People please stop asking for buffs from prophets in heavy armor :mad:. I barely got 1000mp and I still have people come to me all the time asking for buffs all the time. What is so hard to understand? Prophets barely have enough mp to buff in robes. In heavy its just an annoyance. I have enough trouble buffing myself. If I buff someone else more than half of my mp is gone. I have to sit and recover while you go kill. Find a freekin SE to do it :D. Opinions?
And if you tell them that your in hvy armor and you cant buff, they get mad. Oh well. I come first, you second... So please dont ask any prophets for buffs when you see them in heavy armor. TY!
If you can't afford 2 sets of armor (robes/heavy), use robes. Problem solved.
Hello, Genius. How's this supposed to solve his problem of buffing and mp? If he switches to robes to buff his mp pool will still be short. The prophet is wearing heavy because he's most likely soloing and using robes while soloing makes the prophet nice and soft and squishy.

Soloing prophets are no walking vending-machines for buffs. People are just way too accomodated to buffbots to realize that it's a playable class which can do more than buff and sit for 20 minutes.
Let them get angry all they want, as they are probably morons. If they ask politely give them might shield haste or something. One doesn't always need full buffs to hunt.

Wrong - I carry shots Avadon - BW Heavy, Dual SLS, And a mana up staff, and extra stuff for my DA. You can switch. Carry robes Mana up / Conversion for buffing / and Heavy duals for Damage and soloing.
Buff in Robes first then switch and keep your mana buff on. And buff others first.

??? You carry this as a Battle Prophet? How much -CON do you have...any? Also, he said before how low MP he has so I assume he's lower level than 52. The lower level the gear, the heavier it is. Good Luck carrying Mithril robe set AND full brig set AND enough shot. Also at lvl 65, fully tatooed and carrying no extra gear (just heavy armor and duals). I can only carry 3000 BSS and 500 B Bsps and that doesn't last nearly as long as i'd like.
I'm not suggesting you do this, I don't think you should bring robes either. But if you're hunting with your wolf and you really wanted the robes set... put them on him.
Would you stop hunting - soloing, switch to other armour, wait 10+ minutes till you have enough mana and buff random "buffs pls" bypasser?

