The Public Test Server will be down for maintenance today, April 25, at 5:00 PM CDT for approximately two hours. During this maintenance period, the following changes will be made:

Miscellaneous

* Players can no longer teleport to Ivory Tower during the Oren Castle siege.
* Players can no longer teleport to Hardin’s Academy during the Giran Castle siege.

:/ As if it wasn't bothersome enough right now...
why dont they just add you cant telport to saints at th inndreal seige and make it not worth while pvping any more! >.<

it isnt.
Ok, can still port to Northern EV from HV and run to Oren Castle, Still can port to Martyrs from Goddard and run there. Not really an issue.
they really need to either turn all gk off or turn all gk on.
I don't want to go to the siege, that's the thing. I just want to travel decently normally while some people siege, and I can't. It actually interferes with my everyday grinding more than random PKs or griefing. >.<
Ok, so what I said still applies, if you need to get into Giran and you are in Aden, TP to BS, run north past the gate and SoE to goddard and port to Martyrs and SoE into Giran. If you are in Giran and need to get to Aden with Aden under seige, or to Oren under seige, TP to northern HV and run north or west, depending on where you need to be. This doesnt change a whole heck of a lot.
No, it doesn't change a whole heck of a lot - but why make sieges more of a bother than they already are?

because if the siegers could teleport to town then flags would be less important changing the way that sieges play out... I don't know if people should be able to spawn to the nearest town or not... for castle like inadril and giran that wouldn't hurt much... but for all the others the castle is right next to town and a flags would be close to pointless.
I've always thought that the flags are really key to winning the siege no matter what castle you're attacking, like you say though, they are absolutely critical at some of the castles. (Inn/Giran)

The big thing that this change affects is the impact that non-signed up clans can have on a siege.

Then just make it so that those registered to attack can't use gatekeepers at all. Everyone else can port to their heart's content.
Now THAT I like, SirE.
That doesn't handle unregistered attackers - I'd prefer something like a token of pacifism so the GK will let me go through during sieges, but I will suffer instant full death exp when entering a siege field. xD

You'd just end up with a huge force of unregistered attackers and one clan signed up with the sole purpose of engraving.

And they'd save a ton of money on flags. Win-win.

Unless you happen to be defending. ;)

Yeah but castle owners are jerks so the more turn-over the better. :p
Yeah you should be able to port during a siege if you aren't signed up... some how.. lol. Not sure how that would work. But it always seemed silly you could EASILY get back to Giran during a siege (I've been in clans that owned Giran) or take an easy run from Ivory tower with a mass of people (owned Oren too) and not even be that inconvenienced by NOT having a flag.
They could make it so that those who have not signed up either cannot participate in the siege or get penalties when sieging (apart from the no flag part).

Then make the gatekeepers freely accessiable for anyone not signed up during the siege, and completely disable nearby gatekeepers for those signed up, or even better...all of the gatekeepers. (might make people think twice about fake sign ups and going XPing instead)
I wonder how hard it would be to code that everyone who's not actually signed up to participate would get heavy movement speed penalties...

I like the way that you have to post a daft remark when you have no reasoned response left. ++++++Postcount huh? ;)

I posted in another thread why I think most of them are *******es. No need repeating myself again. Also, sorry your sense of humor is in the shop.

Like I give a 923.

Also, sorry your sense of humor is in the shop.

To test my sense of humour you would first need to post something amusing. ;)

here is an idea... people signed to defend/sige can't use gk. And if you are unregistered for the siege and enter the siege zone you are instantly debuffed with "Curse of the Siege Gods." This curse lasts 2 hours and can not be cancled or died off. The curse prevents the cursed player from using any gk.

but then again... I don't like gk anyway... so for 4 nonconsecutive hours every other week all gk should be turned off for everybody.
I like the idea of making it impossible for people not signed up for the siege to enter the siege fields. Just teleport them off the field and back to the nearest town if they try to enter the siege field. Yeah, it would prevent level 3- clans from assisting in offense and defense, but that's a fair trade because sieges were meant to be enjoyed by Level 4 and 5 clans.

This way, it prevents the unsigned zerg mentioned above, but allows gatekeepers to function normally, even during siege.

Yes... right. Why not just do that?

Everyone says that if you don't like a castle owner, then overthrow him. Why exclude the "unwashed masses" from assisting a siege?

Well.. actually, now that I think of it... you're right... And to take it further, why do Clans have to sign on for sieges anyway? what's the point? Why not have it that, the ones holding the castle set up a time (so they can be there) and anyone wanting to take them on just shows up and... well... takes them on :)
cause if they are european they can set the time to a time that is best for them being 4 am for NA where their opposition would not be able to muster enough forces to take them down.

there should be a barrier around the siege grounds just like sea of spores and no one can cross it unless they are activally in a siege.
as for the unsigned up masses... they should sign up cause they would be more effictive that way rather than not be signed up.

Fine, then don't have clan restrictions on sign ups and let individuals sign up.
sirE you're the best. 923 you ^^
best swear ever.
(noob note: in C1 i think, 923 was a disconnect command of some sort, so if you wanted to sell 923 animal skins in giran, poof, dc. they changed it at some point so that 923 shows up like this -.- problem solved)
on topic: on dev recently, a clan had oren castle and the clan disbanded so they could reorganize with a new leader. since all the members of the clan had to wait to get back into the clan they couldnt sign up that weekend. what are you gonna do, tell the people that faught for and took the castle that they couldnt show up to help their ally take the castle back from NPCs?? btw i helped this clan in their seige, 4 unclanned people in their 60s against two attacking alliances. we owened all the enemy flags, and really i had MORE fun and died MORE times being there unclanned than than i have ever had in any other clanned seige i have been in.

its 4 hours every 2 weeks !! stop complaining !

That would be wonderful, but we aren't gonna see it.

To be honest, you CAN sign up as an individual if you create your own 1-person clan. But that kinda precludes you from joining another clan doesn't it? I guess you could join as an alliance clan though haha. Think of the possibilities--the "One4ALL" alliance. Two hundred one-person clans allied. A castle owner would drop a load in his pants the first time he saw those guys signup.
