I want to trade my +5 CG Duals Raids*Spirits c/w Focus for a +5 Ghoul Staff c/w Mana Up! Is it worth it? or are my duals worth more then the staff or what? I'm currently a level 41 Prophet and I was using the duals if I wanted to solo but now I next to never solo cuz I'm always with my clan so should I trade in my duals for that staff and is it worth it?
Im currently using the Divine +3 set which is awesome it has given me a huge MP boost right up to 1463mp which is awesome and I was just thinking thats good but if a Ghoul Staff w/ Mana Up will give me even more MP then I might as well try and go for it heh But would I actually maybe be able to get that trade or sell those duals for as much as that staff goes for?
Instead of the ghoul staff, you'll be much better off with a soulfire dirk which allows you to use only two BSpS for every heal and wear a shield - also note that duals are a lot easier to sell than a staff with mana up (since that's an SA mostly favoured by classes that don't need MAtk, thus people aren't so bothered about actually getting it with an SA, which makes a significant chunk of the price).
Try to probe for the market value of your duals with a few !WTS shouts (it may be mean to shout without intending to sell, but there's no better way of doing a pricecheck), then change them into focus duals and sell them slightly over price.
The money should be more than sufficient to acquire an SF dirk +3 and pay for the gemstones to have its SA applied - simply have a clannie do the crystal for you.
Conversion is something that reduces your max HP in order to increase your max MP more - but that's only really an option at higher levels if your groups are risky and you're in robes. Also remember that Mana Up and Conversion don't multiply but stack with BtS and higher level robe bonuses, so they simply seem weak in comparison later on. :)
My Duals are currenly Focus Duals already Raid*Spirits and the Dagger is a good idea it move's fast I just wondering how I go about quickly to get the SA on it and which SA would I want? And if I get a shield what Shield am I looking for the FP?
FP is the top, but any shield makes a noticable improvement when drawing aggro from archer mobs.
The soulfire dirk is a dagger - you need to buy a bunch of C Grade gems and get a soul crystal (which a clannie can level for you, you need a stage 6 blue IIRC, but I'll check that when I get home), then take it to a blacksmith to have the SA applied.
Mana Up. The soulfire dirk is a mage weapon. :p I recommended it based on the fact that what you were looking for was a mana up weapon - I don't know enough about the parties you are in to make a suggestion in regards to whether or not mana up is a good idea.
Ok what if I wanted to try PVPing with my Prophet do you think it's possible? Even if I had a clan memeber ot help me out and what weapon would I go with? I was thinking in terms of buffing, rooting and then using a bow?
If your playstyle is to be a "Battle Prophet" then just keep the duals. The only way you are going to do any damage at all , which will still be marginal at best, is to sacrifice your Con/HP for Str...
Personally , in that situation,I believe in using a very OE'd bow...root-n-shoot.
My prophet is a total buffer. She is lvl 53 now...uses a C grade conversion weapon (+60% MP -40% HP) which gives a LOT more MP than a mana up weapon.
I put a +4Con -4Str tat to boost her HP thus boosting her mana with conversion. Also a +4 Men-4Wit tat to boost MP. She wears BW robes which counters the loss of Wit by the tat.
I'm keeping my duals for when I'm in a group I'm going to just be focused on buffing and healing or my clannie's would attack me themselves if I let them die LOL but I was wondering for pvp like in the arena and stuff the affect a bow would be on a Prophet?
the effect will be....you'll piss people off LOL....you root them and clink away till you root again....then eventually you can win LOL....you dont hit for much, but over time you'll do the deed LOL That is unless they have a friend gank you, or they are a ranged attack or a summoner :p
Since you are 40 you'll be wanting an Emi bow with Cheap Shot SA
Try to probe for the market value of your duals with a few !WTS shouts (it may be mean to shout without intending to sell, but there's no better way of doing a pricecheck), then change them into focus duals and sell them slightly over price.
No no, make a macro with !WTS MY STUFF SUPER CHEAP!!!11!1, spam it at least 10 times in a row wherever you go, and then overprice at least 2 million. Just like everyone else does. (except me, because I'm stupid and refuse to trade in shout but rather use trade channel and only advertise maybe once an hour)
Imo a mana up wepon is of limited use to a prophet. I would suggest you keep the duals, and switch to heavy armor. Tats +4str -4con, +4dex -4con. In this setup, you'll be dishing out some respectable damage, and on a duo or trio with dd's exp will be godly.
Except she has specified that she is usually in clan parties, which very likely means a need for a mana up weapon at least until BtS comes up to a decent level.
Anticipate anticipate anticipate. The C5 prophet gains mana burn. Which will totally change your pvp style. Mana burn, erase, and heals. You will be casting through pvp, not smacking. "duals" on a prophet will never kill anyone unless it's a 1v1. Large scale pvp you will have to face that you are a nuker swinging a sword, your str/dex is too low. Instead you buff/debuff, remove nuker mana, heal, and destroy summons. You won't get kill shots, but instead jump from target to target reducing the enemy mp, especially nukers. If you want to pvp, get a shield, get heavy armor, and get a combination weapon.
What does this mean? Carry two weapons. Have a mana up SA weapon (it doesnt matter what grade go for cheap as you can find) and have the strongest matk acumen weapon you can find.
In the mean time, for current pvp, spam root on people. It will break mental aegis from time to time. Do this and heal. Prophets are not killers but support. No army can survive without well played support classes. They are the toughest to play and most essential in pvp.
For my prophet, I hated it, but I still have it, the good old Crystal staff with mana up. I Normally do not use it, because I do like to do damage and be part of the fight, but in a party of 9, It is hard to buff everyone, so that is when I pull it out. Otherwise I am in sword and shield. Crystal Staffs are cheap, so you may be able to get one, we have two taking up space in our clan warehouse that no one is using. Ask around your clan, maybe someone has one laying around too. :)
