Prophet with a Bow?

I was thinking about what weapon to use with my Prophet I like healing and buffing people but sometimes I also want to do some damage and I don't really want to get to close I currently have Duals with Focus but that means I have to get up close and fight! So I'm not so concerned about my mp it's currently over 1400 and I was thinking since I've got root why not get a bow with an SA that would benefit my Prophet maybe? Can someone please tell me if this idea might work? I also wanted a bow if I decided to team up with one of my clannie's and pvp ;) and what does the red, blue or green SA mean? Thank you

For a short PvP a bow is fun...but it also uses a lot of mana...even with Cheap Shot. But it is a fun option for sure :p

Well I thought it was a good idea for a Prophet to use in pvp in the arena because it's a short fight either you live or die and I wont go threw my mp that quickly b/c either I'll be alive or dead LOL and if I am to get a bow for my Prophet what would you think is the best to get?

If you have no problem with mp you should go for a bow. I used BOP w/CS on my prophet, and i managed to deal a little damage on my own. Had some down time for mp regen though.

Seen a few prophets using polearm since they can root and attack the person or mob from a distance with it.

Using dual swords you need to get close and you get hit when you do.

Exactly thats why I was thinking bow but what SA should I get on it if any?

I use a BOP w/CS on my Prophet and love it! It actually does a good amount of damage (haha surprised a near 70 SH friend taking most of his CP in one hit today Oo). For parties, it's perfect, I can keep my distance from mobs that stun in case I'm needed for backup heals and contribute to the damage and not just sit :eek: It also works great with root for soloing :)

I also carry a Homu with Conversion (lol and listen to the healer's scream when I put on my bow and my hp drops to almost half :eek: )

It really is the best set up I have had, Ive been using it for a few months and would not switch for anything. I am working on crafting a Carnage Bow which can get the Mana Up SA which would relieve me of having to carry 2 weapons and 2 types of SS/BSPS which is a burden when you have to carry arrows too. I'm going to be getting a Con tatoo to help that.

It's a Bow of Peril (Top B) with Cheap Shot Special Ability.

Ok cool thanks I'm not at BG yet heh so I wasn't sure what that was! So I've figured out that I need 8 blue soul crystals & some c gemstones and then money basically I've got the money I just need the other stuff do you now if people usually sell the cystals & gemstones and stuff in town? like if I went looking in Giran?

Gemstones C Grade are normally available in the Grocery or Magic shop under the tab "Consumables".

Soul Crystals are practically always available from private shops in Giran. No matter what lvl.

A bow may be good for PvP and for grouping (only if you're not main buffer)... but it'll suck for soloing. I tried using a bow for a while and the MP drain is just too much. I didn't have cheap shot so that may make the difference but I'd never get a bow [again] unless it was for PvP only.

Oh yea, I think you meant to say that you needed a Stage 8 Blue soul crystal... not 8 blue soul crystals. If you're on Sieghardt I can help you. I've got a couple for sale.

Yes Cheap Shot makes a world of difference on the mana :) I can solo the mobs in FG easily with the BOP. I still like the distance you get with the bow and root, those Doom Knights love to stun ya especially when they are down to one hit lol

Exactly but I also want the bow to try pvping a bit with my clan LOL B/C I know the bow does decent damage more then anything else I can think my prophet can use my buff's then my SA c/w CS on it and then hopefully I root or sleep then root away and I was told I might be able to do kill someone b/c the nukers in the group said that bows interupt the casting sometimes so I could get lucky LOL or it could be close hehe

Just remember to hit targets from their behind if possible, your accuracy will be rather low so the boost from behind often means the difference of pleasure and pain.. pve and pvp likewise ^^

would quick recovery SA or Mana up SA any good for a healer class player? I have quick recovery and can kill mobs faster but do need to reast more, was thinking about mana up will that 30% extra mp make it better then Cheap shot SA? Since CS only work like 1out of 5 time right?

That's what the details say, and I originally decided to not go to the expense of the CS SA. But then I got an EMI w/CS for my SR. I never use up mana... well, except with the haste buffs it goes down a bit, or when being overweight or using skills. So you are good to get the CS Sa. Worth it.
