physical skills that are affected by attack speed, hence +dex makes them go faster. Havent seen any increase with +wit. WIT is for cast speed = spells, and Destroyer has 0 spells so it has no meaning in that sense. Only reason to increase WIT is to get somewhat better protection from Sleep and other such things.
ty _Charmille_ once again for hunting down my posts to tell me im wrong ^^ you fail to meet expectations, however, since you forgot to comment on my mispellings :p
firstoff, i really wasnt sure if bandage was physical or magical but assumed it was magical becasue it does that little star thing under the toon in the animation which implies to me as a player that its sort of magicalish. B), i really wouldnt know because on my destroyer i got +4dex and +4wit at the same time. thirdly, to quote people fram that post: "This resource is pure percentages. It's not 100% accurate but it's still nice to have to help make your decision." [Epik]. and #5: the table does not come from in-game stats, but ratehr C1 rules. no one is going to waste their life away trying to get +5,+4,+3,+2,+1,-1,-2,-3,-4,-5 on EVERY stat, for EVERY race, for EVERY class, and take pictures in game to prove that they're accurate (then someone would say its not accurate for characters at extremely high levels). as you may have noticed, orc fighter has 40 STR, human fighter has 40 STR. even though they are the same, the STR bonus (which has a direct relationship to P. Att) is different. here the table is wrong, because it does not consider reacial benefits, only starting values. i assume it compares numbers using a best-fit curve of the STR bonus that basically does not work accurately for in-game results. what the table does do is say, "if i start with the number 40, and increase it to 44, and plug that into the formula for P. Att, what will be the difference in P. Att?" all of this is done without racial differences and passive skills and active skills and buffs that occur in the real game, and does not take into account the characters class. in this sense yes, it is completely useless (and since C1 the formula has changed so this table is even more useless). but if a player is looking for a general idea on what effects a change in DEX or STR or CON will have (without a 10-page explaination and a few row-eshelons after an inversion of the transpose of the inverse matrix [which may be just a transpose since it could be that the inverse of the transpose is the transposse of the inverse] to the power of the second derivitive) this table will help. mostly i think the STR and INT percentage changes were off from real game values, so just multiply an arbitrary 1.5 to these percentages to get something slightly more accurate. lastly, HP and MP are CLASS based, not RACE based, which was oddly enough not covered on the forum you mentioned (so a +4 con tat by itself cannot tell you what the HP difference will be).
and to continue...
tattoos for destroyer 201. ill post the tats i have on my destroyer and how they seem to effect my actual stats, hopefully _Charmille_ will do the same if shes not too shy about it. i have -4STR/+4DEX (to make my attack not so agonizingly slow with 2handed weapons) and -4INT/+4WIT (to make my uber spells super fast). also, i typically wear doom heavy, which means -3STR/+3CON for a grand total of 33 STR. i still find i can do damge since i have focus on my greatsword (sold my dragonslayer for Bgrade weapon enchants), but when i use frenzy+anger my damage is very noticably nerfed, since eash of these skills increases your P. Att by a percentage and not a simple number amount. note also that i still do the same damage with crush of doom, regardless of STR (only 99% sure of this). my HP is massive and thus i have more HP when i use low-hp skills, which allows for more erorr time if im not paying attention for a second. i am one of two tanks in my clan, and with VR i can go practiacally forver without a heal (high regen rate+frenzy+VR=self heal). if my clan had a DA or SK or even another destroyer, i may have gone +STR instead of +CON, but when i get the ancient adena i will probably go -11STR. also note that tattoos can be removed (i think you get 5 dyes back).
+4STR -4Con, 76 pattk increase unbuffed with Great Sword +3 and BW heavy(+7STR in total). Losing 420 HP and 294 CP unbuffed(from tattoos).
Frenzy lvl 3 is 200% pattk multiplier and Rage is 55% pattk multiplier, thus you notice a heavy nerf when you drop your initially high str by 7.
Crush of Doom is very slightly influenced by pattk so you wont notice much of a change in the dmg even if you drop str. A difference of 700 pattk only results in a difference of about 40-60dmg on a tank class so you can pretty much say that pattk is irrelevant for the skill, but it still affects the dmg.
STR setup can go nonstop with just VR, always staying at full health since the DPS and % of life leech is more than what the mobs deal in most places. Also, the high DPS gives you good tanking abilities as it tends to keep the aggro ;) And even with -Con you will still have massive HP, since we have high racial CON and Boost HP passives and all to help in that.
For exping purposes, Great Sword with Focus(and preferrably OE'd) is better than a Dragon Slayer since Focus increases the overall DPS more than the leap in pattk. Also it will be much cheaper to spam bss ;)
Current setup is +4STR -4CON, BW heavy, Dragon Slayer and going for Majestic heavy and additional +4DEX -4CON.
something else i thought of. one might assume that a +CON setup helps in PvP versus nukers, but mostly ive found i get owned anyways, and tough luck on trying to get your mdef over 700, even with A grade jewels at level 80 (im working on black ore set +7, and so far have only succeded in a couple +6, an endless supply of b grade crystals, and a lot of fustration). basically, dont ever expect to be able to take out a nuker the same level as you (i did it once at lvl 54, outside the arena, but i've been since convinced that it was a fluke).
