I tried to give priviliges to a member of my clan. All the choices were greyed out, and I could not give him priviliges. The clan member was in my presence and selected.
I am guessing that I may have to get my clan level to 4 or 5.

Are you using the Priveleges button? Or the Authorize button? They must be targetable, selected, and then use the Authorize button.
I first used authorize, and nothing happened. I then opened priviliges window. Everything was checked on, but greyed out so I could not change it. I hit the OK button, but nothing happened. The clan member was next to me and selected.

Yes, I am clan leader, that is why I stated it is my clan.
The Priveleges button is just for viewing your priveleges. The authorize button is for giving priveleges.
I recently was authorizing someone and the window did not pop up at first. I tried again and it worked. Just make sure you're near the person and try that button a few times.

Excuse the [censored] out of me, then, for trying to clear something up before answering further. As clan leader you should be smart enough to know how to do this then. Cheers.
I did the same thing when I made a lvl 2 clan in which i was by myself with all my toons :D.
You click authorize, then select what you wanna give to who and then click ok. Priveleges only let you see what you have, not to change others priveleges. It doesn't make much sense at first, but this game was created by koreans so they might have a different meaning for the words :p.

OK, I clicked authorize, and nothing happened. From what you say, a box should have opened with choices of the priviliges I want to give. Since that didn't happen, it sounds like I didn't click it enough times. Maybe there was some lag. I will try again.
I will not. People say "my clan" all the time without being the clan leader. Many assume (incorrectly) that since they've been given clan privilages, they can pass those on to others. I was seeking a clarification and was jumped on for it.
