I'm at level 5 playing as an Orc, just trying a quest for the first time. and I'm supposed to find some graves in Heroes Valley and kill some goblins. How do I find the graves? The maps don't seem very helpful, or maybe I just don't know how to use them.
I am fairly new to the game, 1 month and 1 day to be percise. I learn quickly though. So I want to help you the best that I can, as others helped me get the basics down.
So you are level 5 and have taken a mission, correct? Now you want to do that mission and get whatever reward for it. There are 2 windows when doing missions that I will frequently reference while on a mission solo. Those 2 are the MAP, and Quest Log. To get the map up, you can click the hotkey at the bottom right of your screen or by using the keyboard with ALT - M. For the Quest window, I think its ALT -Q, I use ALT -C and then click the quest tab (on the ALT - C window, its the far right tab).
Now, using the Quest window, select the quest. When you have selected the quest, open your MAP. On the botton of your MAP window is 3 buttons, PARTY LOCATION, TARGET LOCATION, YOUR LOCATION. Click on the TARGET LOCATION, the MAP will change with a "blinky pin" marking where the mob(s) are for the Quest you selected. Then find out where you are and start going in that direction.
You will have to be close to the area where the marker is. I found the closer that I was to marker, the greater chance of quest pieces dropped.
Hero's Valley is just under the town, the Goblin Grave Robbers are over there.
There is also a quest for the imps and wolves over there which should be quite helpful for your adena supply ;) You might wanna rinse and repeat those quests a bit before you go higher...maybe you find some useful NG drops over there.
And as a last thing, welcome to the game.
When you reach lvl10-11, get the quest for Maraku Werevolves and go a bit lower down the valley E-side.
At lvl12-13 you can get the quest for the bat fangs and Varangka's Messenger, and at lvl15 go for the totem quest the Gk will give you.
All those quests will help you gather some money before you reach lvl19. This game is about money and grinding, the lvling is a nice extra, but try to make money first, lvl will follow.
