This is a massively long post... Messy, but these are replies to individual user comments.
Might have better luck skimming or something... Or just ask a question/post a comment without reading--I don't mind re-stating what I say at all.

I'm not convinced that this will work the way the OP hopes, using the Bronze armor @200k example from above...
First vendor put bronze armor at 200k, in the example aboce the second put it at 75k and the system allowed the buyer to find the lower price.
However, under the proposed system, the 2nd seller would be able to spot the 200k first vendor. Rather than underprice at 75k, they would know the next lowest price was 200k and they would price their Bronze Set, perhaps, at 190k. The buyer would find the 190k one and think they saved 10k. Actually, under the old system where the 2nd seller did not have the patience to shop, the buyer could have saved 125k...IF they had the patience to shop around.
Therefore, I submit that this 'new' system would be used by sellers to standardize prices at a HIGH range (we know who many sellers are, right?) and would thus, unintentionally, result in the absence of bargins...the bargins which the patient players use to equip themselves and make a profit on reselling.
Sadly, I think that this would make prices higher and the situation worse, not better.
That is also a good arguement, and a rather clever point.
I would agree that the situation could go either way...
However, the first people to use this feature will be those who are out to do something good--no farmers will think of doing this until absolutely forced, no scammers will think of it.
Scammers/overpricers and farmers will be the last to use this feature--they like making money the way they do, and are unlikely to even notice a change since this would have to be small scale.
Even if many people won't use it, some still can--for example, someone said they'd try it earlier in the thread. Alright, he/she can use it and I can aswell. It won't hurt anyone who doesn't want to use it (no, the yellow will not burn your eyes), and for those of us who do it'll simply be a touch of convenience.
No farmer or scammer is going to log on and say, "Oh, I think I want to spend time trying to figure out how the heck I do the yellow thing just so I can target an audience who has to volunteer to read what i say...?"
They're FORCING. They spam and spam to force your eyes do read what they want you to as best they can. They cram into the places where you HAVE to go buy so that you, whether wanting to or not, will read it.

basicaly people love the way the system works now, cuz they can spend all day in town making money. Ripping off people who arent patient.
Yes, but unfortunately so there are impatient people who still deserve good service, or patient people who deserve a break from half an hour of Giran-trolling...
Im sure patients should be rewarded, but I don't think keeping the market so un-user friendly and vague is what we should be aiming for. The market and the mechanics that support it should be made at least a little easier.
I would agree--however, note that for just a little bit more difficult of a task for buying/selling, you're weeding out the lazy people (those most prone to scamming because they won't work for their money).

I like the current system and I've never ripped anyone off. That said, I don't always know what things are worth and will setup a shop with, what I feel, is an outragiously high price. If it sells, it sells. If not, I lower it. I have probably overpriced an item or two and have probably grossly underpriced quite a bit more.
Yes! ^_^ A lot of us do this... Honest players make good market deals for everyone. It can stay that way--honest players can use this as a good method to help other players meet and find other trustworty, good, nice, and honestly geniune dealmakers.

I've seen people with the "Looking for Party" tag above their head while they were selling and I always just assumed that they were selling to pass the time while waiting for a party. I've never once checked the party matcher to see if they were selling something and I betcha 95% of the players out there haven't either.
Yet another good point... That's what I'm saying, though. No one uses this--not even for party. The "Looking for Party" tag may be misleading, I agree (if only you could turn it off)... But even then, that helped you sort a bit. You assumed that the people sitting must not be bots, or farmers--why would bots be looking for a party, or why would farmers ever be anything but AFK?
Like right now, DC shields on my server can go from anywhere between 2 mil and 12 mil. I like to think the 12 mil sellers are just scamming, since the price used to be 1.2 mil, they just added an extra zero, but at this point, there are as many players selling for 10 mil - 12 mil as there are players selling for 2 mil. Is it a rare item? No way. Does it need to cost 12 mil? Absolutely not. But some people started scamming, then when other people checked the prices they saw a bunch of 12 mils around and they thought that was actually the price, so now we see DC shields all over the place for 10 mil. Stupid, no?
I see what you mean, but when players didn't buy the item (there will be a transit time before all prices are expensive) the higher ups would be forced to lower, first. Think about it--there will be a time where users will see both too low and too high prices... Will it collapse to low prices fast enough, or soar to high first?
"Really, this method could go either way. Force players to lower their prices OR cause players to raise them."

HIeverybody
imo anybody who uses partymatching for wtb/wts should get a 72 hour ban. ty
Rather sorry you feel that way... Thanks for replying to my topic at least, though. All input is welcome.
/partymatching is designed for a specific function... using it to buy/sell is an exploit and therefore all who use it should be banned.
Not at all. It isn't exploiting it--it's making up for something in which NCSoft may lack. NCSoft won't ban if users find their own satisfaction in using a feature that they created, even if it's in a different way...
Very rarely it's used for a specific function, but isn't user-friendly enough for that specific function--if people can make use of it, why not?
NCSoft spent time on making that function instead of fixing other bugs.
So what's better: getting a function you can use instead of getting critical bugs fixed, or getting a funciton that no one uses and everyone hates ASWELL as having no critical bugs fixed?
Besides... all it is is an auction house, but you can't directly buy the item. It's a bad idea no matter how you look at it.
Oh really? Lol. ^^ Auction house is even more un-user friendly, also bugged and hard to read. I'm not saying this is the best... But it's not a bad improvement