I know i can carry 2 sets of armor (dc robes and maj heavy) 4 to 5k Sss and my duels, and sov, then buff a party of 4 to 5 (my guild is small). but when ppl dont let you in parties because so and so has a buff bot out of party then making do soloing, its frustrating that they exect buffs. either want us or dont, but dont expect both
I'm lvl 48 so yea low mp most of the time. But what gets me is the fact that people expect you to buff them for free, and then run off and lvl while you sit and try to recover your mp. And theres no way in hell im gonna carry 2 sets of armors and so on, and then only carry 3000 ss. thats useless. In a buff round or two im out and have to go back to town. Plus when you switch from heavy to robe, you not only have to wait for the extra mana to fill up, but you lose your hvy set bonus (I have full plate). I can buff myself and every now and then heal, but I even carry heal pots. I can go for a long time if no one asks for buffs.
You must be blind not to see the difference between robe and heavy armor.
return2=no deaths. plus you dont have to have full mp when you switch to your robes for faster buffing. and basically if they dont want to pay for buffs you dont have to buff them.
Lol yeah, return2 isn't instant in heavy armor, and a well-placed stun from an enemy and/or a mob group could lay waste to a prophet easily. Or wait, not "could", more like "definately happens" ;)
Root is rather slow casting compared to sleep, a single mob is easy to handle but that's a non-issue. The issue occurs when you get literally mobbed, hit half a dozin or more times per second and get your return2 interupted... or all those roots you made wasted a few ticks too many of mana so there isn't enough for the return2 to fire.
And this in a totally lag-free environment, which is rather rare I think ^^
I'm currently 60% away from becoming a full plate level 40 Battle Prophet and I will not be carrying around any heavy armour and if people as for buffs I'll usually just say "I have no MP" or something like "Ola" and they usually just walk away it's pretty funny and works! If they keep buggin you just walk away I really don't think they are going to chase after you for buffs usually someone else is in town willing to buff for a rec anyways! :)
Funy is when they rec you and get mad because you refuse to buff them ... happens sometimes. I never asked for anything when I buff someone, never care about evaluation score, but some people think recommendation is like ticket to buff. And when they rec you, it's your duty to buff them. When I say "Sorry no time I have to run help clannie" and port away, they send angry PMs "But I rec you ..."
Haha, good luck with that. I started ignoring people though, but I don't really like to. This one guy last night came and asked for buffs. I ignored him for over 30 minutes :D, but the poor guy was sitting next to me and healing so when my mp was close to full I decided to buff him anyway. I just cant be mean to people unless they piss me off. On the other hand I was in branded the other night and this girl/guy/it asked for buff and I said I'm in hvy armor and I cant, so she/he/it decided to attack me, but she/he/it (said it 3 times :p) sucked and only did like 60something dmg to me, so she/he/it (4 times) ended up running after she/he/it (5 times) turned purple. Good times :cool:.
See exactly it works too some people thou don't even realize that your a buffer and if they ask for a buff you turn around and tell them your not a buffer LOL most of the time they wont question it b/c they aren't sure what to say heh! and if they do question you being or not being a buffer and ask why your using that stuff then you say "I was bored" LOL and they will leave ya alone it's not that I'm mean or anything I buff all the time and I don't care about rec's cuz I don't really need them! It's just so far from level 1-40 I've never had a problem with not buffing people and I've never had anyone get mad at me LOL So I guess I've just never been in your situation! Most people see me from level 20-40 in Mithril (banana suit) and either an SOL or Duals and they I guess think I'm a nuker so they don't expect buffs the only time I'm caught is if they see me buff someone in town or if they see me buff myself thats when I'm asked! But besides that I'm ok :) Hope it get's better for you b/c it's been an awesome experience for me as a healer now Prophet :) and I love every minute of it! The next thing I'm trying out is PVP with my Battle Prophet with a clan member (I root, he attacks) can't go wrong... unless they kill me first then gang up on him LOL oh well I will see how it goes :) Good luck & have fun thats all that matters!!!!
Root then sleep. Works much better. One of em has to land with bsps or so it does for me. And I pvped my prophet and won several times. Sleep or root, heal myself and attack again. It works against melee anyway, Mages and archers is a different story.
On topic though, it's easy to tell between a nuker and a buffer by the weapon they have. But I don't care about this anymore, as I will soon retire the prophet cause my lowbie chars I made last week are almost at 40. Give or take a week.
In conclusion STOP BEGGING FOR BUFFS, GET A FREEKIN PROPHET, EE, SE, ORC and BUFF YOURSELF. Dont expect people to buff you so you can lvl while they sit to recover mp unless your in party with them or will make a party while they rest. It is selfish and should not be accepted by any buffer.
If you are one of those selfish people, screw you and your melee/archer/mage :D. Thank you!
Ok first off, I am too well known on my server as a Prophet. (most good/live prophets tend to attract notice)
So saying im not a Prophet dont work. ignoreing them sometimes works, but not allways. I carry 2 sets of armor only because I can macro switch to robes, rebuff mself very fast, then back to fighting. or worst case toss on robes and hit return ;) (even got a macro that does that, its very fast too)
Currently I carry BW robe set, Doom plate(just armor dont want -3str)2-3kbss, 1kbbsps 500ish or so arrows, Dual sls, bop. plus about 20 GHPs or so depending on what I plan to do.
I would like to try tallum heavy set on Prophet but its just way to expensive hehe.
well onto the question of buffing people who ask, well, I say strieght up show me the money. heh. unless I know them, and like them ;P
I have -5con, +4dex +1str, might get another +4str-4con later but not untill im higher lvl.
thing I hate, is when people are sooo used to buffbot/dualboxed whatever non live PPs. get anoyed when they dont have every buff PPs can buff.. they wonder why.. and complain when they dont have X buff they feel they need.
case in point.. people other then healer / nuker begging for bts..

whats worse is, I have enough MP to buff 8people casting with just BW robes+3wit, and acumen, without recharges. (dont count myself cause I only buff acumen,ww,bts,btb,shield)

anything more then that on DD is extra buffs. for which I dont have MP for. (unless groups got over 3 mages)
beyond the buffing extra stuff with no MP, cause DD dont look at PP MP, they are to busy /assisting, or worse kiteing into agro mobs heh.
the thing I get most anoyed with, is people running outa buff range, or around corners as they are being buffed, also the DE/LE chars that run away full speed complaining about not haveing any buffs (you know who you are).
People just expect the "support" class to do its job, and not complain. but well.. I like grouping, but there are times I hate it.
everyone who has played Prophet from lvl1 to Higher lvls. knows how fun it can be in groups that go bad.. groups that have people who dont understand their own class, let alone anyone elses. one guy even said once "prophet isnt hard class to play, I played xxx for a few rounds dual boxed, and I could buff everything"... yeh, betcha it was on of them cookie cutter buffbots that have Cry staff MP up, or some other MP up type weapon, BW robes (if they are lucky) and sit outa party all the time.. Well. im here to say.. sitting all the time isnt what I want to do when I play this game.. its not fun to just sit (ok so sometimes it is when I have RL stuff to do :P ) but yeh it gets old fast when I would rather fight heh. I dont carry a weapon just cause it looks cool.. hehe.
Oh lastly to anyone that tells a PP how to play Prophet.. WITHOUT EVER PLAYING ONE YOURSELF.. dont expect to get help from a real Prophet.
Well said :) I just hit level 40 Battle Prophet and I'm very happy with the way I play her and she's my main so no matter who I see I usually buff them if they ask but besides that it's not like I go around looking to buff people lol
