What the hell is up with that ? Same thing happens to me. I am now afraid to teleport from town to town. And it also happens when I soe most of the time. The worst part is that you cant submit for a bug because the only option is to close the game. Nothing about bug submitting.
Is the login server still down or something? I havent been able to login since like 2est...It just sits at the login screen, doesnt say the password or what not is incorrect, just sits there. :(
The login server isn't down, its a router outside of NCSoft thats down. Blame Limeworks, not NCSoft.
Actually, I happen to be an IT expert (expert meaning I know what to do most of the time :o), and it's fairly obvious it's a router cutting people off, me included. But when a customer comes to you for service (game), you have to use a number of different resources (BackBones, ISPs, Routers, ets, etc) to make the service available to them. Now, YOU, the one that is offering this service (taking good money for it) ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBLE for the resources you use. You picked them, you take the money using them, YOU are responcible when they don't deliver. And the "YOU" here is none other then NCSoft. They are to blame. The only ones to blame.

So you're saying that NCSoft had to pick every ISP for every site that plays the game, plus all of the routes in between? Big job.
Uhm, NCSoft can't change how the internet traffic is routed out in the big wide world, thats well beyond their control or responsibility.
I am pretty sure they're working on contacting the company (as are other gaming companies having similar issues) and they will get it fixed.
I'm sure they do, but we're not talking about something they have no control over here. Things start to go "funny" when NCSoft changes something, there can be no other explanation for it. I don't think that someone, somewhere along the information highway gets up on morning and sais "lets cut them off for a few hours every night, that sounds like fun". Something's wrong with the picture here.
And I can tell you that I totally sympathize with the engineers over at NCSoft. Working (and most importantly planning and troubleshooting) with resources you do not "physicaly" own or control, can be a nightmare. And it usually is. But you can usually cut problems down by careful, very very careful planning and always, always by working in conjuction with the "road owners", meaning those that your customers have to go through to get to you. That's all I'm saying.
EDIT: Sir Elrohir, you posted as I was typing this post, so this post goes out to you too :p
Actually when you provide a service via Internet you have a bit of responsability in choosing your ISP or rather ISPs in this case because you can't obviously rely on a single ISP for a service like Lineage2.
That is you have to analyse the quality of the peering offered by that ISP.
See the Internet as a huge checkers. Choosing an ISP means you have an entry point in that grid. Let's say the entry point is in B3 = the square where your subnet is connected to the Internet.
Now after a while you realise that coming from the B3 square, the routes the packets of information have to take are made in a such a way that customers from H8 (another subnet) can't reach you. You have a peering (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peering) problem. Some people on a subnet other than your can't reach your subnet.
It's not your responsability to have the packets be routed between those two squares who are not under your authority. But it is your responsability to either add an ISP with a connection to another square (say G4) with better acces to H8 or have your ISP solve the problem for you by or switch your ISP.
(That is of course if all your DNS, routers, switches and firewalls are properly configured... But don't start me on NC and DNS management)
