Right now, Im grinding hard, putting a lot of time and effort into my BH. My ultimate goal is having a subclass and reaching nobless status.
I realise this will take a lot of time to accomplish that.
Thats no problem if L2 has a long lifetime ,but if L3 comes out, It migth be the beginning of the end for L2. And when im finally a noble, everyone will be on the L3 servers :(
End of 2007 as already been mentioned in NCKR's investors documents for L3's debuts which development should already have begun if I remember well (or was it Q3 2006 for dev ? not sure)
But remember that L1 still has a player base and 2 NA servers.
Have to admit though...I'm VERY interested in watching the introduction to C3 in person for the first time.
I tend to play a lot...I'll be curious to see how quickly everyone else progresses from the same shotgun start!
I have a negative feeling in my mind suggesting that 5 days into the new game I'm going to see the following on my server:
2 uber alliances with forty 70+ toons each (an absolute impossibility).
Players claiming to have 400 million adena in WH (also an absolute impossibility).
A LOT of toons running around me wearing A grade gear!
I've started 7 toons in the past 5 months. It is NOT POSSIBLE in 5 days to be anywhere near level 70, to have even 20 million adena in a WH, or to be wearing A grade gear.
That has me curious I have to say..............
Anyone who plays this game to earn rewards in game has my very real respect!

Most games erase everything and start fresh when the game goes retail.
L2 did not. IMO it was a mistake, they should have started everyone on a level playing field.
It's alot of fun when a game starts fresh, I've done it several times, and it's a blast when everyone is a noob.
You should have seen what it was like when there were hundreds of people streaming in and out of DE Village, and all the other noob zones. It was a blast!
As long as you're still having fun you might as well just play it out, I mean that's ultimately the point of it all, isn't it?
Besides, I don't think l2 will go away too soon [kind of like this LAG I'VE HAD ON BARTZ FOR A MONTH! but that's another matter].
Anyway, even if L3 does come out, I'm sure ppl still still play L2 the same way people still play Lineage 1, Counter Strike 1.6, and Condition Zero rather than Source. The same way people still play WC3 ROC instead of TFT.
As long as NCSoft continues to maintain the servers I'm sure there will always be people there [or the other way around...who knows].

... ok this might be a bit much in the department of what L3 will look like.. but i think very much it's obtainable with the unreal 3 engine that is being used.
I just wish epic would release some more screenshots that are more recent.... high quality ones.... getting tired at looking at stuff that's 2 years old... they've made HUGE improvements since...

Yea i have seen this on CGtalk too and its alitle to much.. But lineage3 will look nothing more then GREAT.
The koreans are a skilled bunch of artist. i am still amazed on what quality that they can make with the U2 engine and still make it playble.
Btw has there been any images from L3 at this point? Concept art? something? :p
There was a wipe between the closed and the open beta.
There was no wipe between the open beta and prelude. I'd not have played the open beta if it had been to be wiped again.
Wow I remember that. One of the worst things ever. The exploiting on all the free accounts was absolutley insane ... and sadly set the tone for the rest of the game.
from my understanding L3 wont be relaesed (game wise) till all the chronicles of L2 are out the reports may be released next year but we probably wont see it in the us for some time yet and by then alot of us may quit the game or go to a different game who knows

I wonder if we'll have server transfers in L3... Or maybe more... game transfers... port your L1 or L2 toon to L3. Lmao it would be insanely great.
I am learning to fear anything that the NA branch of NCSoft have their fingers in. ;)
Lineage2 is the first NCSoft title that I have played and it will probably be the last due to the multitude of problems that exist with the support of this game.
TJ Kim said in an interview that development for L3 would take 2.5-3 years and that they were first starting to meet in Q1 2006 (he said this in Q4 2005).
I am sure that L3 won't just be L2 with prettier graphics, it will probably be a totally different kind of game.
I don't know if this has anything to do with L3 or not, but I will add it to the mix....
The during the first weekend of April, there was a little comic convention here in Seattle. I had a table in the Artists Alley to sell my stuff. I decided to take a break and stretch my legs and wandered down to where Adam Hughes was sitting, drawing fan art for some people and checking out art from other artists. There was this guy who had some pretty **** cool fantasy and sci-fi artwork that he was showing to Mr. Hughes. The guy was talking about how he got recently hired by a company in California to do character designs for some new game. I asked him what company and he replied with "NCSoft".
"Oh, sweet! What game, do you know?" I asked.
"Not yet, but they liked my fantasy art," he replied.
"Maybe Lineage 3?"
"Dunno"
I think I had heard maybe that L3 was going to have a lot more western influence from some threads. Also, remember in "Grandma's Boy" (bad movie, but funny as hell) there was a scene where "Play Lineage 3" was written on a "too do list" on an erasable board in a game testers cubicle.
I am not sure I'd like L3 to have more western influence, after all its something that sets it apart. There are far too many "western midievel" fantasy MMORPGs out there already with good graphics.
A stronger western presense however would be good however.

I assume you have never dealt with much customer service elsewhere, it's TERRIBLE in any medium, any company, any country, EVERYWHERE. If thats the only reason you dislike L2 then I congratulate you, but if thats your reason to abandon the gaming company's future works, which will probably be revolutionary, then you are messed up in the head.
