The question arises because I'm deciding which works better, half-plate vs Brigandine. The brig has +hp but the hp has +pdef but then I got sidetracked into thinking, how much damage does 1 pdef stop? It can't be a straight 1 to 1 conversion, so how is it calculated? I guess the same thing could be asked of Mdef ^^
Supposedly
1 patk is 1 damage on 70 pdef.
2 patk is 2 damage on 70 pdef.
2 patk is 1 damage on 140 pdef.
Basically, the formula for damage is patk*70/pdef.
Supposedly.
For basic goings-on, pdef is always more useful than having more HP because more HP means nothing once it is gone. You don't regen any faster or anything just because you have more HP. You only need enough HP to survive 1 or a few monsters.
well, i tend to think a lil differently; more hp for pvp. yes, the nubz fight each other. it happens a lot.
for pve, hp is great too. depending on your class, bring a shield.
but HalfPlate is not worth it imo. sure you wont look the same as every other melee sub 40, but it so hard to resell, its unbelieveable.
i myself go for this approach when making new alts of the melee persuasion; +3 everything.
buy at +0, hunt the golems outside dion for ead, break a few chasts, for ead's, raid for 'em, w/e. just + your brig. it resells for much higher profit too ;)
come c5 if you +6 the whole set of anything, u get added bonuses.
