They are in the Ant's nest and you don't have to kill just the soliders kill anythign in here the patrollers and captains you will still get the things you need if your doing the second class change for Prophet or Bishop :)
Incidentally--there IS an answer to your question about soldier location.
Walk down into ant nest......turn L at first intersection with pond...walk down short hall and make first R...you will go through a very short hall and enter a room with 3 halls exiting it.
The middle of the 3 exit halls (2 will be left and 1 in front of you) from that room GENERALLY has ant soldiers in it--though if they were just killed you'll just see guards.
Unless you're a tough cookie or protected by pals--don't hit soldiers there or 12 guards will jump you too!
Since soldiers aggro...get 1 or 2 to chase you back to the room you just left...it is often completely empty.
But others are right--after I waited and waited for soldiers to respawn I finally smacked ant captains and still got quest items.
There are also two ant soldiers that spawn in the wastelands near the fallen statue outside of the ant's nest. Just in case you don't want to venture down inside to get them.

Did the ant part of this quest last night and I friggin' hate the ant nest.
I hated it as well since the quest tells you to go to the waste lands and basically your running around trying to find them but ya can't :( so people tell you to go to the Ant's Nest and it took me forever to find the enterance into the net b/c I can't in the world use the map heh and then I get in and found only one soldier I guess I was bored so I hit the captain and realized that I can get the quest with them :) Don't worry the quests I found do get easier! In my opinion they do they just cost a lot of money and a lot of teleporting heh! Good Luck!!!
There are three entrances to the Ant Nest. The Wasteland has many formations with spires on top which have 'balls' on them. The three entrances are marked by spires which have nine balls on them.

Nope. Just saying I don't need it. I've completed 4 second-class change quests, almost exclusively solo. This is my 5th one (my 6th will be shortly after this). A few ants aren't a problem.
