Rift?

Today I hunted the Rift for the first time, and fought the boss in it. What is the rift for? The boss did not drop anything either just 10~20 minutes of fighting.

The biggest thing I saw there today is how gimp "hate" is now.
The boss has chances to drop some very **** items at all levels - maybe your party was too high level for that particular rift, and that's why you didn't get rewards.

The basic point of rifts is to get great spoils (there's hardly any point in going into an equal-level rift unless you're hiding from an enemy and want to get some experience where PvP can't happen), the easy AoE pulls and so on.

If you have enough fragments on everyone, you can also purposefully try for the boss by using the wild card I think. :p
The boss is just like any other boss. He has a chance to drop some good stuff, but doesn't do so every time. And, as mentioned, the rift is good for some decent xp, and spoils are really nice in there (at least in the 70+...I haven't tried the others).
And it's a lot of fun, on top of that! :D
Yes, that too. Very fast paced.
How many people does it take minimum to do the rift?

I'd really like to go there sometime.
We do it comfortably with a full group - but we were in trouble when too many of us were low level. I'd say six or seven if you're even level to the rift, full group if you're lower.
There are a couple of rooms that can get hairy without some good crowd control. One of the rooms has x6 HP mobs, and another room has self-detonating mobs that really hurt robe wearers. The average level in our parties for the level 70's rift is just under 70 and we do ok. We always take a full party.
Dont forget to take with an SpS or an Sorc, Sleeping Cloud is necessary to be 100% safe and dont loose your precious dimension frags by qyiting rooms when the HP hits the ground

QFT. The rift run we did with only summoners and healers as sleep-capable classes was doable (even with those horrid AoE nuke mobs), but very, very dangerous. >.<

I'd never do it without sleeping cloud and/or an AoE group again. :p

What lvl Rift was it and how crappy was your tank ????
Hate works just fine in Raid as long as some dumb Archer or melee dosn't go and get the first hit and crit and then not even have the common sense to STOP ATTACKING AND THE THE TANK GET THE AGGRO .... >.>

I went into the 70+ rift with a group led by a 75 SK. We drew the raid boss and did all right until near then end. I guess my level 73 golem ****** it off, and it took a coupel of mnutes for the SK to regain agro. With the healers and SK running low on many, I was glad I had plenty of heal pots.

Why is the level 70+ raid boss green to my level 73 toon. I assume we got no drops because I did too much damage.
I think green mobs give same drops as white mobs since C3...

Should be the same for raids I would think...
Raid ought to start being penalised if the main DD is four or more levels above it.

I think that is right, and if it is green to me, I may be 4 levels above it. Does green mean it is at least 3 levels below me? Dont remember.

So why would NCSoft put a raid boss in the rift, at a level where you probably wont get any drops. Our clan groups generally range from 60-75, so the 70+ would seem to be the right level for us.
It's up to your group to choose the right rift - I can go through the 60+ rift with my level 50+ PuG without healers, but I'd greatly prefer to stay in the 50 one.

In the end, if the majority of your group is over halfway on the level span, you should probably go to the next rift.

And as the dwarf, were you really the main DD? XD
The Rifts are great fun places for Overlords. I actually get to do lots of my debuffs, and aoe root rocks in there too. :) Rift runs make my Overlord very happy. :)

Yah, and it's light blue to a level 75. IMO the 70+ rift boss should be green to a 75. We need to do the Hero rift to expect any drops from the RB. But that's okay. I just think it should be green in the 70+..
